Answer:	I would screen your chimney. But yes it will kill them the unit would have to be close to the opening. Note this makes a loud pop when a bug gets in the gris. NOTE: Bugs fly in front of the grid but does not get in it. I took a piece of furnace duct metal, cut a square init with a 1" flange sticking out the back , mounted a small bathroom exhaust fan to it. I then mounted the fan and metal plate to the back of the unit. the fan now sucks the bugs into the grid. Makes a 300 to 400 % improvement in bug kills. ( I should get a sizable royalty from the manufacturer for tilling them how to improve it.)

Answer:	Yes I run it 24/7. I have had this zapper for nearly 4 months now and will never do without it during the bug season in Iowa! I have it in the kitchen where the flys and nats love to be. Answer:	There is a small internal device that acts as a starter to make the bulbs light up. It sounds like that starter has gone bad. Contact Flowtron and send them the unit for repair.

Answer:	I've been using mine indoors for years because I don't really care about the bugs outside... I don't want them in my house. This model whacks bugs day and night. it doesn't stink... the hum is loud. Death to the flying insect.

Answer:	the UV light attracts a ton of bugs at night but day time not so much. The Octenol makes the thing a bug killing fiend but in day time it is lack luster and probably a waste. Every morning it is 100% covered and clogged from mosquitoes and i have to use my data vac to clean it off. I use the 1 acre and 1.5 acre one and both are 100% covered by morning but during the day they hardly kill anything. They work at night well even without the Octenol but it definitely helps to have it. I have terrible mosquitoes here and mine only kills a few so if you are not flooded with them it probably won't do much for you during the day. I have to go outside with bug spray at noon to keep the mosquitoes off -_-

Answer:	The two UV lights which attract the bugs are T8 type 10W each, they are bright enough to shine the whole living room. The actual thing that zaps the bugs once they arrive to the device is a grid or mesh of wires with 2800 Volts, that is very powerful to zap any bug. The system is very good, and I do recommend it. Advice: when you unplug it to replace he UV tube, do not touch the inside grid, it takes time for the high voltage to discharge completely. Wait at least 2 hours as they say in the manual.

Answer:	Until it rains. It would function properly but it's not suited for the elements. I wouldn't, and it specifically says "Indoor..."

Answer:	Yes it works great with mosquitos. Please remember, this is an indoor unit, so putting it outside as major bug zapper isn't what it is designed for. We tried one night and while it worked and killed lots of different bugs (especially mosquitos) it gets a bit overwhelmed and totally filthy with lots of outdoor bugs.

Answer:	It can be used anywhere indoors. The arc is quite loud and could startle or wake a baby if that is your concern. Make sure children or pets cannot reach it.
