Answer:	All humidifiers create "White dust" This is caused by the water vapor drying and leaving mineral deposits. Use distilled or RO/DI water to mitigate this. If using it again, distilled water ONLY for you. This really is a great humidifier however, the mist is cool and fine - the hygrometer is accurate and it remains moist in there. Just gotta ensure you use the correct water!

Answer:	No, it's made to snap into a panel cutout. Also, I don't know really how much I'd rely on the numbers. I use it to gauge the temp in my office and mostly I compare the differences form day to day as opposed to knowing exactly what the temp is.

The large (main) display is the humidity and the temperature is displayed (small digits) in the upper right-hand corner. There is no switch to switch humidity and temp to what the main (large digits) display is though. Hope this answers your question.

Question:	Will this work with a tenor ukulele
Answer:	Do not know. Check hole measurement compared to product dimensions and that should point you in the right direction.
Question:	Is the humidifier good for electric guitars or is it for acoustic only
Answer:	This humidifier is intended to hang in the sound hole of an acoustic guitar, but if you put it in the case along with the guitar, it should work. I did that for an acoustic where the case would not allow it to fit. I put it in a small sock to avoid scratching of finishes. So it could work for an electric.
Question:	will this work in a 12 string
Answer:	I would think so. The tub slides down in between the strings. Even on a 6-string, those strings need to stretch a little apart. Shouldn't be much different on a 12-string.
Question:	Are replacement sponges available for purchase? I've always used distilled water but, my sponge has black spots now

Answer:	Make sure it’s cold out. No open windows bc then would be pointless. Hit the top left humidistat button to select then power and let run on highest mist until it reaches that number. And a green check ✅ will appear and keep off until it needs to come on again. Also make sure there is water in it.
Question:	If I cut off power to it while it's running then reconnect power supply, will it resume running with the previous settings

Answer:	It uses three 12 hour time blocks (36 total hours) per the 7/19/16 response and automatically resets. This screws up being able to determine the 24 hour hi-lo I was used to with another model. I much prefer the one that auto resets every 24 hours from battery insertion. On the latter, by inserting the batteries at midnight, a daily hi-lo was always available. With the 36 hour look-back this daily Hi-Lo feature is totally useless IMO.

Answer:	You might want to check out my review of this product (written 11/17/15). I bought 3 of these, compared them to each other for accuracy in temp and humidity and gave detailed results. Overall summary is, 2 of the units were pretty good with both humidity & temp accuracy (most likely acceptable for most people's use), the 3rd monitor was not. It's a crap shoot as far as getting one that's in the satisfactory range of accuracy for both readings, I think.

Question:	With the hygrometer part removed, what are the dimensions of just the sponge compartment? I have a concern that it may be too tall for my guitar
Answer:	The compartment which holds the sponge is 4" high. The hygrometer, assembled and ready to fit between the strings of a guitar, is 4 1/4" high. I love this hygrometer and have two of them for my more expensive guitars. I only have to refill them about every ten days here in the Arizona desert, and I love being able to see exactly what the humidity is in my guitar cases.
Question:	Will this put stress on the strings from the case pressing down on it, or is there enough space? I have a Taylor with the factory hard case
Answer:	I own a Taylor 414 with the factory hard case, and have had no issues at all with this. There is a bit more lateral strain on the strings with this than I've had with other humidifiers, but I haven't noticed negative effects. I'm assuming this is so it fits well with classical guitars as well.
Question:	Would this be suitable for violin
Answer:	As far a being able to humidify the instrument, yes, but it is not made for violin. It is supposed to hang from the strings of a guitar into the body of the instrument. The only way to use this with a violin would be to lay it in the case. It would most likely leak and also not necessarily get the humidity to the right areas. My advice to you would be to find one specific to violin.
Question:	Does this item leak inside the guitar when the guitar case is kept in the standing position as opposed to the lying down position? Thanks
Answer:	I now have 5 acoustics, all with the HH. I've stored the guitars in every way, except upside down, and there has been no dripping. I was concerned too but make sure to wring a little of the water out of the sponge before installing it. Even so, i get 2-3 weeks above 45% humidity while living in the 25% humidity west. The thing gives me peace of mind, not worries. Hope that helps.
