They have a black body and look more like a chainsaw and less like a hedge trimmer. Older model fits in a chainsaw hard carry case.When it comes to the torque power of a well built motor used in an 18" chainsaw .... 1 Amp. means little. A 14 Amp worked to hard will pop the breaker in most homes without a dedicated outdoor power outlet. |

There might be something braking the sprocket itself but I am reluctant to completely disassemble the tool just to figure it out I’d suggest the company clarify the issue either by describing it or remove the “ kickback safety brake” phrase from the name. It is a GOOD tool, appropriate for backyard use. Unlike the ones used in forestry, an everyday person can handle it. The thickest pieces I cut with it were around six inches diameter and I followed the guidelines of avoiding a stuck chain. All in all, I have no personal information (in reading, seeing or experiencing) to confirm or deny the existence of this feature. |
