Answer:	I am pretty sure that you would need to have a hub, like the Smart Things hub, to get Alexa to talk Zwave.
Question:	Can these bulbs connect directly to amazon echo or is the "hub" mentioned required for the bulbs to work with the amazon echo
Answer:	You would will need a smart hub to pair them together.. Without a smart hub the bulb isn't dimmable.
Question:	Why does Amazon list the 6 pack as 6 dollars per bulb when it is obviously more than that
Answer:	IT should work with SmartThings hub. If you're going to use with Alexa, or Google, I would recommend Kasa (TP-Link), no hub required, makes life easier. We do have three of the GoControl in the Kitchen, much cooler than a regular bulb for my wife when cooking. If you really want to use the hub, I can confirm GoControl are reliable, got 7 bulbs total running through our Alarm/hub. Had 4 of them for 4 years now no issues. From more recent experience though, I prefer the Kasa for ease of setup. Hope this helps.

Question:	Can anyone explain what you mean when you say you need a hub to connect to Alexa
Answer:	As of may 28 2017 they do not work with hue. I emailed hue with no response why. The code to manually search for bulbs is not working or not being accepted.
Question:	Will this connect to Echo dot 3rd Generation without a hub
Answer:	It is a 6pk the math must be incorrect per bulb, if you buy a single bulb the price is $14.97 so buying 6 you save about $4. The bulbs are very good and offer a dimmable feature on any light, also controlling mine with Amazon echo through a wink hub, works great.
Question:	Do these bulbs use zigbee or bluetooth to connect alexa devices? description mentions echo dot (3rd gen) which does not include zigbee hub
Answer:	So it does need a hub, and will work with stuff like the Hue, however its a pain to set up. https://huetips.com/lamp-finder/ use this to connect them if you do get one.

Answer:	Always wondered that myself. You do only get 6 bulbs.
