Answer:	Detection depth varies with many factors. The size, shape, exact metal alloy, and orientation of the object in the ground are all important factors. Objects with greater surface area can be detected at greater depths. The size of the search coil, as well as Soil conditions & the amount of minerals in the soil are also factors in detection depth.

Answer:	I bought the unit for my wife and wasn't aware of the lack of volume control other then the one on the head phone. We both NEVER hunt without the headphones in place so it was never a problem.

Answer:	It detects gold very well! I lost my wedding band deep in a huge pile of shredded leafy mulch. It took awhile to find it, but when I got near it, it sang out like a banshee.

Answer:	HI! it only makes a sound over metal! =-) It is a really great little detector. In time my son (12 years ole and brilliant) LOL does want a more professional one that will actually filter out junk from the good stuff . Those are a few hundred dollars so that will be when he is much older. For now he LOVES this thing and when we bring it to the playground or beach he has a ton of little followers that are intrigued beyond belief. SO far my son has found an old belt buckle (1800's) old medicine bottle (again (1800's era) tons of coins. =-)

Answer:	The headphones that come with this bundle do not allow you to control the volume but if you go for the Garrett Clearsound Easystow Headphones you can control the volume.
Question:	Can this be used to find underground electrical cables
Answer:	Yes I used it for that for a friend. The way I found it is take a peice of electrical wire like your hunting for and see how it's pinging on your detector. Then when you get a hit mark it then go about it a foot or two away and go in a circle around it. If you get another hit that is straight from the marked spot go another foot in the same direction and see if you hit again. If not go on your other side just in case it's the other direction and do the same thing

Question:	how long do batteries last? can you use rechargeable energizer batteries? AA or AAA batteries
Answer:	Best to use Duracell (4) AA batteries. They should last 20-24 hours if new. Keep recirculating them as they loose power within the unit for max. use. I always keep an extra set in my carrying case for back-up and change after the ones in my unit are about 1/2 life left. You can use rechargeable but they won't last as long and you need to charge them up before you go out for max. efficiency. Happy Hunting!!!

1.In the area of highly mineralized ground, the detector will sound even if there is no metal. In this case, you can lower the sensitivity or increase the DISC numeric value. Meantime enhance the distance between the search coil and the ground.

2.In the area with trashy metal, you can set DISC numeric value to 50. In this case, most nails and small pieces of iron will be eliminated.

3.Metallic digging tools will also affect the detection if they are near the search coil. So it’s better to place them a little far away.
