Answer:	No, I have not run it in hot summer. I bought two of it a week ago today. I set up one in the attic and the other in the basement. I use switch #3 and increase the auditory/audio volume (I'm the only one at home and no pet). I switch on the the LED light. The LED light flashes consistently when it's dark, even in the mid-day if the surrounding area is dark. It never gets hot. They are both working as advertised. The activities have plummeted.

Question:	Is it supposed to beep all the time ? Or will it only beep when the animal is near
Answer:	I sorry, but I have no clue. We have tons of pigeons and doves. Doesn't work at all on these smaller birds so I'm assuming it wouldn't affect larger birds.

I can also say this.. I live in South San Francisco next to a cemetery where pigeons are fed by the public..
