Answer:	This model does not have a motion detector. I had to purchase a motion detecting accessory that connects to the light

Answer:	Funny you should ask - I just put a dimmer on them, and it does not handle dimming well at all. It flickers a LOT when dimmed.

Answer:	The led modules are not replaceable. They are permanently attached.
Question:	What type of PVC is used
Answer:	There is a drop down menu and 3 choices of watts. Those are the Equivalent watts of light output. For example: 200-watt equivalent LED light bulb only uses 25 watts. So it uses 25 watts of electricity, but you're getting the same amount of light as an old school incandescent 200watt bulb. The 8 from 830, is the CRI. 8 usually means 85/100 which is good. The 30 part of 830 is the Kelvin color 3000k. Normal incandescent bulbs are 2700k (soft white). 3000 is slightly whiter. Sometimes named bright white. But as comparison 5000k is daylight (blueish) Hope that helped =)

My kitchen sink faucet is one that is higher, so I can get the globe under. I then carry it to the plant and turn it over into the hole in the soil of the plant and leave it. Answer:	It depends on how much water you have filled into the globes. We have done experiment that half full water could keep watering for about 7-10 days. Apart from the water amount, the watering speed is also decided by the absorbility of soil.results may vary due to different conditions, soil or plant types. It is hard to give you a standard answer. Answer:	The kit includes sponges and the baskets but you will need to sprout your own seeds or get starters.

Planting Process

• Step 1

1: Soak merchandise ready for planting presented in a bowl for 2-3 hours (tap water)

2: Place soaked merchandise in pits of presented sponge (1-2 per hole)

• Step 2

1: After merchandise are placed in pits, it is also necessary to cover them with a layer of gauze and put them in a cool place, waiting for germination, which usually takes 3-5 days.

• Step 3

Answer:	It is not very large. I set mine on top of a planting table. Approximately 27" x 38" x 15" tall. I am not using the sponges to hold plants. I bought 1" rock wool cubes and I germinate the seeds within the cubes in a domed plastic mini greenhouse. Once roots show there way out of the cubes, I plant them in the vivosun. I hope this helps!

Answer:	Very little. It depends on what you are growing and the temperature. But for most crops, especially lettuce, I would count on a pint or so a day. The water is always recirculated. That is the beauty of a hydroponics system. It typically uses about 5% of the water required for conventional agriculture.

Question:	Does it come assembled

Question:	Anyone using this indoors to grow lettuce? What type of light do you use and does it reach all levels and plants
Answer:	It's a hard pvc pipe. I went to Lowe's to get a few adapters. You can't find any because it's some Chinese size, not standard. Also, the pump that comes with it is literally the size of an egg. Once the roots grow, the pump would not be strong enoughbto move water. Luckily I had ordered a few larger pumps. I use a 8w 800L/h 210gph with an adjustable flow. This unit will work unglued but you have to be careful in moving it around or it will leak. It's better to glue some of the ends so that you can clean it when you are done growing. I use this setup for growing bok choy, spinach and other greens. Put plants in every other hole because the roots get too big and it will back up and leak. For me, it just ok. I didn't have time to build my own.
Question:	Can you reuse the sponges
Answer:	No, you will need a growing media like 1/2" rockwool or you could plant bare root with clay pebbles. It does come with sponges but they don't really work well. The pump is the size of an egg and it's not effective to move water once the plants grow large roots. I use a submersible 8w 800L/H 210 gph with adjustable water flow about 2 foot high and as plants get bigger, I remove ones from every other hole so the system will not back up from large roots in the pipes. You also need a good light source I use 5000 lumen, hooded shop lights and they work really good. So far, I have only grown bok choy, tatsoi, spinach and other greens during the winter.

How to Hydroponic

1. The seeds are poured 10% more than the holes into the container and soaked for one hour. Then wrap the seeds in a wet towel and put it in the dark and ventilated place, and moisturize them in the morning and evening.
2. After the seeds germinate, put the buds into the sponge(note: ONE bud in ONE sponge). Place the sponge in the nursery tray (Put 2mm height of water inside) and get the sun.
3. When the buds grow leaves, pour fertilizer into the nursery tray. The sponge needs to be kept moist.
4. When the seedlings have three or four leaves, and the root penetrates the bottom of the sponge. Put the sponge into the net cup, pay attention to the roots to pass through the net cup.
5. Place hydroponics equipment under the sunny and ventilation place. Put the fertilizer in the bucket and put it under the water outlet. Immerse the pump in the nutrient solution and plug it in.
6. Check the remaining amount of fertilizer every 2-3 days. If the pump is not completely bubbled by the fertilizer, add fertilizer.
7. After the vegetables are ripe, you can take them off!

Tips before Planting

Question:	what is the length of each pipe? and what is the distance between layers
Answer:	I am no problems with the pump. The flow, and water levels, are perfect. Maybe you should RMA your pump.
Question:	I understand that the grow tubes have a diameter of 4.3 in. What is the length of the grow tube and the diameter of the smaller tubing
Answer:	Nope. Not enough space for tomato roots to grow
Question:	How much space is between each hole
Answer:	Yes. But I added an air pump
Question:	Could this be built as two single layer units
Answer:	A single unit of this system will not have sufficient throughput of nutrient solution to replace even a small flood fill/drain setup. If your existing system has a 'well' that will keep the pump for this system underwater, it would probably work as an adjunct to your aquaculture system.

Cultivate Steps:
