Question:	Has anyone pulled one of these open to see what the motor shaft/impeller connnection is like ? i'm replacing a beckett cu-14-1 that had a press fit
Answer:	I pried the pump off the motor shaft. It is just a friction fit. The pump and check valve are an integral unit, so that the check valve is difficult to clean and is NOT replaceable. I devised a method with a garden hose to squirt hot water through the pump and out the check valve. My unit is 18 years old. I will put vinegar in the unit for over the Winter (or completely empty it) in the future.
Question:	Will this pump water up 8' to the ceiling area and then 40' across to a drain
Answer:	Ours travels about 8' up and then about 20' across to drain outdoors. I'll bet 40' would work fine, but I haven't tried it.

Answer:	First, I have been using this pump for many years and find it very reliable. I found some 1/2 inch vinyl tubing that I force fit over the pump outlet. You should be able to find a fitting in the plumbing department. Sorry I can’t give you a more direct answer.

Answer:	I don't think so, but Beckett is a reliable pump. I have another Beckett pump in my outside pond and I run it with a bottom filter all winter. Keeps the pond from freezing over most of the time, I guess because of the constant water motion and maybe the warmth of the motor. My pond is about 20+ inches deep.

Answer:	It does have an intake valve, but you have to cut part of the plastic end off (and thus voiding the warranty) to access it. I did this - though to attach a UV filter, not a hose. I didn't have a dremel, but it would have made it a lot easier to make that cut. There's probably a better pump you don't have to do this for. When this one goes on me, I'll find one I don't have to modify.

Answer:	Your question is a little vague... are you asking what size tubing you can attach? Or are you asking how high the pump will lift the water? It connects to 2inch inner diameter pipe on the outlet, and on the intake as well if you desire. I personally left the screen on the intake side and put an adapter on the outlet side and connected 3" pipe. The pump specs say it will lift 26feet high. I have about 35feet of 3inch pipe going to a Y, where it splits into 2 waterfalls.

Answer:	It is a plug in pump. I got it as a replacement for a small fountain in my yard. It was easy to install and is working beautifully. It is pumping about 12 inches, but should be strong enough for 20. It is strong.
Question:	what is this used fro
Answer:	I use this for a fountain. The fountain is an old galvanized bucket and a garden faucet on an eighteen inch galvanized pipe. The pump goes in the bucket. I have to cut the wire so that I can feed it through a hole in the bottom of the bucket. The cut area is outside the bucket. You can fill the bucket and it looks like water is coming out of the faucet and fill the bucket. Perfect pump

Question:	How do i use the plus & minus settings on the pump. Can't see a dial or switch
Answer:	This pump has recently changed. It used to contain the switch that you are referring to. But it is now using this rather funky flow valve which sits on top of the outlet instead of the older variable control on the motor that used to be in the bottom slot in the front. This change was certainly a cost saving innovation. But the company must have recently changed hands, and are maximizing their profits. I just bought a new one today. It is not like the old one. It was nearly twice the price--the last one I bought cost $10.99 and had the variable switch on the front as I noted. There was a phone number with the information and on the container it came in, so I called the company in Texas, to ask them why they had changed the design--I use it indoors for a cat water fountain and I have very little clearance the flow control mechanism goes higher than I want to go--and what I could do now that it the package was open, but that number is not helpful--it is a number to a series of sales gimmicks trying to get your personal information with numerous (6 I think) teasers, at the end of which they said the number had recently changed, when I called that 800 number I was offered a "free" Caribbean Cruise, if I just gave them my personal information. I'm not making this up!

Question:	we prefer to use the tube to make a waterfall (not a fountain). Is that possible with this unit
Answer:	this unit is very powerful - in my opinion, it has enough output to handle a waterfall. make sure you have extra filters on hand or make sure you regularly clean the filter that comes with the unit - it prevents a world of gunk from clogging the impellers inside the pump, especially if you have fish.
Question:	Our pond is 3 feet deep. If I bought extra extension tubes, is the pump powerful enough to push the water over 4 feet to make a fountain
Answer:	my pond is 2 ft deep, and it works well in my pond, but I'm planning on making mine deeper to 3 ft next month, I would think it would be fine but I'm not 100% sure.

Question:	With the 2 extension tubes attached to the pump how deep of water can the pump be placed in
Answer:	Here is an update on the pump.. I purchased a bigger pump that does 1350 gpm at Harbor Freight it is on sale for 59.00 and is 1/6 hp. I needed something stronger for my water fall tubes which is a total of 6. I may use this pump just a fountain feature. Its a good pump, but for my application, I needed something a little more powerful.
