Answer:	It is technically possible. They would have to be long enough. You would also need to buy an adapter that will reduce the 1/4” jack to an 1/8th. Also earbuds wouldn’t give you the noise cancellation of full sized headphones.

Answer:	Basically metal detectors can discriminate between ferrous and non ferrous metes but the can sometimes be offset by the size of the item it has on it's reference scale. Generally when detecting for gold the detector is comparing mass and metal type and larger size can mislead the readings. The do work well with small items like coins and jewelry like rings but gold bars are not normally what your going to fine in the field. Try the detector on some smaller items and keep in mind that other than gold coins gold can contain other metals like silver depending on the karat. Hope this helps and also depth plays a hand in this, you can try burring the item your testing and keep not on the numbers on the scale. You can also tell the difference between pure copper coins and copper zinc coins which read about 2 numbers different.

Answer:	Detection depth varies with many factors. The size, shape, exact metal alloy, and orientation of the object in the ground are all important factors. Objects with greater surface area can be detected at greater depths. The size of the search coil, as well as Soil conditions & the amount of minerals in the soil are also factors in detection depth.

Answer:	The coil is waterproof and you can use in a foot or so of water but saltwater and salty wet sand will give you continuous pings and chirps due to mineralization.

Answer:	Its only waterproof up to the electronics. I don't see why it would matter if it is used in salt or fresh water.

The decalcification cartridge for the SC 3 EasyFix is easily replacement and the indicator light on your SC 3 EasyFix will light up when it is time to change the cartridge and remain lit until you do so. The answer to your question will depend upon the water hardness level in your area. For example, if you have a water hardness level of 5 dH, one cartridge will last you around 75 hours. On the other end of the spectrum, if you have a water hardness level of 20 dH, you will need to replace your cartridge after around 30 hours of use. I hope this helps! Question:	hello which is the maximum penetration in dry ground
Answer:	Yes, as long as you consider the conveyor system metal below the item you are scanning. If you get too close to the floor while scanning people you can pick up re bar in the floor for a false reading.
Question:	how long do batteries last? can you use rechargeable energizer batteries? AA or AAA batteries
Answer:	no clue. Don't think its designed for that but you could call Garrett and ask. We use it for to find nails & screws in wood.
