Answer:	Check that your batteries are charged to 1.5. If you don't have a way (voltage meter) to check, try brand new batteries that are new off the store shelf. For the sync-up process, the batteries must be 1.5 or better. It's the #1 problem we see.

Answer:	All outdoor sensors should use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries. Alkalines will freeze, rechargables start at a max of 1.4 v and drop to 1.2 v fairly quickly and do not like extreme cold. They do not work in Iowa winter. All my external sensors use AA Ultimate Lithiums and last the entire winter, even at -15 below zero F. I change them out every Fall.

Answer:	If I may say, you might want to reconsider a product from LaCrosse. I have had an s85814 weather station for about 3 years and it currently serves as the night light in my bedroom. It never worked and LaCrosse wasn't much help. The temperature outside was always off by close to 20 degrees. Don't do it, you'll regret it!

Question:	Can i reset the comfort range? 79 degrees f is much too high to be comfortable imo
Answer:	Actually the temp does have a bearing on the comfort indicator as amorina states. It will need to be a minimum of 20 degrees and between 50 and 70% humidity to indicate as comfortable. I agree with you that this is a little high and perhaps 18 would be ok. Other sources state that 40% humidity is ideal so who knows!I think just go with what feels right. In answer to your question though unfortunately the comfort range can not be reset or altered.

Answer:	In China. I bought 3 of them, but don't find them useful. The setting for humid, dry, comfort is inaccurate for a relativity level reading in a home environment. At least in the Midwest region. They say 49% is dry when in fact it's too much for a home to carry, at least in the winter colder temps.

Answer:	This is probably too late to be of use to the original poster, but maybe it will help someone. I purchased mine in March of '17 and the unit just died on me this past weekend, I was still using the original battery. I changed the battery and the thermometer was still dead, but that's less than $10 for nearly 2 years of service on a single battery.

Answer:	Calibrate means that you adjust your measuring tool (e.g. thermometer, hygrometer, speedometer, etc.) to give a known value when it's measuring (detecting) that value; you usually do this by adjusting a screw or other mechanism that results in the unit showing a 'reading', or measurement, of that known value on its display or output. This unit does NOT have any calibration adjustment.

My experience is batteries will last about 5 weeks if the temperature stays above freezing. Sensor position matters too. My sensor is about 12 meters from the receiver, and the signal has to pass through 5 wood frame walls.

Question:	Is the display visible when not using the backlight
Answer:	Yes but poorly when you use the backlight, and it depends from what angle you are viewing it. It is excellent looking down on it from more than 10 degrees. Looking directly at it it is 90% visible. As you tilt it backward it rapidly becomes unreadable (looking up at it). I bought this to put on the wall of my rv and the backlight was completely useless

Answer:	I never had a problem with that. My only problem is the remote sensor is registering the wrong temperature. When I suspected this, i brought the monitor in and put it side by side with the main unit. Was off 4 degrees. My AC thermostat said 74, the main ThemoPro unit said 74, but the remote sensor was transmitting 78 degrees. So it's pretty much useless for what I bought it for.
Question:	how far away will the remote sensor read back to the unit
Answer:	The promotion materials on the Amazon website indicate 200'; with good penetration of walls, etc. Our sending unit is located about 50' away from the receiver; hung under a carport to better protect it from the weather; and the signal must penetrate a brick wall to enter the house. We are extremely pleased with it; particularly the large display and back-lighting features; which make it easy to read from across the room by a visually-impaired person. It will probably live up to the 200' straight-line distance claim; but might be affected by obstacles in the line-of-sight; such as parked cars, trees, walls, etc. Hope this is helpful.

Answer:	I don't know for sure, but they would communicate on the same frequency, so it would depend on the distance between the units. I don't think they would jam or interfere with each other.

Answer:	I have not I have looked up and found a couple that look the same but I cant guarantee that they are compatible so I have not purchased. Too bad because I would like to get one myself

Answer:	Just change the batteries in the base and remote units. The base unit batteries should last quite a while. The remote unit batteries have a shorter life span due to temperature extremes.

Answer:	We have two sets, and yes, I'm afraid they do. I have one set upstairs and a sensor right outside my sliding door and that readout is registering fine. But one sensor is crossing over to one of the sensors downstairs. The other sensor is okay because it's in the room only a few feet away and the readout from it is fine. The downstairs unit has a sensor on our back porch and that readout is fine. But the other readout is registering from my sensor upstairs. So, yes it's confusing and we haven't figured out a way to keep them all separated....................

Question:	What is the thickness measurement of the outdoor sensor? I live in an apartment and must place it between a window and a screen
Answer:	Here are the measurements: 3/4" (at 'hanger' end) to 5/8" thick (main body of sensor). it is 5" high and 1.5' wide. It would certainly fit between the window and the screen; however, my husband says you may not get a true temperature reading because it would pick up the heat from the window even though it is outside. Can you put it on the window sill on the outside of the screen? That is where I have ours and it works fine. Has not fallen off our brick window sill even though it is slightly slanted. Hope this helps....

Answer:	Hi Linda. Mine appears to be within 1°F. Plenty good enough to monitor the weather. As a standard, I have a 14" Fisher mercury in glass laboratory thermometer accurate to 1/4°F, which I trust. I use two display stations (upstairs and downstairs) running off one outdoor transmitter. They both read exactly the same at all times and are now about 2 years old. Hope this is helpful. Don
Question:	does it work in very cold weather, negative degrees
Answer:	We live in Texas. It was fine for 4 years until our first cold front came in 2 weeks ago. We went down to 60 F when the sensor stopped working. I ordered a new sensor with amazon. That one stopped working after 3 days when the next cold front came in at 55 F. What a terrible waste of money. I'll be calling La Crosse on Monday.

DASHES for OUTDOOR temp: lost connection with sensor and display, attempt RESTART (below)

CHANNELS (CH button) check other channels for any interference receiving from your display

RESISTANCE/DISTANCE: obstructions (such as: walls, windows) can reduce range; Any metal can cause interference so check -Proper distance (can range up to 330ft in open air)

RESTART:

1. Have display and outdoor sensor units at least 5 feet apart with nothing between them.

Recommend: brand-name, standard alkaline batteries (expiration date: 7 years ahead of current year, or tested 1.48v on voltmeter) TIP: Avoid rechargeable or lithium batteries in display

2. Remove all batteries from both display and sensor(s)

3. Press any button to completely discharge residual electricity. Leave batteries out for 10 minutes (both sensor & display)

4. Check correct polarity install batteries first into sensor. Then, install new batteries into display. Leave units within 5 ft (no obstructions) for 15 mins for good connection.
