12 best ant killer products

Ant killer products are substances or devices designed to control or eliminate ant infestations. They fall under the broader category of pest control and are commonly used in outdoor spaces like lawns and gardens, as well as indoors.

Here's some information related to ant killer products and their associated categories:

  1. Repellents: Ant repellents are substances designed to deter ants from entering a specific area. These can come in various forms, including sprays, granules, or liquid solutions. Repellents often contain chemicals or natural ingredients that ants find unpleasant, causing them to avoid the treated area.

  2. Pest Control: Ant killer products are a subset of pest control solutions, which aim to manage and mitigate infestations of various pests. In addition to ants, pest control products can target other insects, rodents, and unwanted wildlife. They can be applied in both residential and commercial settings.

  3. Patio Lawn Garden: Ant killer products are commonly used in outdoor spaces, particularly in patios, lawns, and gardens. Ants can be particularly problematic in these areas, as they can disrupt landscaping efforts and sometimes even cause damage to plants.

There are various types of ant killer products available on the market, including:

  • Ant Bait Stations: These are small containers filled with a bait that attracts ants. The bait is typically a mixture of food and a slow-acting insecticide.Ants carry the bait back to their colony, where it spreads and eventually eliminates the entire colony.

  • Sprays and Aerosols: These products deliver a direct application of insecticide to areas where ants are present. They are useful for targeting specific ant trails, nests, or entry points.

  • Granular Ant Killers: These are solid, granulated formulations that are spread over affected areas. They are often used outdoors and are effective for treating larger areas like lawns.

  • Liquid Ant Baits: These consist of a liquid mixture that attracts ants. They are typically placed in small containers or traps and work similarly to bait stations.

When using ant killer products, it's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully to ensure safe and effective application. Additionally, consider any potential environmental impacts, especially in outdoor spaces, and choose products that align with your specific pest control needs and preferences.

TERRO T200-12 2 Oz Liquid Ant Killer

Terro

Based on 12 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Attract and kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see with TERRO Liquid Ant Killer. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them. Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks. The 2 oz bottle offers plenty of ant-killing power to eliminate your infestation. For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is easy to use. Simply apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the cardboard tiles included on the packaging. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant killer undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

User questions & answers

Question: How is the TERRO 2 (T200) different from the TERRO 1 (T
Answer: It may be the amount of product. T200=2 oz T100=1 oz. I am really only guessing.
Question: How does this compare to other concoctions such as maple syrup + water + borax
Answer: I tried to make some of my own. Maple syrup and a small amount of dissolved borax. The ants don't even go near it. Terro OTOH, absolutely works. Ants LOVE it. Try it, you'll love it, too! The only ants that did not have luck with Terro were carpenter ants. They just don't seem attracted to it.
Question: will it gets ants out my pants
Answer: Yes. Yes it will. Buy a case and give it a try.
Question: Does it get rid of crazy ants
Answer: This product will attract a variety of common household ants, including crazy ants.

TERRO ant killer

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer uses borax to kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see. It works by allowing the forager ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the sweet liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony. Over time, the bait kills the original ant and any ants that also consume it. Complete control may take two weeks.

To use this ant killing liquid, simply apply the product directly from the bottle onto the provided cardboard squares and place near indoor areas where ants are passing. Place TERRO Liquid Ant Killer near ant trails and other locations where they are numerous. Apply the baited cardboard tiles on the edges of sinks, tubs, windowsills, under food cabinets, along floors and baseboards and in corners.

How to Use TERRO Liquid Ant Killer

TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is very easy to use. Before placing the ant killer, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting them elsewhere. Do not place where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the ant killer.

1. Tear the "Place TERRO Here" cardboard tiles from the packaging along the perforated lines. Then, apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the tile until they form a small puddle. You may also substitute with small pieces of paper, cardboard or foil.

2. Place the ant killer tiles on a flat surface near signs of target pests. Place additional tiles anywhere they may enter your home. The more bait placements, the better.

3. Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait while they are actively feeding on it. Add more liquid if it goes dry or add more tiles to ensure there's always a fresh supply for the ants.

How Ant Bait Works

TERRO ant bait works by attracting a large number of ants right away – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet liquid. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants at first, followed by a sharp drop off as the bait takes effect.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient, borax, is slowly interfering with each ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing them, but leaving enough time for the ants to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that ants can make several trips to the bait, allowing you to get rid of the ants you see and the ants you don’t. Allow up to two weeks for the bait to take full effect.

User questions & answers

Question: Why is the pricing so weird? It's actually 2x more in bulk! Did someone make a mistake? Sorry for the rhetorical question, silly vendor person
Answer: It has to do with who the actual "seller" is. If you select a quantity of "1", in this case, it is "sold and fulfilled" by Amazon. If you select a quantity of "2" it is "sold" by another company while still being "fulfilled" by Amazon. Yes, both quantities are, as of this writing, "fulfilled" by Amazon but that just tells you that Amazon stores, packages, and ships both items(1 and 2 packs) even though there are, in reality, two different "sellers". If you click back and forth on the quantity selector you'll see the "sold by" name change. Look just under the price after you switch. The seller of the 2 pack sets the price whereas the seller of the 1 pack(Amazon) sets its own price. I'm sure Amazon buys the 1 pack in very large quantities and, therefore, can get a bigger discount, per piece, than the other "seller" can get, per piece, for the 2-pack.
Question: How safe is this product in the kitchen? We have a few ants crawling around our kitchen sink and would like to place one of these bait stations on our kitchen counter. Bad idea? Thanks
Answer: This is a generally safe product according to my research. Make sure to read the packaging and follow direction. (FOR INDOOR USE READ THE FOLLOWING) One lesson I learned the hard way: the sugary syrup is irresistible to ants, even though it is laced with poison. This means when you use Tarro, you're actually providing access to free food! The poison will work on the ants and it takes about 18-24 hours to kill them... but as you wait after 24 hours, Tarro syrup will attract other thriving colonies into your home. They'll follow the same rich trails laid behind by the previous colony and even scavenge on the carcases of the previously fallen colony. This cycle will continue, attracting ants from far away reaches and allowing them to setup massive colonies within your home. This is especially true with Argentine ants (available throughout the world), which form massive colonies with multiple queens - a trait unique to this type of ant, whereas others will battle for territory. So the lesson learned is simple... once the initial 1 or 2 swarms die down, remove all baits and all forms of food from open spaces in your home; patch up all openings in walls, baseboards, cracks around windows, etc; apply perimeter pesticide around your home; and look for signs of wandering ants in the next week. If you see more ants then you missed an opening and already have an established colony in your wall.... repeat!! Just don't leave out Tarro and keep replenishing, especially in the case of Argentine ants.
Question: Is this safe to have around pets? I have a curious cat
Answer: I'd say no. My cat knocked one of these over once and licked the syrup. She was fine but it wasn't a fun afternoon (trip to the vet, etc.). Terro sells a version of this that encloses the bait in plastic and has sticky squares to attach them to the floor, counter, or other surfaces. I use those instead now.
Question: I have a baby in the house and I would like to use this product to kill ants in my house. Any precautions you suggest before I use this product
Answer: The ant trails at my house sometimes go from the floor to the ceiling. I turn the bait so that the liquid will not run out and use Scotch tape to tape it to the wall next to the ant trail. I tape the bait high enough that babies and grand children cannot get to it. It usually takes two days for the ants to disappear. Then three days after they disappear, they return to the trap. Another two days and they disappear again. The second time they disappear is usually the last time I see them at that location.

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits

Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks.

How Liquid Ant Bait Works

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.

Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.

How to Use Liquid Ant Baits

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.

  1. Hold the bait station firmly with bait pack tab facing up. Break off the tab being careful not to spill the bait.
  2. Place the bait station label side up on a flat surface near signs of ants. Place additional bait stations anywhere they may enter your home. For best results, use all bait stations to ensure a sufficient supply for the ants.
  3. Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait stations. Replace when bait is depleted. Complete control may take up to two weeks.
  4. Once ants are controlled, replace the baits every 3 months to keep them from returning.

User questions & answers

Question: does it kill sugar ants
Answer: Yes!
Question: Will this product kill tiny ants? Also, will it get rid of the entire colony what is already nested in your house? Thanks
Answer: It kills every ant on your property if you use it right. It was more effective than my pest control companies stuff. Been using it for years. I am back here to order more. Don't use before it rains and use the whole product as it will degrade if you open and let it sit.
Question: Has anyone used this around lizards or squirrels? Or would anyone use it around these critters
Answer: I have used this product for a couple of years now. It works great. I sprinkle it around my home and around my yard perimeter. I have not seen a decrease in the gecko's/lizards so I assume they are ok. I don't think squirrels are attracted to it either. The product works great for about 45-60 days.
Question: My ants ignore this bait completely. They are not interested in sugar or p.n.butter either. What's the solution
Answer: Amdro perimeter bait is a preventive solution for around the outside of the house to prevent ant from coming inside. If you already have ants in your home, try a different solution...such as Terro Liquid and bait. They shouldn't ignore that. You will have to put up with an ant trail for a couple of days, but they will go away.

Why is Bait Better?

Bait is considered one of the most effective methods for killing ants. Bait works even when you can't find the nest and unlike contact pesticides, bait can wipe out the entire colony by destroying the queen.

Bait is designed to taste like food, so it is enticing to ants. Once worker ants find the bait, they bring it back to be shared with the queen and the rest of the colony. Once the queen and other ants eat it, the whole mound dies.

As a means to ensure that the bait is shared with all the ants in the colony, there is a delayed reaction before the bait begins to take its full effect and kill all the ants in the colony. Therefore, bait is considered to be more effective than contact killers since bait is shared with the entire colony, while contact killers will only kill ants that come into contact with the product.

With AMDRO, it's game over for ants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Ant Bait take to work?

The active ingredient in AMDRO works with delayed action, ensuring worker ants have time to share the bait with the colony. Typically, the bait will begin to kill the queen within one week of application and will kill the colony within two weeks of application.

What is the best way to treat for ants I found inside my home?

If there are ants already inside your home, we recommend doing two things. First, use one of the AMDRO Kills Ants products listed for indoor usage above to kill the ants that are already inside. Second, apply AMDRO Ant Block Home Perimeter Ant Bait granules around the outside of your home to prevent ants from getting inside.

Do I have to reapply granules if it rained after being put down?

For best results, we recommend not applying the product when the ground is soaking wet or when heavy rains are expected.

COVERAGE. 32 oz. bottle treats up to 400 sq.ft.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

THE POWER OF CEDAR OIL. Cedar oil affects octopamine, which is essential to life for pheromone-driven pests (like fleas and ticks) as it is responsible for regulating heart rate, movement and behavior in insect pests. Cedar oil blocks the octopamine neurotransmitter receptors in pests, causing pests to be repelled from the area. When contacted, pests suffocate and die. Mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and beneficial, sight-driven insects are not affected by cedar oil because they do not have octopamine neurotransmitters.

INGREDIENTS: Active: 4.2% cedarwood oil, 2.2% sodium lauryl sulfate, 1.5% lemongrass oil, 0.1% sesame oil. Inert: 92% (water, polyglyceryl oleate, glycerin, sodium chloride, ethyl lactate, sodium citrate, citric acid, vitamin E). Total: 100.0%.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this safe to use around plant
Answer: They suspend in water
Question: Why can’t this be shipped to my address in Minnesota
Answer: 6 inch.. Baby brushes at 4.5 I think.. Babies for the spring.. Big ones for late summer and fall
Question: What if the ground isn’t moist before application? Do the granules have to be wet to work
Answer: They work well on largemouth but you will get more bites on the baby brush hogs for sure ! I like the big ones because I have caught several big fish on them and tournament fishing you have to catch some bigger fish to compete
Question: Why will this state that it will not ship to my address in Texas, however, no problem with the shipping of the same product that is in the 4 lb size
Answer: In my opinion, this bait is best used for flipping into heavy cover, like weeds, grass or lay-down logs, etc. I rig it 'texposed' with a 5/0 extra-wide gap hook and a 1/2 ounce(or heavier, depending on the cover) bullet weight. If this terminology is unfamiliar to you, there are lots of good videos on youtube- it's abit complicated to explain with text, but by actually watching someone do it, it's not hard at all to learn. Use heavy line, at least 20# if you're using mono or fluorocarbon, but I personally use braid, 50# or even 65#, and a stout rod.All that being said, one CAN use the smaller sizes as a drop shot bait. Here is where spinning gear and lighter line, 8# or 10# test, depending on cover/water clarity, can come into play. Again, youtube can show you how to rig a Brush Hog on a drop shot rig.

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used under fruit trees ie. Apple, pears, blueberries etc?? I need to be 100% sure and would like responses fro those whom are certain
Answer: I always want to give good information on this poisen. I can not answer your question. I use Bayer poisen for the yard and around the headges and for flea controll. I contacted Bayer about useing it during the hot summer months in Fl when the tempature reaches above 90*; Bayer informed me that it stops killing insects above 90*. For fruit trees you need to call their 800 # and ask them or your county Agracultrial Agent. Have a safe growing season. Dallas
Question: Will this work in flower beds with weed fabric and ceder mulch on top? Worried it won't get down to the grubs
Answer: This substance is a solvent. it will eventually dissolve and absolve in ground, so it would work when spread over mulch.
Question: does this kill chiggers? the normal insect killers won't work because they're arachnids, but noticed it does kill spiders and ticks
Answer: Yes it specifically lists chiggers as a pest it will control. Thanks for considering your purchase from Amazon through AgCareDirect.
Question: will this kill honeybees
Answer: Thats a good QUESTION. I dont know I would call Bayer and talk to them. Also make sure you read the MSDS INFORMATION and the instructions on how to speead it. Bayer is good for killing fleas and ticks. It lasts three months and use it untill the out door temps hit 90* or above. I live in Jax Fl. I use a comertial pest controll service year round and I have them spray for fleas during the 90* hot summer months. Comertial liquid poisen kills the fleas and ticks above 90*. I either just dump the bag in my spreader or sometimes use rubber gloves and speead it around the foundation of my house to kill roaches before they have a chance to get in. Also, BAYER does not kill anything if you use it during the hot days of summer when the tempature is above 90*. I called Bayer and read it on the MSDS sheet. Hope I helped you out. I was a Hamat Tech when I was a Firefighter now I am retired. Have a good spring.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this product only good for active termites? I am remodeling a bathroom and am wondering if this would be good to Pre treat before we dry wall
Answer: I bought for someone else. I didn’t see any different in either one in roaches. Bought several brands. Had to finally get expensive stuff and bait placed.
Question: Is this okay to spray on the carpet area along the bottom of the wall
Answer: They're do small that your a NY roach might pick it up and carry it back to its nest for dessert. lol. On a more serious note, I hired an exterminator and the 1st thing he noticed was that I had those Raid boxes in major corners in my place. He suggested they were a waste of money and not effective. I took his word for it.
Question: Will it kill flying termites
Answer: Depending on how bad you infestation is, I would recommend using the fogger first to kill many of the pests then put out all the egg stoppers and baits to stop any ones that survived from reproducing.
Question: Will this stick to the ceiling? I have a tiny crack between the wall and ceiling
Answer: The egg killers/stoppers don't effect the eggs already laid; it makes the adult female roaches sterile....they can no longer reproduce/lay eggs. It breaks the reproductive cycle. The roach baits kill the roaches once they've hatched.

Spectracide Terminate Products

There are two types of homes: those that have termites and those that will eventually have termites. Whether you live in the North or South or have a new or old home, your home is a target for termites.

Spectracide Terminate products kill wood-destroying insects, with options for detection, outdoor treatment and indoor crack and crevice control. Along with a professional inspection to determine the extent of an active infestation, these products offer effective, do-it-yourself options for controlling wood-destroying insects.

How do you know if you have termites?

Subterranean termites are found in 49 of the 50 states and Puerto Rico (everywhere but Alaska). If termites have invaded your home, you may see some of these warning signs:

  • Small wings near windows and doors or in the garage.
  • Mud tunnels along the foundation of your house (inside or outside).
  • Small holes in the wood or drywall, or buckling paint.

Because termites eat wood from the inside out, it might be difficult to determine the extent of an active infestation. If you suspect termites, get a professional inspection and treat the area where termites are present.

Reduce potential food sources.

Check for leaky water spigots or sprinklers, and ensure that water flows away from your home.

Remove potential food sources.

Pay attention to areas where wood contacts soil directly, including fences, stairs, trellises, wood piles, stumps, dead bushes or other wood debris.

Pre-treat soil.

When building a new home, check with your contractor for soil pre-treatments that can be applied by a professional pest control operator.

Get regular inspections.

Certified inspectors can point out termite-critical areas around your home and may recommend other treatments, such as mechanical alteration or foundation treatment.

Terro

Based on 6 reviews Check latest price

Product description

TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits are ideal for large ant infestations. It attracts and kills all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants. To attract and kill ants, simply place the pre-filled, ready-to-use liquid bait stations outdoors in areas where ants are observed and, if desired, secure baits with the stakes provided. The bait stations can also be placed on decks, or in garages or basements without using the stakes. Ants typically follow defined trails from the nest to food or water. Placing the outdoor ant baits close to these trails will improve control. The patented outdoor ant baits prevent the liquid bait from drying out, providing the ants with a continuous supply of food, day and night.

  • Kills the ants you see and the ants you don’t
  • Pre filled bait stations are ready to use
  • Contains borax
  • Flexible placement: in the ground using the stakes or on decks, or in garages or basements without using the stakes
  • Patented station protects the bait from the elements, prevents it from drying out

User questions & answers

Question: How do I tell If they are empty? Unlike the indoor traps they are not clear
Answer: The trap should be replaced every 3 months.
Question: We haver grease eating ants. Is this the right product
Answer: Terro says product is for "Attracting and killing all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants." Terro is a sweet bait; grease eating ants are attracted to protein. They might go for Terro; however if protein sources are still to be found in your house they will probably ignore the bait. I haven't had a problem with grease eating ants, but I understand that from folks who have that the Combat formula is better for attracting grease eating ants. You can also make your own baits for grease eaters by mixing boric acid (a white powder you can find in drugs stores or hardware stores) with peanut butter. Just make sure that the bait is out of reach of kids and animals (I have used boric acid/watermelon bait successfully with sweet-eating ants. However, it can only be used indoors, as sun dries it up and rain washes it away.) Good Luck!
Question: Will this work on fire ants
Answer: Yes absolutely I had the worst ant problem I have ever seen when I moved into my new home. They moved in because of a drought in Texas. The first two days I did not see much of a difference and was about to write a bad review, but I had to go out of town, I left and when I came back the next week there were no more ants, not a single one, in fact it has been almost a year and I still haven't seen one inside or outside since. This stuff is amazing. Also my dog ate 2 of the yard baits we were worried he would get sick but he was perfectly fine that's a plus also.
Question: Will these work for carpenter ants
Answer: Carpenter ants infest every tree on my property and I found them foraging inside the garage (very bad news). Mostly for the garage, but also because I have one very nice pin oak, I placed 2 of these just inside the garage door and at the base of the tree and within 1 month no more ants. So, I guess it works on carpenter ants. However, if you use the trap per the package instructions the carpenter ants are too large to enter. What you do instead is push down and rotate as instructed to puncture the internal pouch then very carefully lift the cup back up to its original position and snap it into place. This opens the trap all the way around an the carpenter ants can enter. I intend to buy more as it works on almost every ant on my property. And that's a lot of different types of ants. You might also try Bayer Advance 375A. Its a protein based poison and if the ants don't have a sweet tooth that day they go for it. The terro traps make excellent bait stations for the 375A once the liquid is gone.

TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits

When it comes to ants, baiting should be your first choice. Try TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stations. These large bait cups can actually be used inside or outside and work to eras the entire ant colony. Sweet eating, common household ants will run to the baits and carry the bait back to the Queen of the colony. Once the Queen has received the bait, the rest of the colony dies off.

Simple to Use

These pre-filled ready-to-use bait stations convenient and easy to install around your home or yard where ants have been observed. Stakes are included to secure the stations on various surfaces, including grass or gravel. Use without the stakes indoors in the home, basement, or garage as well!

What Type of Ants?

Luckily, most ants are sweet eating and love out bait. Our TERRO Liquid Ant Bait works with all common household ants including: Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants, crazy ants, big headed ants and other sweet eating ants.

How it Works

When it comes to ants, always try to start with baiting. Unlike contact killers, which only target visible worker ants on your property, these baits include slow-acting ingredients that have a delayed effect on the ant's digestive system. This allows ants to feed and return to the colony where they can spread the bait to the young and queen. During this time, the number of ants may increase as they swarm to feed on the sweetened liquid before they begin disappearing altogether.

User questions & answers

Question: Syngenta has two ant bait products. one has thiamethoxam (syngenta - trtd11568) as it's active ingredient where this one has indoxacarb. difference
Answer: optigard ant is syngentas other ant bait
Question: Advion bed bugs
Answer: It’s designed to attract and kill ants. I seriously doubt it would be effective on bed bugs but I’ve been wrong before.
Question: What is the difference between this one and the one that say for german roaches
Answer: This product is labeled for Ants only. It has a different bait profile to attract ants and a different active Ingredient to kill ants specifically.
Question: Why does it say "made by DuPont," but the package clearly says it is made by "Syngenta
Answer: Actually, it is NOT Dupont that bought Syngenta. I did my homework too(April 2018) and see that as of 11 months ago, Syngenta was bought by ChemChina which is a chemical company owned by the Chinese government. I wonder if that is the reason people have started complaining that the product has not changed from an odorless gel to a horrifically stinky liquid. I bought this before with GREAT success (and I read up everywhere about its safety), but now...not willing to take the chance that I am putting some reformulated and maybe dangerous chemical in my house.
