| Answer: | I would say that once the door is shut it is pretty much tightly closed/sealed. A rodent would not be able to get in and I doubt if there is anyway for bugs to get in. Besides, when it is in the sun, it is very hot. That alone would keep things away, you need a mitt on your hand to open the door. |

| Answer: | I am not able to measure it at the moment, so I am glad that someone else could. I often use a standard sized cast iron dutch oven. Also my smaller roasting pan with 4 sweet potatoes fits. Oh and a 10" cast iron skillet fits just fine. |

| Answer: | Bright sunlight is best of course. Scatter clouds type conditions are OK, I monitor the temperature. I want to keep it around 190 degrees (slow cooker conditions) or higher. When the temperature drops below180 degrees or so, I transfer the cooking to my toaster oven. Overcast days (no shadows) will not work, hence the device name "Sun Oven". Actually, I have found the Sun Oven works great during the winter under clear skies and low humidity conditions. I really like using my oven. It cooks better than the conventional oven because you can over cook something by hours and the meat is still moist. |

Well, after receiving lots of buyer feedback we focused on improving the instructions that come with the cooker. You still get the 12" x 17" cooking floor and all the hardware, including the popular "Sunsight". Here at SolCook we go as green as we can, so when you open your cooker you will find NO packing materials, just the cooker and parts. Save the box or recycle. No waste. Construction: The cooker body is made from food grade virgin polypropylene (PP) flute board which is 100% recyclable. PP flute board is the same material that you see used in political lawn signs. Ours is is 4mm thick, rugged and completely waterproof. The cooker arrives in its own box, measuring 18" by 14" by 4”. When assembled, the cooker measures 28" by 28" by 24" The cooker arrives unassembled. The kit includes a parts bag that contains an assortment of 24 nuts, bolts and washers that are used for assembly. The kit includes two reusable cooking bags and a cooking rack. A 14 page instruction and assembly manual is included. Also, there are a few very simple recipes to get you started. Customers report that initial assembly takes about 30 minutes, but subsequent assembly takes about 5 minutes. If you are new to solar cooking you should know that solar cooking is a skill - it takes practice. | Answer: | Hi Bret, The glass bubble is formed by two PYREX brand 4 quart mixing bowls. These are not included. I find mine at WalMart or Target, usually less than 10 bucks each, sometimes much less. Get the Pyrex brand because they have a nice wide rim on the bowl and that helps with stacking. |

| Answer: | Yes and no. I have baked and browned yeast loaf bread. My most recent method uses any loaf pan, but the loaf pan is placed in a black turkey roaster. The black roaster forms an "oven" and the bread bakes normally. Another method is to use a black metal loaf pan. The heavier the better. Preheat the pan, drop in your dough that has risen, cover the loaf pan with an upside down black loaf pan, put all this in the cooking bag and you will get good results. Because you are cooking at a lower temperature, the bottom of the loaf tends to be the last to cook. What I do is, once the top is brown, and the loaf is mostly firm, I flip the loaf for the last 20 minutes of cooking. Solar cooking is a skill and there are many good solar cooking cookbooks available. |

| Answer: | I just got my sport at Quartzsite, AZ 1/27/18 & they had a 16/20 oz tube for water with handle with steam coming out of it that should be out before summer. You just turn it so it is vertical & put the a tube in the tube that had a handle & held 16/20 oz. so you could make coffee, purify water or heat water for freeze dried/dehydrated food or what ever you need hot water for. |

| Answer: | Yes it will definitely work. I live in Ohio and have found that as long as its nice and sunny the outside temperature does not seem to matter very much as the tube is so well insulated. |

How It Works:
This portable solar oven runs on solar energy.

| Question: | The image shows the clear plastic cover zipping on the top half. Is the bottom half sealed to the oven so no air leaks out |
| Answer: | The separating zipper closes one half of the plastic cover, while the other half is stitched into the seam edge. It is certainly not air-tight but it covers the opening completely. You have to unzip some to set/reach pot inside. Get a freestanding oven thermometer to place inside to check on temperature. |

| Answer: | Yes it is a clear plastic that zips to close - but it doesn't fully close like the Sunflair one does. No instructions or cook book. Works but it is not as sturdy as the Sunflair one. |
| Question: | Does this cooks or just heats food |
| Answer: | It depends where you live what temperatures it can reach but it should at the very least reach the same temperature as a slow cooker on low temperature so it can cook food. I have not used mine yet but I did set it up in the backyard with a thermometer inside and it reached about 220F. This actually is the same product as the Sunflair solar oven. They just slapped their logo on it and added some accessories. So you may want to read about the Sunflair. I already had some of the accessories and purchased their racks and was able to put together the same package as they sell using this product for significantly less money. |
