User questions & answers

Question: Will the iGen2200 be adequate to supply power to an ordinary apartment with full-sized refrigerator, computer, lighting, but no AC
Answer: Should be as long as you do not have any high power demand requirements hooked up like blow dryers, heaters, frying pans, microwaves etc. Just stick to the frig, computers, a few lights and you will be fine. There is a power meter onboard so if you get to the power limit you will know and can remove a few items to stay within limits.
Question: If I want to plugin my electronics like my fan and laptop, phones, etc, do I need to buy additional cabling? thanks
Answer: Hi! The great thing about inverter generators is that they are perfect for powering sensitive electronics like your laptop and cellphone so there is no need buy additional cabling for that purpose. There is two standard 120V 20A household outlets and two 5V USB ports. If you wish to connect more items than the number of receptacles allow, then we recommend buying an additional power strip to accommodate for that.
Question: I ordered the igen2200 peak watts and what I received says on the box 2000.... anybody else get that
Answer: peak watts means it can produce that much for a short period but will run long term at 2000. it's like overrevving a car engine. you would not run it at 6000 rpm for very long if you want it to last.

User questions & answers

Question: How long can i keep the generator running continuously? (westinghouse wgen
Answer: The generator will run for about 3.6 hours at full 1600 watt load, the 12V output max output is 100 watts. Probably over 24 hours. I don't think the load on the 12V plug would not make much difference from just letting it idle with not load. 100watts is about 1/8HP and it has a 2HP engine.
Question: Why oh why can't this be shipped to alaska? we're the ones that need generators
Answer: I personally would use Shell Rotella. I burned up a couple of Built-rite 4 stroke weed eater motors on Mobil 1 within a year. I am now on year 5 on the 3rd one I bought with Rotellla oil. Run it in my 4 stroke motorized bicycle too. Still runs like new with 15,000 miles on it. I think some those synthetics have high heat problems when these air cooled motors are shrouded. Rotella had better specs, that's why I switched.
Question: Is the 50 amp 120/240V 14–50r transfer switch capable or can you only use the 30r? It says 50 amp transfer switch ready on the brochure
Answer: I have the 1700/2000 watt Wen 56203i inverter generator and it runs my 5000 Btu window AC at my cabin just fine MOST of the time. The AC pulls 500-600 watts when running, but startup is quite a bit higher. When I'm running your standard Walmart box fan, 32inch LCD TV, a laptop charger and a few led lights at the same time, I've had the generator overload a few times when the AC has cycled off and then starts back up. That tells me that I'm right at it's surge capacity with the other devices running. In 200+ generator hours of running the AC last summer and early fall, this happened 4-5 times. It just required shutting off the ac and fan, and pushing the reset on the gen, then turning them on one at a time. It seems like most of these comments are based on: A) starting watts from a generator sizing worksheet (where the answer is "no"), or B) from a calculation using only "running watts" and ignoring startup, where the answer is "yes". I'd lean towards an answer from someone who's tried it with the setup you want. As I mentioned, my 1700 running/2000surge inverter works for my 5000btu fine MOST of the time. It's a new AC and moderately efficient, but imagine older ACs will have a higher starting watts, and would kick off mine more frequently if it could start the AC at all.
Question: Prende aires acondicionados? Veo que es de pocos amperios
Answer: This thing is far too loud for any campground. I also have a Honda 2000. If they are running side-by-side, the only thing you can here running is the Wen, you can't even tell the Honda is running at all. If you want to camp at a CG that says, "No generators", you may find yourself kicked out if you run ANY generator.

Question: Anyone know which magnetic dipstick can be used for this generator? (please if you have a link to it, it would be helpful
Answer: Yes hence the trickle effect!
Question: This run with “gasoline”? In the top says Gas but in the description says gasoline
Answer: Yes, each set of leads are turned on separately. I recently just used it to charge my Polaris Ranger with one set and my Kawasaki Mule with the other. Only bad thing is that it does not come with clamps, it is just eye terminals, luckily I had some old battery clamps lying around the shop to use. I think it works well, done charged up everything up I own.

Question: Has anyone gotten a good propane consumption rate yet? The description seems too good to be true....20 hours on a bbq tank
Answer: hello I have a 3500 w strictly propane and used it during Sandy I poweredy whole house by rigging the board .I actually powered the boiler circulating pump for heat 2 refriges and a freezer besides some lights.I had to juggle appliances once in awile but it ran great .I went through a 100 # propane cylinder it took 2/ 12 hour days and one 8hr day running all those appliances. No prob.We actually ran tje washer once during that week cause some people stayed with us
Question: What are the physical dimensions of this generator. Description says 28x30x40, thats huge. Is that right? Is that length width and height? 40" tall
Answer: I just went out and measured mine: 26" tall x 30" wide x 22" deep. I suspect the dimensions given are the packaged dimensions.
Question: Is the propane hose included
Answer: I just got mine and the hose I got is five feet long.
Question: What can i do to stop my propane tank from freezing in at night in the florida summer? this is connected to this generator. help
Answer: Having used quite a few propane heaters, generators, and torches(large ones) I can safely say the best way to stop the frost is to reduce the pressure on the tank. The easiest, simplest safest way to do that is to get a higher volume tank. If a 20lb tank is frosting badly you are drawing it to quickly, try a 40lb or better even a 100lb tank. Your frosting problem will go away.

User questions & answers

Question: Does Pulsar offer a running cover for this 12000 watt model? If not does anyone have experience in one that they have purchased they could recommend
Answer: After reviewing I believe the IGAN cover should fit. Also a folding round plastic table works.
Question: Puede realidar conexion directobtqblero a la casa
Answer: Sí, es posible. Pero, además, necesitará un interruptor de transferencia automática y otros equipos no incluidos. Y es probable que necesite la ayuda de un electricista que entienda el código de seguridad local.
Question: What about powering computer equipment such as servers, network equipment, camera systems, etc..etc
Answer: That sounds expensive and possibly delicate. Please consider using a robust inline power conditioner or UPS system. The generator makes plenty of power, your concern should be the integrity of the waveform. Server equipment is probably looking for a very clean sine wave. Tom
Question: Cuantos decibeles
Answer: Around 76. Tom

User questions & answers

Question: If ran through either a 120v plug or a 30 amp adapter plug to 1 outlet in the house, is there a limit on how much you can power from one outlet
Answer: You might be able to. There is no reason to, when you parallel 2 generators you can only get double the smallest generators output so you would only get 4000,the same as just the bigger generator.
Question: How much oil shoud I put in it. I received the unit but no documentations on the first time oil fill up. Thanks to any and everyone
Answer: I purchased a 'Work Zone' Brand generator. It is sold exclusively (I believe) at Aldi's. It appears identical in just about every way possible to the Pulsar. I bought a magnetic dipstick for mine right here on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W9HKRV1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Worth it in my opinion!!!
Question: What is the decibel level of this generator? I can't find it listed. Thanks
Answer: It's gasoline. 1203 no-lead. Common vernacular in the US is 'gas'. While not technically accurate, it is well-understood.
Question: Is this big enough to power a small house in an outage of several days to a week (I know nothing about electricity and generators). Thanks
Answer: I was very impressed with this unit. Checking the engine carefully you will find many QA chalk marks on critical assemblies, just like Honda. Most off brands do not have good quality control.

User questions & answers

Question: Hello, this model has electric starter
Answer: definately restricted by the particular wiring in your home to that outlet 15 or 20 amp MAX. Unless your an electircian and know what, when , how, and why, you should not even be thinking about doing this ,and if your were, you would already know what your limits are and if you can do it. SO NO, dont do it!!!
Question: Who is the engine manufactuer on this Ford generator? Is it a chinese made generator
Answer: 20oz. This is in the supplied manual. Recommended oil is 10W30 for most climates.
Question: is this an inverter generator or conventional generator
Answer: 69-decibels. generatorfactoryoutlet-dot-com. About like your typical lawn mower. When you have no commercial electricity, it will be the sweetest sound ever.
Question: Does the ford generator model fg6250 have a battery
Answer: It cannot run your entire house. We typically run a full-size freezer, refrigerator, several lights, and our internet router. I have run this generator for up to 48 hours, but most of our outages are in the 8-12 hour duration. I run this unit 2-3 times per year. I run drop cords from the unit to my critical stuff. It starts easily, and runs 8+ hours on a tank of gas under our load. When the power goes out, it takes me about 10 minutes to roll it out, start it, and get everything plugged in. It has never let me down, would definitely purchase again.

User questions & answers

Question: Why does amazon call this sc2000iv isn't this sc2000i
Answer: While I cannot answer your question empirically, I have an idea based on my evaluation of the SUA2000i v the SUA2000iV. When I compare the owner's manual for the 'iV,' it does not include the same accessories as the 'i;' no battery charging or parallel cables. I did not receive cables although these reviews infer that I should have. I looked on their website and the 'i' includes cables (per their literature and diagrams) while the iV does not include them and that is reinforced by the list of included items. All of this is a guess, but I have been looking into this same question to determine why I did not get cables.. :) Good ,luck with the full answer!
Question: Is it big enough to start/run a 1/2 hp sump pump. the specs say that it's amperage is 6.9a
Answer: It should be depending on the start-up draw of the motor. It takes a lot more energy to start than to run.
Question: How much gas does tank hold
Answer: 7-gallon, large heavy-duty all steel construction fuel tank provides up to nine hours of run time at 50% load
Question: Can this run a 3 ton AC unit? And does it accommodate a 50 amp plug
Answer: yes I do it... my fridge a/c lights well pump hot water heater tv internet mico wave range washer dryer you just have to keep the load around 9k give or take example... washing clothes, shut off range breaker ,shut off fridge it stays cold 4 or so hrs , shut off hot water heater it stays hot for hrs... our 40 gallon tank gives at least 3 hot showers, get the Idea?great cheap gen!! fires right up

User questions & answers

Question: I have a 27 ft jayco will it run my a/c unit plus couple lights and tv/ dvd player
Answer: do not know what Jayco is, assume its a boat. my 6500 will run my whole house except my 220volt stove and my 2 central air 220 volts. That includes 2 refrigerators , wine cooler, all lights, tv, dvd, and a 110volt window a/c.
Question: Can this generator be used in the UK
Answer: I dont think so different wattage appliances
Question: Does this generator come with the propane regulator and if so how long is the hose
Answer: Yes and 3ft I believe
Question: Will it power a 220 volt well pump
Answer: This generator has a NEMA 14-50 socket, that socket can connect about 50 amps at 240V. This generator can supply 9000W continuous, this means you can continuously draw 37.5A (pushing it hard). Most deep-well submersible pumps are less than 3HP (typically 1HP). A Horsepower(HP) is 745.7 watts (about 3.25 amps at 240V). Watts and horsepower are different units for the same thing, power (Just like liters and gallons are different units for volume). You'd think, that you can power a 12HP motor with this generator because it can supply 9000 watts, this is wrong because motors need a large surge current to get them started. This is called the startup current. A 1 or 1.5HP well pump uses a 25 or 30A breaker in your panel because the startup current is much higher than the running current (they can have a 20 to 40 amp surge), which is why you want a larger generator for your well pump. After the startup current, your pump will draw about what its horsepower rating is (about 750W for 1HP). This generator should work with any well with up to a 3HP pump. It might work with a 5HP pump, but not reliably because you're pushing your luck since these call for a 70A breaker and the surge could be twice what the generator is capable of supplying.

User questions & answers

Question: I want to send this to Haiti is it possible
Answer: Its shipped with out fuel international shipping should be ok!
Question: can it run skill saw or drill one at a time
Answer: yes
Question: do you use just gas are gas-oil mix
Answer: All two cycle engines require mixed fuel. There is no oil in a two cycle engine, it gets its lubrication from the fuel and oil mixture. Being as there is no oil it also gets interior protection from rust by the oil in the fuel mix. The mix ratio is important but not so much as you might think. Minimum 2-cycle engine mix ratios are usually in the 50:1 area. You could go as high as 30:1 if you like. Adding more oil causes a little bit of spark plug fouling that you can clean off by removing the plug and giving it a few passes on the business end with a wire brush. Too much oil is generally better than not enough. Insufficient oil in the mix will cause piston ring wear and early engine failure due to the piston scoring and seizing. At that point the engine has to be rebuilt so you really want to avoid that. There will be instructions regarding the manufacturers recommended fuel/oil mix ratio either on the machine itself or in the manual. Follow the manufacturers advice. USE ONLY OIL DESIGNED TO BE MIXED WITH FUEL, DO NOT USE REGULAR MOTOR OIL. There is a difference in the two kinds of oil. Somewhere on the container of oil you buy you should see the letters "TCW" displayed prominently. There are both standard organic and synthetic oils available. The difference in them is the organics tend to leave a better protective film on the interior engine surfaces, the synthetic oils tend to do a marginally better job of lubrication when the motor is running. It's a trade-off either way. I have two tanks on my boat for my outboard and I put organic regular oil (which btw is cheaper) in one and synthetic in the other. That way I get the best of both. Don't let anyone tell you that once you start using a synthetic you cannot go back to standard oil grades, that's hogwash mythology. No engine manufacturer will validate that silliness so don't worry about it. Any oil is better than no oil, so make sure you HAVE oil and you know what the mixture should be.Don't worry about premium fuel, that tiny little piston and its spark plug are never going to realize a bit of difference in a few octane points. DO treat your fuel with a preservative like "Sta-Bil" EVERY TIME YOU GET FRESH FUEL. Doing this will do much, much more towards keeping your engine running happy and trouble free than putting high octane fuel in it. Avoid ethanol if you can, but usually you can't. Putting a fuel stabilizer in the gas can before you fill it with gasoline will largely if not completely offset the problems caused by ethanol gasoline. A good stabilizer like Sta-bil (I use the marine version religiously) will clean the carburetor, prevent waxing and varnish in the fuel line, prevent phase II fuel separation and breakdown and generally keep you happy with your little engine. The best practice with these engines is to turn off the fuel valve and let the carburetor run dry when you have finished using them. It's easier and faster by only a few seconds to just hit the "off" switch, whatever that might be. It's a better idea to use the fuel shutoff valve (almost all these things come with a little petcock at the bottom of the tank to shut down the fuel flow) to starve the engine of fuel to shut it down. Doing this prevents fuel from sitting in the carburetor and turning to sludge, varnishing up and plugging carb parts and needle valves, etc. When you want to start it again open the fuel valve, activate the choke mechanism and pull the starter rope. If it starts shut the choke off right away. If it fires, shut the choke off and pull the starter rope again, it should start on that pull. If it NEVER fires there's something else wrong than fuel feed.
Question: how much does it weigh
Answer: I'm not sure of the weight. Empty it doesn't weigh much but add gas and it does increase the weight.you didn't ask this question, but I will include it anyway, it is noisy.

User questions & answers

Question: Can it be connected to the home circuit breaker box of 200 Amp. If so how and what to buy
Answer: No
Question: What is the difference between the sua2000i and sc2000i
Answer: It is made by RATO in China. It is a Honda GX390(389cc, 11.7hp) clone, but the clone is actually has 420cc, 13+hp. The alternator is also sourced by RATO. Go to Harbor Freight and look at the 6500/5500. Look at the louvers on the generator an pattern. They are exactly the same. It is a RATO unit. RATO is the GM of generators. Many brands no longer put their own together anymore including such names as Generac. While most parts interchange between the Honda and the RATO, the RATO is not Honda quality and always some years behind in technology. The RATO has had issues throwing rods in the past, which explodes the engine to pieces making it irreparable, however, that doesn't happen often. It is not unusual for the RATOs to get 1200 to 2200 hours before any major issues. This machine costs considerably more than the $490 HF equivalent, but the Ford comes with a nicer frame, some nice looking fairings, a nice looking wheel kit, and an hour meter. The control panel is on the front instead of side, and it is guarded by the frame from damage. It's a lot like buying a car from GM. You could buy a Chevrolet (HF), a Pontiac, or a Buick, and there are reasons for doing so. But the powertrain and basic chassis and structure, are all the same. So basically, you bought the Pontiac. The Buick is more like the Generac's with the fancier blower cover, generator fairing, volt/cycles/Hour meter, and graphs the power levels on a little screen. Some manufactures say they make their own engines when in fact they source them. Honda sourced parts from a company that RATO now owns, just as the GM lines were independent automakers at one time. The beauty of Honda clones is because of their volume, they are easy to find parts for at a reasonable price. They even have Kart racing classes built around these engines and high performance parts. They are the small block Chevy of small engines. You can buy new carburetors for less than $40. You can buy Tri-Fuel kits for them for less than $50.00, that is perfectly designed for the engine, looks and fits and looks the same as the mono-fuel carb, and it will work better than the $180 cobble-job kit you would otherwise have to buy. So it's a nice generator you have. I wouldn't call it Cadillac Northstar/Honda sophistication and quality, but I wouldn't call it junk. I like mine better than the Briggs & Stratton I had previously. These handle the load much better and are massively quieter. These are within 3db of the Honda. Generator re-branders wouldn't attach their business name to junk or they would lose their business, although the warranty people seem to be doing a pretty good job of poisoning the well it sounds like.
Question: who manufactured the engine
Answer: this is not a inverter generator but it does have a automatic voltage regulator AVR which controls the sine wave so it won't damage fine electronics. I own a smaller ford and use it for my Ice Castle Fish House and love it. no problems with the smart T.V. or fish camera.
Question: Is this made on China
Answer: I have a smaller model than the fg6250 and it does not have an electric start thus, no battery. I looked at the information on the fg6250 and it does not list electric start; therefore, I guess there is no battery.
