User questions & answers

Question: Can you use any kind of bar and chain oil
Answer: Hello there, The shortest working length for this pole saw is approximately 6.5 feet.
Question: What’s the difference between the new style and old style
Answer: I have been very happy with every GreenWorks Tool or Landscaping Item. My exception is this very item you are asking about! I brought it back to the store because I figured that I was just my siding something that prevented it from attaching as the manual described. The first salesperson in the department tried for 20 minutes, he then called the “head of the department “ who also could not figure it out they got a new one out to see if it was just a fluke. No, it was not. I would recommend going to the store for this item and getting someone to let you get a feel for it as well as let you see how they take apart and reassemble the floor model. If it is still a better deal on Amazon you can always go back and order it from them. But, to save the aggravation and the time you will spend trying it out at home... make sure you have actually been in store to try it. Not YouTube! We tried those tutorials also. But other than this item I am a huge GreenWorks fan! Good luck!!!
Question: What is the shortest length this can be used at
Answer: I can't say why because I don't know. Contact Amazon for a answer that could be more satisfying. I hope you get what you're looking for by way of a overage refund.😊🤔
Question: So which one is better? new style or old style
Answer: Hello there, Yes, all Greenworks G24V machines are compatible and interchangeable with all Greenworks G24V batteries and charger.

User questions & answers

Question: I have a greenworks 40v 2AH battery for another tool, can it be substituted in a pinch
Answer: Hello there, Yes all Greenworks 40V GMAX batteries are interchangeable with all Greenworks 40V GMAX machines are charger.
Question: How do I get my sew to cut. Chain came off i put it back on twice and it worked. Now is the third time it's came off ans it want cut
Answer: The chain fell off for me several times before I figured out that, in addition to adjusting the tightness of the chain with the cover off, you had to really tighten down the cover nut afterwards. Apparently, when a chain is new, it “stretches” some, so when using at first, finger-tighten it as much as you can (I’m not the strongest person, so maybe not as tight as *you* can:-). This problem will disappear after a use or two. If you put the chain back on and the saw won’t cut at all, the blade is on backward. I’ve been meaning to ask a knowledgeable person; would doing that be a viable way of sharpening the chain? Just curious.
Question: The manual says to charge the battery every two month. Instead, can I leave the battery on the charger all of the time when not in use
Answer: The reason why the battery needs to be charged every few months is because it employs an internal BMS (Battery management system). Most modern quality lithium batteries do these days. It keeps the cells in balance and prevents over charging and over discharging. They also don't require "smart" chargers because all of the smarts are in the battery pack itself. The minor drawback of BMS systems is that they draw a tiny amount of parasitic power all the time, so they will eventually discharge your cells. Leaving the battery on the charger should not hurt it because the BMS circuit in the battery pack prevents overcharge.
Question: Just received this from Amazon, manufactured on July 2013. Battery does not last long, anyone else having any problems with dated manufacture
Answer: " the saw turns off a lot. " If I bear down on it too much (overload) it shuts off; can restart immediately. Like a self-resetting circuit breaker. Saw is great for me, felling and cutting up dead trees for firewood, incl. Ash to 14 "Battery Date ( at end of SN - Serial Number ) is 12/05/16 Bought Summer or Fall, 2016?Battery label says "Charging . . . make sure battery is between 43 - 104 degrees F" so in winter, let it warm up before charging.

User questions & answers

Question: Can i use machine on st augustine in december
Answer: Yes, you can, as long as the ground is not wet, care needs to be taken not to totally destroy the stolon network in your lawn.
Question: Is this Greenworks 27022 10 amp 14" Corded Dethatcher self propelled
Answer: It is not. HOWEVER, the detaching action gently propels it forward. It is simple physics. You will like it.By the same physics, it dethatches nicely in the forward direction... if you drag it backwards it might dig-in a little... so just do a turn and continue.
Question: Is there a catch bag available for this model? or will the Sun Joe bag fit
Answer: Hello there, No, GreenWorks does not offer a bag for this unit as it does not collect well. It simply pulls thatch up to the surface. The Sun Joe bag would not be compatible.
Question: Does this work better than a pull behind dethatcher
Answer: This requires a heavy duty extension cord. If you use an extension cord that is too small for the length of the cord you'll have problems. I've seen several lawn care professionals and lawn care fanatics do YouTube videos on this and they all say about the exact same thing. It feels like a flimsy Tonka-Toy gadget, but it does a good job. Some people say to use this twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, although that is partly true, you can use this at a slightly higher setting almost weekly if you like. Most people do not mow often enough or their mower blades are not good mulching blades and the clippings are not small enough to quickly decay and return nutrients to the soil, and you end up with a bed of brown dead grass buried in the turf. Although not apparent to the naked eye to most people, these clippings dull the color of your lawn. If you go to YouTube and look up Pest and Lawn Ginja who owns a company that services 25+ lawns a day, he has a video of a lawn such as this and he ran over the lawn with one of these one direction, then gathered the dead grass and then went over the lawn again at a 90 degree angle and pulled up a lot more dead grass, and the end result was a MUCH better color to the lawn, and this will be a healthier lawn because there is better oxygen transfer to the soil. The reduced dead grass clutter (not thatch, just dead debris) will also reduce the chance of fungus problems from decaying and damp dead grass clippings that are not properly mulched. Most non-professional grade mowers do not have enough power to adequately spin the blades at a fast enough speed to cut the grass several times to properly mulch, or the blades are not kept sharp enough to do the job. For example, you should sharpen a mower blade about every 15,000 sq. ft. of lawn if you are mowing a thick Zoysia lawn. if you have a less dense turf type, probably every 25,000 sq. ft. would be good.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this brushless
Answer: Hello there, No, model 22262 is not brushless.
Question: can this use the GMAX 40V 4 amp battery
Answer: Yes. As long as each says GMAX. Battery sizes are interchangeable.
Question: Can this cut 1/2 in. to 1 in. bushes
Answer: I've cut 1/2 inch thick easily. I think it starts to have difficulty at 1 inch. My experience is limited to only a couple of varieties of woody bushes; I bet that some are sturdier than others depending on the variety of bush involved.
Question: Can I get this without battery? I already have the battery and charger from the Greenworks blower
Answer: Yes, just look up the GreenWorks 22332. Almost everything Greenworks makes has a battery option and a no-battery option for cheaper. Its usually more cost-effective to get it with the battery (maybe an additional $70 to add a $100 battery), but in your case you dont need it. Someone with a lawn mower, though, will ALWAYS appreciate an extra battery though.
