Answer:	The bottom ( strainer) unhooks from pump, then screw strainer to hull. Make sure to use correct length screws. Then snap pump back to strainer

Answer:	We returned ours as the white drawing area was peeling off in the folds/creases. So while I do not know for certain if it can be washed or not, I would probably not recommend it be washed. I do not think it's made of quality material that would hold up to anything more than a very light cloth with water.
