How To Use Instructions
DAY 1: Spread granules over the undamaged lawn first, preventing mole damage in these areas. Also start treating the damaged lawn nearest to the undamaged lawn. This will start the process of moving moles away from your lawn. Water granules for approximately 20 minutes on a light shower setting. Water and Ground Penetrating Technology (GPT) allows the repellent to absorb into the soil more thoroughly.
DAY 2: Continue the movement of moles by spreading the granules away from undamaged lawn and towards the boundaries of your lawn. Spread the granules over the second area; water the same area as Day 1 plus the second area to get moles moving. Each watering allows the granules with GPT to penetrate more deeply.
DAY 3: Spread the granules over the third area. Water the same area as Days 1 and 2 plus the third area.
DAY 4: Spread the granules over the fourth area. Water the same area as Days 1, 2, and 3, plus the fourth area to push the moles out of your yard.
Mole & Gopher Detection
Moles: A clue that you might have a mole problem is your lawn will look like raised, brown, grassless streaks which are created when moles tunnel below. The other thing to look for are "mole hills" which are seen above ground and are created when the mole pushes soil and debris to the surface.
Gophers: Burrowing pocket gophers (Thomomys spp. and Geomys spp.) throw out low, fan shaped mounds on either side of their underground tunnel.
Baits – Mole Killers
Moles eat bait and leave to die underground.
Mechanical Trap
This non-toxic option provides effective kill without use of baits. It holds the mole for proof of kill.
Repellents
Spread or spray over the lawn as directed and you'll discover that when Tomcat moves in – moles move out.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this home defense max? description says it is but photo shows only home defense and it's not the max |
Answer: | I use it to spray nematodes. Works just fine. |
Question: | What are the active ingredients in this product |
Answer: | I am very satisfied do not be surprised at the first water valve turn on as it may leak for a few seconds. Mine no longer does this. Depending on your water pressure you can spray upwards about nine to ten feet.I can reach the roof line of my ranch style home. |
Question: | do you have to apply after every rainstorm ???? can get very expensive |
Answer: | The lowest is 1 teaspoon and it goes up to 8 ounces. |
Question: | Any way to revive the sprayer after it stops working |
Answer: | When these work, they are awesome. Read the instructions for you chemical, determine how much concentrate to add per gallon of water. Fill the container with any amount of concentrate, set the dial. For example, if you are to add 3 oz. of concentrate per gallon, just put the concentrate into the container, set the dial to 3 oz. and spray. The sprayer will suck out the concentrate mixing it with the water at the concentration that you set on the dial, in this case, 3 oz. per gallon. Problem is, these are a little flimsy, So I suggest that you put water into the container the first time to make sure it works right, then play around with the different concentration levels. Set it to the highest concentration level and it will suck the container empty pretty quick, that way you'll be sure it's syphoning. |

Question: | What kind of grass is this? Would like to see the back of the bag to see |
Answer: | How do I take a picture? There are 9+ ingrediences. I love the grass. Thick and a beautiful shade of green. That's about all I can say. I love it and it was my first time planting grass seed. I'm very pleased with the grass. |
Question: | What variety of grass seed is in this mix (i.e. %s |
Answer: | Hi, I am so I can't give you percentages of mix. The seeds are covered with a blue coating of fertilizer, which stays on for about 5 days even watering 3 times a day. This also keeps the birds from eating 20% of it. This is the 5th bag I have ordered as I have 1/3 acre of all weeds and dirt when I recently bought my house. It is an excellent blend and covers very well and spreads out and fills in. I have large areas that get 90% shade and it grows almost as fast as the seeds in full sun. Very happy with this seed. Can't tell you the blend, but it looks beautiful and no weeds at all. The grass comes up fast and full. I think You would be very happy with this product. Sincerely, Mark |
Question: | Is this grass okay for Arizona,s dry climate |
Answer: | No. The grass is similar to a winter rye grass that that does OK in the cooler winter months, but died in Texas as soon as it got hotter and dry. I would not recommend this grass for any southern hot and dry climate. |

- Helps prevent root damage caused by insects for a stronger lawn
- Prevents turf damage by killing grubs when they are young
- Kills 25% more grub types vs. original GrubEx
- Scotts products are designed to work with Scotts spreaders
User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use this in vegetable garden |
Answer: | You probably "could" use it to prevent/kill grubs (and other insects), but probably should not use it in your garden(s) if you intend to eat the veggies you grow, since it IS a chemical. Grubs typically won't eat most veggie or flower roots anyway as they tend to be a bit "hard" and "biter" for grubs liking, so you shouldn't even need to use any in your veggie or flower beds or garden areas, they do however enjoy grass roots as they tend to be much thinner, softer and "sweeter" to grubs, so use it only on your lawn/grass. You can also heavily apply this product and NOT worry about any lawn damage. I double the recommended spreader setting and it never negatively affects my lawn and I never get grubs anymore. Good Luck! |
Question: | will it harm earthworms |
Answer: | Grubex will not harm earthworms, nematodes or soil bacteria and does not pose a health risk to wildlife when applied according to label instructions. |
Question: | Can I use with crabgrass preventer |
Answer: | Yes, you can apply at the same time, I have for years! I apply this product each year 7 to 10 days after the LAST frost (usually early to mid March in my area of NYC), that way the soil has started to soften up and the products can get down and do their job, at the same time I apply a "Scotts" brand Crabgrass Pre-Emergent (which only kills/prevents SOME weed types) and so I also throw down a broader spectrum weed n feed to combat most/all other types of weeds and I also get a lawn food and a soil food down as well and I always overseed heavily each fall. Since figuring out my lawn and soil, what it needs and what works best for me, I have not had any grub or carbgrass issues in about 12 years. Good Luck |
Question: | Does this kill Vine Weevil grubs? Thank you |
Answer: | GrubEx1 will control the grub larvae of following insects: Japanese beetles, Asiatic garden beetles, Black turfgrass ataenius, Aphodius spp., European chafers, Green June beetles, May/June beetles, Northern masked chafers, Oriental beetles, Southern masked chafers, Caterpillars (including Armyworms, Cutworms, Sod websorms), Billbug grubs and crane fly larvae (including European Crane Flies). It will also suppress chinchbugs. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How effective is this? Last night I placed two and it was snapped and the bait was gone but didn't catch the mice |
Answer: | Living on a farm we get mice more often than we would like. I bought these, and they haven't failed. Work everything for us! Snaps super hard. Just place a tiny bit of peanut butter within the reserve. That's all you need. If it was snapped and the bait gone, then either too much bait, or I have no clue. There is no way a mouse is getting away from this trap! |
Question: | I hate it when the old wood traps catch a mouse by its feet etc and its still alive but stuck. Does this trap help with this problem |
Answer: | I did not have that problem with these. The ones caught with these traps were trapped good and all were dead. I checked the traps about every 6 hrs because we hate mice-almost made us want to sell our house and move. I ordered 2 sets of 2. At this great price, when it "caught" a mouse, I threw it all away. I also bought about a dozen of the plastic (black with yellow) ones that are like the old school ones. They were equally affordable and considered them "disposable" as well. Both kinds were extremely effective and caught more than my Orkin guy did. His glue traps were wholly ineffective. When they say you see one but you really have 5 or 6, they aren't kidding. *I do not recommend the electric traps. It never worked and was a waste of $20. |
Question: | Are these the same as http://www.amazon.com/Ortho-0321110-Defense-Press-2-Pack/dp/B003YL4MG |
Answer: | Prior to purchasing the Tomcat Press 'N Set mouse trap I looked this up and it's exactly the same product as the Ortho Press 'N Set. Both the "Ortho" and "Tomcat" product brands are produced by the ScottsMiracle-Gro Corporation. Here's the proof: http://www.scottsmiraclegro.com/brands/ |
Question: | hi what is the biggest cat this will catch |
Answer: | Catch a tiger by it’s toe |

Treatment Tips
For best results, place 2 traps 5-10 ft. apart and target areas with high mice activity such as: near refrigerators, stoves, pantries, between washer and dryer or along baseboards.
Signs of Rodent Problems
First, determine the type of rodent problem and the location of activity to help you decide on the best Tomcat solution to use. Signs of rodents: tracks and tail trails in dusty areas, wood that looks gnawed, smears along baseboards or other areas, or a heavy musky odor in the house or rodent droppings.
Mouse
Mice droppings are smooth, 1/8-1/4 inches long, and pointed at both ends.

Norway Rat droppings are blunt on both ends
Roof Rat
Roof Rat droppings are shiny, black, 1/2-3/4 inches long, and pointed on both ends.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work for voles....they are different than moles |
Answer: | I really don't know, but if their favorite food is earthworms and grubs, it should work. I think voles are root eaters. |
Question: | Does this work on gophers as well? We have clay soil too |
Answer: | This product worked well on moles. I wiped out the whole herd of them for months. If the gopher eats the worms, he's toast! As long as you get the worm into the tunnel system |
Question: | The box of tom cat mole killer worms looks old i know they are good for about a year anyone know where or how to read the expiration date on the box |
Answer: | This killer absolutely gets rid of our moles. I do NOT let human scent get on them. I use plastic gloves (still don't touch the worm), put on foil, spread peanut butter all over the worm and cut it into 3 pieces. I then use wire pliers to pick the pieces up and insert into a hole that I made in the run with a wide wooden stick. As far as a date, I looked all over my box and saw nothing about an expiration date. Unless the bar code has a hidden date on it..... |
Question: | Hazard for dogs to eat the poisoned moles |
Answer: | I would be very cautious, my moles came out of the holes to die on the lawn. |
Product features
Verify Active Runways
Identify surface runways: brown, grassless streaks on a lawn, created when moles tunnel below. Carefully poke a hole in the top of the surface runway with your index finger. Be sure to not collapse the pile or cover up the hole. Mark the hole with a small stick. Repeat with several runway locations. Wait 48 - 72 hours and then check holes to see if they have been sealed. If they have, they are active and can be baited. Runways that have had holes resealed within 72 hours should be baited.
Bait Active Runways
Bait only active runways. Poke a hole 3 to 5 feet on either side of the assessment hole and place one worm bait down each hole. Push the worm as far down as you can. Make sure each worm is sitting on the floor of the runway. Reseal the runway with dirt to keep out any light and pinch hole closed or cover it with a piece of sod or small rock.
Determine Baiting Results
Wait 5 to 7 days, then check for mole activity using the same process in Step 2. If the holes stay open for 48 - 72 hours, the mole has likely traveled the runway and eaten the bait.
Mole Detection
A clue that you might have a mole problem is your lawn will look like raised, brown, grassless streaks which are created when moles tunnel below. The other thing to look for are "mole hills" which are seen above ground and are created when the mole pushes soil and debris to the surface.
- Easy to use—just press to set
- Convenient, built-in grab-tab for easy disposal
- Kills mice, guaranteed!* *Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back.
- Redesigned, now more effective* *vs. previous design
- Safe around kids and pets; won’t snap fingers or paws

User questions & answers
Question: | Do I have to apply more gel to the trap, each time I catch a mouse |
Answer: | Only had them about 30 hours. It’s getting hard but I’m guessing still has a scent as we caught 2 in 1 trap. We didn’t put a lot in our traps. We’ve caught 4 in 3 different locations, attic and 2 separate garages. |
Question: | how many are in a case |
Answer: | I've never ordered a case. 2 per pk |
Question: | What are the ingredients |
Answer: | I ordered 2 of these. The first bottle was very hard to squeeze product out. Never opened the second. |
Question: | How many traps can you set up with 1 oz |
Answer: | Thank you for your question regarding Tomcat Attractant Gel. A one ounce bottle contains enough material to bait many traps. The number of traps it can bait varies in the amount that is used when baiting the trap. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us at 877-332-0755. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do they like it to eat? Does that mean this actually collect* slugs around |
Answer: | Yes slugs like to eat it and then die. I don"t know what you mean by collect slugs around ,but it does not attract more slugs ,just kills the ones around the plant. |
Question: | Are these pellets or powder |
Answer: | I received Pellets and it was the old packaging. I can see that it doesn't state anywhere that these are pellets and I would be dissapointed if I received the powder. |
Question: | Can you put them on mulch |
Answer: | Yes. I've been using this product on top of pine bark mulch for several years with no problems. |
Question: | We tried a different brand of pellets before and the birds just came and ate them before the slugs. Will the birds eat these |
Answer: | I've sprinkled this twice and both times one bird each had died (two birds so far). The first bird I had suspicions about the pellets killing it, but I wasn't sure. I know this for a fact now since I sprinkled some around my bat plant this morning and I startled the dove eating it. He couldn't fly and walked on the ground and now he's dead in my backyard. |

Ortho Bug-Geta Snail & Slug Killer 2
Snails and slugs can wreak havoc on your garden. Snails with their coiled shell can often be found chomping on your vegetables, ornamentals and even your garden soil—leaving a path of destruction with jagged holes in your favorite plants.
Slugs are very similar, thriving in moist environments. Rainy seasons and well-irrigated gardens are perfect environments for slugs as they eat the leaves of many plants, particularly seedlings.
To protect your valuable plants from snails and slugs, try Otho Bug-Geta Snail & Slug Killer 2 around vegetables, fruit trees, citrus, berries, ornaments, shrubs, flowers, trees and gardens.
How To Apply
