We recommend purchasing an LED grow light if you plan to grow your herbs through the winter and if you live in a location that gets limited sunshine during this part of the year. There are many options for LED grow lights on Amazon. Be sure that your grow light has the following features if you do decide to get one: 1) Full spectrum light, 2) Adjustable height so you can raise the lights as your plants grow. Additionally, as mentioned in the instructional pamphlet that is included in our kits, be sure that you keep your lights on for 12-16hrs per day (the rule of thumb is that you double natural light sunshine time when using grow lights, so because your plants require at least 6-8hrs of sunshine, you would provide them with at least 12-16hrs of grow light time). We recommend using a timer so your lights come on in the early morning and turn off on their own in the evening so the plants get evening rest during the night. I hope that helps, Alix! Note that after your herbs have grown out of the included seed starting pots (to between 3-5" in height), you'll want to transplant them to a larger pot so their root systems can fully develop, otherwise their growth will be limited and they will eventually die off. Answer:	I hate to break it to everyone, but not a single person who buys this will ever have an actual bonsai. Bonsai are not grown from seed. The trunk-like appearance that bonsai have will simply never come about in a small pot. Bonsai are made by harvesting an outdoor specimen and chopping it all the way down so that a small amount of "trunk" is left. The leftover trunk then grows out new stems and leaves which eventually become branches, and that is how you get the trunk-like appearance of an older tree. Read some info on Google and you'll understand.

Question:	Should one water the plants after sowing the seeds? I’ve hydrated the soil, and sowed them, but I’m not sure if/how much water to give them now
Answer:	If you started with hydrated soil, I would wait a bit to water. Too much moisture at the start will make the seeds mold. That being said, don't let things dry out either! Damp, not drowning, not dry.
Question:	Pre-sowing, it says to soak in hot water for 24 hours, you don’t have to keep it hot the entire 24 correct
Answer:	First, I was not all that attentive to growing my seeds into herbs, so I'm not someone to take advice from. I had my own troubles getting the project going and I only tried because we were all on Covid lockdown. My instructions called for what sounded like 10 discs and I only got 5, so from the get-go it was all weird. The instant you add water, the discs "unpack" into potting soil anyway and you have to guess how much to cover over the seeds. Then, I couldn't keep track of which of the herbs was to get which amount of daily watering..... and they all took forever to germinate in the end. For me, rather than try to succeed at a hobby that reaps little value, in order to have fresh home-grown herbs and unless you really want to put in the time and effort, I recommend starting with seedlings already germinated. That said, the idea of the instruction you're asking about is ridiculous--who is going to keep the water "hot" for 24 hours, and what does that even mean? (what temp range?) My "final answer" to your question would be, start with "hot" (tap hot) and wait out your prescribed 24 hours soaking time and forget about trying to keep it "hot." Good luck!

Answer:	I couldn’t find any anywhere. I ended up buying the same type of grow sponge used in aero garden and trimming the bottom to the height of the basket. They don’t fill the basket width. I was however able to start seed.
