People will put a burlap fence around small trees and shrubs, some fill them with leaves to protect them from freezing wind. I used the wrap for the top of my palm trees to protect the top of the tree where the leaves start to come out. If the base freezes where the leaves sprout from the tree dies. So if you have a tree and you are not sure how to protect it or even if it needs protection, go to your local green house and they'll be able to give you the best advise.

Answer:	Each is 9 inches tall. I stacked them (we get a lot of snow in SD) and two would be a bit under 18 inches as they fit together (the slats at the bottom are not closed with a ring, they are like 'fingers' hanging loose). They come coiled tightly into maybe a 2 inch diameter but the coil will expand to fully cover a 4 inch diameter tree. If you want to use them on a bigger tree (and I did) you can hook the edge of one to the edge of another and use them together. It's not the easiest thing to do as they really want to stay coiled up but it will work. Hope I'm explaining this well enough - picture a sheet of plastic with edges that would fit an identical sheet so you could hook them together. Then picture rolling it up and leaving it rolled long enough that it doesn't want to unroll.
