Answer:	Being an older single woman I tried to do it the easiest way-which worked. I used two bungee cords to attach it to a tree. The bungee cords also make it easy to refill the basket. I have a great picture that shows a flicker and one of the cords, but it won't let me attach it.

Answer:	Hi, You can use any of the following: shelled peanuts, shelled pistachios, cashews, nut and fruit mix, almonds, pecans, dried fruit or suet nuggets.

Answer:	No, it is not adjustable. I've had pretty good sized woodpeckers land on it and successfully eat, but the squirrels are too heavy and they have given up.

Question:	Replacement wire mesh
Answer:	My suet feeder is less than a year old so I haven't faced this problem yet. In other answers people have indicated that they didn't know of a source for replacement wire mesh. Someone even commented that that was their clue to replace the whole feeder. At these prices that's an expensive proposition! There is coated wire mesh available, but in quantities that are unrealistic for replacement (50 feet of rolled fence). Maybe you could get by with poultry netting (which at least costs less) and replace it more often? Maybe someone from Lowe's, Ace or Home depot has an idea of material and you could cut it to size.

Answer:	I do not know where it is manufactured, but my experience is that it is a great, durable feeder that will not rot, split, or be destroyed by raccoons.

Answer:	Yes - the longer bottom panel allows the Pileated Woodpecker (and for that matter, Flickers & Red-bellied Woodpeckers) to use their tail to support them when on the suet feeder.

Answer:	Yes, the bottom half is a tail prop. The woodpeckers, small and large love it. It was my favorite suet feeder until recently. Starlings and crows started eating the two suet cakes in a day and shooed off the smaller birds. I ended up getting an upside down double suet feeder as the starlings have a very difficult time hanging upside down. The woodpeckers have no problem at all. When the starlings go away I will go back to the suet feeder you are considering.

Question:	What are the dimensions of the cage that the cake fits in? Suet cakes seem to come in different shapes
Answer:	The inside dimensions of the cage are approx. 5" x 5", and about 1 1/2" wide. It fits the smaller suet cake; usually about 11 oz. This cake size is the one most readily available in supermarkets, big box stores, etc. As it gets eaten down to almost nothing, you can put another on top, even if the lid is up a little, the hanging wire is through both sides of the lid, so it stays on. With warmer weather here, bugs are more plentiful, so activity may not be as busy as in cold weather (depending on where you live), but they will come once it's discovered.
Question:	Tail prop" design...is there any actual research suggesting that this is useful or necessary compared to standard suet feeders, or just a gimmick
Answer:	I don't know about design research but the feeder is very stable compared to the usual suet feeders. I have both types and the birds seem to prefer this one. This is a very nice feeder made of recycled materials that really holds up to the weather.
Question:	what is the dimension of an opening in the mesh? (each little hole
Answer:	Each hole is a 1/2" square. Good feeder, not squirrel proof (nothing is)...squirrels will gnaw on the rugged plastic until they can get through the mesh and at the suet. It'll take them 6 months though...
Question:	Love recycled plastic feeders for eco/clean vs cedar but 1) can birds cling to the plastic part? and 2) does the cake stay dry with this roof
Answer:	1) Birds cling to the mesh, like T. Shehan stated. 2) I keep one of those 2-way squirrel baffles above the feeder as a make-shift umbrella. But, between the wind, rain, and snow we get, the cake does get wet. Sometimes part of it is even covered in snow, but it taps off easily. None of that appears to bother the birds, though. They keep pecking away at it. The wetness + suet can make a bit of a mess at the bottom of the cake section, but since it's made of plastic, it's very easy to clean with hot soapy water.

Answer:	It's just like most of these cage-type feeders. One side is hinged and held in place with two metal prongs that snap into the top. You just lift each prong and it pops open. It opens the large side, so you don't have to slide the suet in from the top or end. If you have it mounted low enough, it's easy to refill the suet without removing it from the window.

Answer:	It's designed to stick to glass (it doesn't do that well); so If the squirrels can get to your window, and it is close enough for them to reach it, then yes, they can get to it.

Question:	Anyone had a problem of birds not using this feeder? I wonder if I got some old or spoiled suet from store. No bird using it after a week
Answer:	Some birds just seem to be more skittish about change. When I put my Kettle Moraine feeder up in the exact same spot as a previous cage-type suet feeder, the starlings and catbirds were on it within minutes, but it took several weeks before I saw any woodpeckers on it. Is it in a new location? I have had other feeders that took more than a week to draw any interest when they first went up.
Question:	How long is the hanging cable
Answer:	Not very, but very sturdy...looking at it from my chair, I'd guess less than 12".
Question:	What size is this feeder? I am trying to attract a fair large northern flicker, I would like make sure it's big enough
Answer:	From top to bottom it's about 13 1/2 inches, width is 6 inches and a regular sized suet block has plenty of room inside this product. I've attracted a Red-bellied Woodpecker and a Pileated so it should do for a northern flicker as well.
Question:	By chance, would anyone know if this design deters grackles and/or blackbirds? I have a problem with those bully birds feasting on my suet
Answer:	In our experience, starlings and blackbirds are able to maneuver themselves into position to eat the suet on this feeder, but it isn't easy for them. We have ours on a shepherd's hook, too, so the swinging seems to work against them. In our situation, we can tolerate their occasional presence, but if you have large numbers of them in the area it could be a problem.
Question:	Hey seller, why do you show a natural log and then ship lumber? false advertising
Answer:	I suppose since a 'natural log' is made of wood and lumber is made of wood it doesn't really matter. Any bark that might be on a 'natural log' will soon fall off anyway. Either way it looks more natural than a wire cage. I suspect that the birds don't care one bit. I see the same birds on my wire suet cages as I do on the log feeders - with the exception of the Pileated Woodpeckers. They are too big to land on the cages easily.
