User questions & answers

Question: Does Amazon have a package deal that includes a case with the white "600" model
Answer: I did not see a package offer when I was buying mine.
Question: how thick is the width? and is this "real" wood or particle board
Answer: The width is the same as my cell phone. The wood is solid of course. The top sides and back may be laminate but by no means is it some cheap "particle board".. Remember the cost is budget friendly and the materials are too. But Yamaha has a very nice sounding and playing guitar here for a very reasonable price. In my 40 years of playing is it the best..no..is it a great guitar for the price...Absolutely!
Question: What is a good gig bag for this
Answer: I bought the hard case for it and it fits perfect. Case has a small cubby for strings, picks, strap. Can't help you with a soft gig bag. Yamaha AG2-HC Hardshell Acoustic Guitar Case for APX and NTX Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01D53JG5I/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apap_jzHYy5wurOYGp
Question: how wide is the body in inches? my rogue rd80 (dread) is 16" wide and i hate it, im looking for something smaller than
Answer: This guitar is 42.2 x 5 x 19.7 inches. It doesn't seem like a child's guitar at all. I'm quite small and it's very comfortable. If the specs are not on the Amazon page where it is sold, it should not be trusted. I bought the 400 when it came out and the 600 when the 500 was no longer available. If size is important, I would try one at a guitar or music store.

  • Meranti back & sides
  • Rosewood fingerboard & bridge, natural finish
  • Strings scale 25.6 inches, body depth 3.15 - 3.3 inches, finger board width (Nut/Body) 2.05 inches

User questions & answers

Question: How wide is the neck of the guitar around the top 5 frets
Answer: About 2 inches.
Question: does the 1/2 size have a two tone top? The picture shows a slight line running down the middle that appears to be two tones/two pieces
Answer: Yes, the top is two pieces of laminated spruce. This is a standard practice for just about every guitar manufacturer.
Question: I'm a 4'10" adult with tiny baby hands. Looking for smaller guitar so certain chords are easier to play. Which size should I get
Answer: This probably won't do, as the fretboard is rather wide. A parlor guitar is more your fit. The Little Martin or be the Peavey Composer is small, but sound good. Check them out.
Question: Is there an option to have it strung for a left-handed child
Answer: You can always string a guitar backwards, but as a lefty who plays right-handed, I'd strongly urge having the child learn the normal way. So many times you wind up at a party where there's a guitar, and if you can't play it because you've learned a non-standard way, you've severely limited your opportunities. Besides, the left hand which does the fretting has an advantage for a lefty.

User questions & answers

Question: Is it high or low action
Answer: In my opinion it's extremely HIGH. It was so high that I took it to my guitar luthier who said " it's unplayable like that" He had to shave off a little of the bridge, adjust the Nut grooves and dress a couple of high frets at the 12th to get it in reasonable shape and for myself to be happy with it. The bass E is 2mm above the 12th fret now so within bounds. She plays and sounds okay but it's not my favourite guitar by a long chalk to be honest. Spends more time in its case!
Question: Is it comfortable
Answer: This was my first guitar. I found it very comfortable but then I bought a Taylor mini. Each has its place I still play then both
Question: What is the nut width? (inches
Answer: 1.75" -Jesus The Music Store
Question: my old yamaha drives me nuts, because of the buzz sounds with the strings. If I buy this one will it buzz
Answer: One of the best options is to use the buzz in your style. No doubt it’s not an all out buzz all of the time. So incorporate it as an emphasis at certain pints. Old phenomenal guitarists played what they had, got really good at it and used funky quirks on their guitar to add some flavor. The other option. Play each string at each fret, isolate the buzz and decide what the next option is. If the guitar has been climate controlled and is in a steady state, you may find sanding the buzzing fret down (just on the string that buzzes), with the fretboard well protected with a high grit paper, the right answer. This could also be the beginning of chasing the buzz down the neck to the next fret. It could be a nut or bridge adjustment that’s the answer. Truss rod is not where the adjustments usually start. My point, it comes down to a proficient luthier or someone who might be willing to take the time to get everything right. Cheap guitars can sometimes sound great after a $1000 in labor or equivalent time has been invested. Guitars aren’t a set it and forget it object. Nature works against them and time can be an enemy. If you’re really serious, you’ll take it somewhere regularly to have it tweaked to fight the elements working against it. Anyway, Americans spend $1,000s on frivolous hobbies. This is a pretty cheap one if you start with a decently constructed guitar and then just figure you’ll care for it over the years. Either learn to do the maintenance yourself or pay someone whose invested their time to learn it... or barter. One cool thing if you learn the craft, you can find old guitars and go through them, make the adjustments and get some very unique stuff that’s cool in its own way. Yamaha is a solid built instrument —from their drums to guitars to pianos. A buzz is definitely no reason to avoid the brand. Otherwise, every brand and nearly every model will be a problem at some time or other.

  • Hardshell Acoustic Guitar Case, Electric Guitar
  • Fits Yamaha Pacifica Series, Revstar Series, and most electric guitars
  • Plush inner lining
  • Upgraded gold latches and hinges

User questions & answers

Question: My EG case came without a key. Can anyone tell me where to get one
Answer: These keys are generally generic. One key fits all. These locks only make it harder to open without a tool so they don't open by accident. Locking a case makes no sense except for air cargo or other transportation safety issues. They are NOT theft protection. A thief can easily carry the entire case with them if they want to really steal what's inside.
Question: What is the lower body width
Answer: The case is about 18 in at the bottom.
Question: I have and acoustic electric gutitar, what hard shell should I buy being that it is 40 inches
Answer: Only buy cases specifically for electric guitars or it will not fit
Question: Will my Yamaha Pacifica 112j left handed guitar fit this case properly
Answer: your left handed pacifica 112j should fit (if you take the trem arm off) the case will accommodate a large variety of solid body electric guitars, I have an rgx612s and I like this case because the geometry of the neck support allows for the tilt back headstock on that model. I had to add some padding to the waist because the lower bout on my guitar was narrower than the case.

SRT Powered Technology

SRT Powered is a new system designed to recreate the body resonance of an acoustic guitar in a bodiless guitar. Yamaha developed SRT Powered, collaborating with recording artists to create a system tailored to the unique properties of the new SLG body and modeled after the tones of a high-end Yamaha acoustic guitar captured using a carefully selected microphone in a professional recording studio environment.

By actually reproducing the sound of an acoustic guitar—right down to its natural sustain and decay—Yamaha lets guitarists experience the genuine body resonance and tone of an acoustic guitar, while avoiding the need for a microphone when recording. SRT Powered sound can even be mixed with the sound from the instrument's piezo pickups, allowing guitarists to be even more flexible in their creative endeavors.

User questions & answers

Question: does it come with a hard case
Answer: Not sure on this one. My solid wood LS16 model comes with a hard case.
Question: How long is nut for this Yamaha LS
Answer: Looks like 1 3/4 nut width . Super nice guitar !
Question: Is this a dreadnought or a jumbo? Here it says dreadnought, elsewhere on the internet it says jumbo. Thank you
Answer: More of an OM size guitar shaped a little bit like a mini jumbo. Have a 10 year old rosewood model. Replace the saddle and bridge pins with bone and you'll be amazed by the sound. Never selling mine. I think the LS6 actually sounds better than the more expensive solid wood LS16. Given a choice between the two I'd go for the LS6, costs less sounds better. And because the back and sides of the LS6 are made of plywood (still very expensive, rosewood plywood is not cheap) it's actually a very strong guitar build wise.
Question: Why are some designated as solid rosewood and other not
Answer: Those that are solid rosewood have solid rosewood sides and backs. Those that are simply labeled "rosewood" are laminated backs and sides. Solid woods have better and louder sounds and improve more readily with age. Of course, solid wood is more expensive. Hope this helps.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this an adult size guitar? is it light
Answer: The package says that it has a Yamaha PAC012, which I bought recently for my 10 year old daughter who is a new player. It is a full sized guitar, but not too big for a young player to start with. It is also not too heavy and its comfortable to hold. It has been a very good starter guitar for her. We bought only the guitar, not the package. Here is the guitar listing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002GZWZ0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Question: Does the back of the guitar also have sunburst? Or is it flat black
Answer: The back also has sunburst. It's an exceptionally well-crafted, beautifully finished guitar.
Question: Can you use this guitar to play music like centuries from fall out boys all the way to more than a feeling from boston
Answer: It will do anything a Fender Stratocaster will do. More Than A Feeling used a heavily processed guitar sound, as I recall. I don't know if this type of guitar will nail that sound, but you can probably come close. The issue is going to be the effects you add. I don't know the Fall Out Boys music so I have no comment about that.
Question: Where do put the battery in the guitar
Answer: There's no battery.

User questions & answers

Question: Can it be configured for left-handed player
Answer: I'm afraid not. I got mine to go on a electric guitar, all it came with was the strap, the string cord like you would see on some acoustics and 2 felt or rubber bushings.. That was it. I purchased Dunlop strap locs for mine to assure it not coming off. Since a Ukulele is much smaller, you might try that in a strap loc search on Amazon... They might have something. :)
Question: Which adaptor should i buy for this
Answer: Hi, thank you for your message. Please kindly note it's a strap designed for acoustic guitar, electric guitar and even bass. Thank you!
Question: So will this actually teach me how to play an actual guitar or just this ez teaching guitar
Answer: Hi, thank you for your message. Please kindly note the width for this strap is about 2.4". It's wider than normal size. Thank you.
Question: No bag for it
Answer: Hi, thank you for being interested in this strap. Please kindly note the shortest length for this one is about 37.8 inches including the two ends. Thanks!
