13 best decaf teas
Decaffeinated teas, commonly known as decaf teas, are a type of tea that has undergone a process to remove most of the caffeine content while retaining the flavor and aroma of the tea leaves. Here's what you need to know about decaf teas:
Decaffeination Process: There are several methods used to decaffeinate tea, but the most common one involves using carbon dioxide (CO2) or ethyl acetate as solvents to extract the caffeine from the tea leaves. The tea leaves are steamed or soaked in the solvent, and the caffeine is removed through a series of filtration and extraction steps.
Caffeine Content: While decaf teas are not completely caffeine-free, they typically contain significantly less caffeine than regular teas. The exact caffeine content can vary depending on the type of tea and the decaffeination process used, but it is usually around 2-5% of the original caffeine content.
Varieties: Decaffeinated teas are available in various types, including black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and even white tea. This means that you can enjoy your favorite tea varieties without the stimulating effects of caffeine.
Flavor and Aroma: The decaffeination process aims to preserve the natural flavor and aroma of the tea leaves as much as possible. However, some people may notice a slight difference in taste compared to regular teas. This is because caffeine can contribute to the overall flavor profile of the tea.
Health Benefits: Decaf teas still offer many of the health benefits associated with tea, such as antioxidants and potential improvements in heart health and digestion. Additionally, they are a good option for people who are sensitive to caffeine or want to enjoy tea in the evening without the risk of disrupting their sleep.
Preparation: Decaf teas are brewed in the same way as regular teas. You can use hot water, typically around 180-212°F (82-100°C), and steep the tea for the recommended time, usually 3-5 minutes for black or green decaf teas, and longer for herbal varieties.
Availability: You can find decaf teas in most grocery stores, specialty tea shops, and online retailers. They are often packaged in tea bags or as loose-leaf tea.
Flavor Variations: Just like regular teas, decaf teas come in a wide range of flavors and blends. Some popular options include decaffeinated Earl Grey, decaf chai, and decaffeinated fruit-infused herbal teas.
In summary, decaf teas are a suitable choice for individuals looking to reduce their caffeine intake while still enjoying the flavors and potential health benefits of tea. They are available in various types and flavors, making it easy to find a decaffeinated tea that suits your preferences.

Brewing Tea Bags
Whether you prefer your tea bagged or loose, always start with freshly drawn cold water. If using a teapot, warm the inside first with hot water, then pour it out.*Black Tea-4 minutes*-*Chai Tea-5 minutes*-*Green Tea-2 minutes*-*Herbal Tea-4 minutes*-*Oolong Tea-3 minutes*-*Red Tea-4 minutes*-*White Tea-1 minute*-*Cold Brew Iced-5 minutes*
Tea Bags
Bring water to a boil*, and pour over the tea as soon as it reaches boiling. Over-boiling will cause oxygen to be reduced, making the tea taste 'flat'. Use 1 tea bag per cup, or 1 teaspoon of loose tea per cup (6 oz.). Steep the tea for the required time as indicated above. Never judge tea by its colour. Colour comes more quickly, but flavour takes a bit longer to develop. Allow the correct steeping time to fully extract the best flavour. Adjust the amount of tea you use and the steeping time to your taste. "The best cup of tea is the one you like the most."

Who We Are
We've had a deep fascination with flavor for 130 years – and we believe you can taste the difference.
We’re a UK independent family tea company and our story starts back in 1886. We have strong family values and a love for fairness, quality, creativity and treating our partners and suppliers with respect.
We re-invest part of our profits in community and environmental projects, to make a continued difference to the quality of our tea and to the lives of the people who grow it.
Our teas and infusions stand on the shoulders of more than a century of tea-making history and passion. And we're completely, utterly devoted to the pursuit of extraordinary flavor.
Giving Back
Taylors is committed to supporting people and planet, both in the Yorkshire region where we’re based and in our global tea and coffee supply chain. We see investment in community and environmental projects as critical to support our long term future, and work to grow strong, lasting relationships, sometimes over decades, to make a continued difference to the quality of our teas and to the lives of the people who grow them.
Our team of tea and coffee buyers spend many months a year overseas so we see firsthand the difference we’re making to the communities we rely on for our tea and coffee. It’s not always easy and many of the challenges within our global supply chain are deep-rooted and complex, but we’re proud of our commitment, the progress made so far, and deeply grateful for the on-going support and commitment we receive from suppliers and partners.
Taylors Sourcing Approach
(TSA) is our model for how we buy our tea and coffee. Rather than simply ‘buying a commodity’, TSA is a way of buying which allows us to build the supply chain we want and need for the future. At its heart is a commitment to put our values at the center of how we buy, underpinned by long-term relationships with key strategic suppliers.
The Environment
By reducing our environmental impacts, both within our own operations and our supply chain, and by planting trees and supporting other carbon capture and reduction projects, we’re working towards making our tea and coffee range ‘carbon neutral’.
Improving Livelihoods
The tea and coffee sector is highly dependent on the smallholders who grow 80% of the world’s coffee and 70% of global tea production. Decreasing farm size, access to and cost of soil inputs, rudimentary farming methods, lack of investment in infrastructure and increasingly unpredictable weather and patterns, are all impacting on smallholders’ ability to make a living.
Resilient Communities
We’re committed to ensuring the communities in which our suppliers, smallholders and workers are based are resilient and sustainable for the future. Together with our key suppliers, we work to understand the challenges their communities face and support projects and initiatives to address them. These vary in scale and reach, from small timebound partnerships with suppliers, to significant industry collaborations.

User questions & answers
Question: | What material are the tea bags themselves made of |
Answer: | The box I received with 50 teabags was ones that were tag less and not individually wrapped. Kind of prefer the ones with tags that are individually wrapped but still very good tea. |
Question: | Can I buy more of the honey sticks |
Answer: | I ordered this as a gift, so I no longer have it to check on the honey sticks. But as best I can remember, there were quite a few of them, I'd guess at least 20. This item is packaged differently than in the picture. The tea arrived in a plain white box, approximately 8" long 3" wide, with the packet of honey sticks stuck to the outside. I was disappointed the packaging was not more "giftish." |
Question: | Any calories ? Sugar |
Answer: | All are real herbal tea |
Question: | Do the wrappers have the ingredients of each tea bag listed |
Answer: | Yes...decaf/caf-free |

User questions & answers
Question: | are these pods compatible with the 2.0 Keurig |

Question: | With the swift pass-thru of the Keurig style does the tea get enough time to steep |

Question: | does it fit the keurig machine |
Answer: | Yes, it fits the regular keurig machine. Not sure about the "view" machine or the new one with the carafe. |
Question: | The pictured k-cup will not work in new Keurig 2.0 even tho it takes k-cups. Have they updated this product to work in the Keurig |
Answer: | I just purchased a box of the Chai Latte in a Keurig 575 (a 2.0 machine) worked fine. This was in August. |

User questions & answers
Question: | So was this changed or not? What is the actual bag count |
Answer: | I bought in a coffee tea shop but they are sold all over |
Question: | looking for decaf lipton tea bags individually in it' own bag |
Answer: | None |
Question: | so is this 144 bags total or 2 bags (288 bags) of tea? Because it says is $.06 per bag so there should be 288, but it seams this is just deceiving |
Answer: | Yes the ingredients are listed on each wrapper |
Question: | Is this a total of 288 tea bags |
Answer: | Black, green, oolongs, white - all these teas have caffeine. The caffeine content in tea is approx. 1/3 of caffeine of coffee. Caffeine level is very similar in all these types of tea as they all come from the same plant Camellia Sinensis. Teas can be decaffeinated through a special process. Also, you may opt for herbal infusions that are made from plants, that don't contain any caffeine, such as Chamomile, Peppermint, Rooibos (also called red tea), and many many others! |

English Breakfast is our most popular tea. To create this well-balanced blend, we carefully select the finest teas from five different regions, each with its own unique characteristics.
Tea from Kenya and Malawi provides the briskness and coppery-red colour while Assam gives full-body and flavour. The robustness from these regions is complemented by the softer and more subtle teas from China and Indonesia. The combination of these varieties yields a complex, full-bodied, lively cup of tea that is perfect any time of day.

Tea with a History
In a time when coffee was king, one man, Thomas Twining, went against the tide to share his love of tea. His passion turned a little-known drink into the nation’s favorite hot beverage. For us, tea is more than just a drink. It's been part of our daily lives and the lives of generations of tea lovers for over 300 years.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this regular tea or black tea |
Answer: | The product page for the Twinnings tea has multiple selections for both flavor and size. One of the size options is 20 Count (Pack of 6) but another option is 20 Count which is just a single box. I was just looking at the Winter Spice flavor and noticed that the Pack of 6 for that flavor actually costs more than 6 times the cost of the single box. So it's worth checking the different options. |
Question: | Is each teabag individually wrapped |
Answer: | I actually bought the box for my niece away at college. But, if memory serves me correctly, I believe that all of the tea bags are not individually wrapped. They come in one sealable bag. |
