Answer:	You have to have a foot valve on the suction side and fill the suction/stand pipe as well as the pump up with water. Then you are primed. This is not a self priming pump

Question:	Besides the pump, what else do we need to buy to make the pump work? Please include the sizes of anything you mention
Answer:	Depends on what you're doing with it. I use my Wayne PLS100 to pump water out of four connected rain barrels up to my back yard (probably about 15 feet vertical and about 50 yards horizontal). Does a great job. I use 1" schedule 40 PVC pipe. You need 1" male NPT adapters for your pvc pipe to screw into the female inlet and outlet of this pump. Use rigid pipe on the intake, as recommended by specs, as the pump is quite powerful and will collapse a flexible intake hose. I don't know why they call this pump portable. It seems more suited to a permanent installation (like mine). Still works after 4 years, but of course, I drain it when it gets cold, and I make sure it's primed before running it. I used a foot valve on the intake (which is inserted into 1 of four connected rain barrels), which ensures the pump is always primed. I highly recommend a foot valve for the intake. If you're using 1" pvc, you would need another 1" male npt thread adapter, as most foot valves have female npt thread. On the output I simply have two 3/4" hose bib connectors for 1" pvc pipe, and I use standard hose bibs for connecting up to two garden hoses.I hope this helps.
Question:	We have about 60 psi from our source. Not enough for 4 sprinklers. What psi will this boost source pressure to
Answer:	I suspect the problem was not at 60 psi. You probably needed a pump with more GPM gallon per minute. In simple term, this pump gives you enough psi m but not enough volume of water. Maybe you need cut down to 2 to 3 sprinklers at a time.
Question:	Need to water trees 600ft away from home's city water outlet using 5/8 hose with this unit 100ft from source. Will it work with decent gpm at the end
Answer:	600 feet is a lot but if there's no head (rise from source) it should work. There are instructions included that show how to install the pump as a pressure booster to a city supply line. The problem you may find is that the pump pulls harder than the supply can provide water and you might collapse the hose on the supply side. If you install the pump at the source and let the pump push it the whole way that might work better. I push water up 6 feet and then push it 150 feet and get 8gpm. I'm on my second pump and the newer models are a little better.
Question:	The description says the debris strainer is internally built. How do you remove the debris to prevent it from clogging
Answer:	Unless they have modified the design, there is no internal debris strainer. You need a foot valve on the intake hose to do the straining.

Answer:	Mr. Jones, Your question is unique. This is a centrifugal pump, not pressure pump such as a multi-stage well pump. It pumps a high volume at a relatively low pressure in the 20 t0 90 pound range. This pump really doesn't even need bolts to secure it if on a level surface. If your are intent on using this pump, you will need either 3/8" or 5/16" bolts with washers and lock washers. It's a hell of a good pump for irrigation with water that is screened down to window size screening so as not to damage the pump.
Question:	I have an artesian well for my lawn which has a constant flow. No priming needed. Is this pump ok with this type of application
Answer:	To be honest I would not recommend this pump. If you read the fine print it requires an indoor installation. My pump ran for two days and then quit. The motor is made in China, and is not very durable. Spend the extra money and order the Flowtec 1.5 HP.

Answer:	I use my pump to irrigate my lawn in Florida so there is not too much of a rise but I would imagine it would pump at least 30 feet uphill.

Answer:	1.5 hp = 1118.55 watts so if running at 240 volts = 4.66 amps. In rush current (start up) can be 4 to 5 times more than running amps. If running on 120 volts = 9.3 amps same in rush of 4 to 5 times. 4 times would be over 37 amps. I am running this pump on 240 and a double pole 50 amp breaker. The wire run is 300 foot long. I am using 6 gauge wire. everything is well. I think a 30 amp double pole would do the trick since 5 times the inrush @ 240 volts is 23.3 amps. This will allow a smaller wire too 30 amps require 10 gauge. As always check your local codes. Use this info as a guide only. not responsible for any wrong info.

1.The max suction height is 7/23ft and it takes some time before automatic pumping.

2.Adding some pilotage water to the head of the pump will help accelerate the flow rate of inlet. The closer water inlet pipe and the pump is the better the effect.

3.Impurities are not allowed in the water and there is a jam if the diameter is more than 1mm.

Answer:	I would say it is normal. These pumps are not built for long running applications and after a few minutes they get hot. If long running is needed on a regular basis you may need a different pump. My use on 5 minutes on to refill the storage tank, then off for an extended time so it never gets very hot.
