Answer:	That would be low range. High range is supposed to be 100'. I have not done an actual experiment to test that. I have actually use mine 30 to 40 feet away. It has always worked reliably there.

Answer:	I dont know what's involved with Storm Chasing, but it will tell you the speed of the wind plus average speed. That is all I use it for. Hope that helps.

Answer:	No,it is not I know from my experience I used it outside for three hours in the pouring rain and wind it stopped working until I took battery out and blew water out and let dry. It's water resistant but not waterproof

Answer:	No contrast adjustment that I know of but there is a back light. But there is a back light that might help. Check your battery. It is a bit sensitive to your viewing angle so hold it directly in line with your eyes. But I repeat, check your battery.

Answer:	My manual was in Chinese, so I played with the buttons. Push "reset" momentarily four times and you should scroll through max, min, speaker, and then degrees. Push "max/min" quickly and you should be in degrees F. Good luck.

Answer:	I have a model 2000, but according to the spec sheet they are all the same. It reads -20-158 degrees F. Probably wouldn't work very well in Alaska!

Answer:	The answer is YES it does come with a power supply and a cord. This powers the back lit LED color changing viewing screen. It also needs 4 AA batteries to work for the readings temp. time, pressure, ect.

Answer:	the receivers and transmitters have dip switches inside you toggle to change channels, so I would think you could set each receiver on the same channel and pick up the same transmitters

Question:	Will the system work on a local home network only? Without a connection to the web/cloud. If my internet goes out,can I still see data while at home
Answer:	Yes! Once it's set up, your Smart Weather Station transmits weather data over Bluetooth and across your local WiFi network. That means (as long as your Hub has power) you can still see data from your station through the app if your Internet connection goes down. If power to the Hub is lost, the AIR & SKY devices will continue to collect and store data, sending it along once power is restored.
Question:	When the batteries powered by the solar panel need to be replaced is it easy to do or does it require replacement by the company
Answer:	It’s easy, just twist the case and the battery case is exposed. The instructions said if you use solar attachment...don’t need batteries

Answer:	If you are able to mount the SKY above nearby objects you will get a better wind fetch. However, it's important to keep the mount and mast sturdy, free from vibrations as any motion will be detected as rain by the haptic sensor which can become pronounced in strong winds on unstable mounts.
Question:	Does this unit come with the solar panel as shown in the photo? And, with the solar panel, will the batteries last longer than 1 year
Answer:	Yes the station kit includes a solar panel accessory! The solar panel's rechargeable battery should last approximately 5 years. On a full charge, the battery in the solar panel will provide power to the SKY unit for about 30 days in full overcast conditions. AA batteries are not supposed to be used in tandem with the solar panel accessory. SKY can use 8 AA batteries or the solar panel accessory. The AIR unit requires 4 AA batteries.

The Ambient Weather WM-5 allows you to track weather in the palm of your hand! Radio/TV reports cover a large area, but WM-5's data is specific to your location. It measures wind speed, wind direction, temperature, relative humidity and compass direction, and calculates wind gust, dew point, wet bulb and dry bulb temperature, Delta T, wind chill and heat index. The Honeywell humidity sensor and the Swiss-made barometer can be easily re-calibrated and the unit has a weather alert if the barometric pressure rises or falls 6 millibars over 3-hrs.

Answer:	It measures pressure altitude, not density altitude. There is a slight difference. Pressure altitude is based on pressure and temperature. Density altitude is a function of pressure, temperature and humidity.
Question:	Can the altitude be measured in feet? Or is it meters only
Answer:	feet, it is all metric or all standard measurements.
Question:	How accurate is it? How happy are you with it after using it for a while
Answer:	Used it for an ocean navigational training expedition back in May 2014. Determined the anemometer, thermometer, etc. were accurate. But what we didn't do is try it 6 times a day in snow and rain for a month, drop it on deck, and shove it in a wet pocket between times. So I don't have positive data as to its ruggedness.
