2 Equipment

Except for the most basic systems, hydroponics usually includes a pump to recirculate the mixture of water and fertilizer. The recirculating water is important because it is through movement, and in some cases an airstone with tubing, that oxygen from the ambient air is supplied to the liquid and then to the plants. These pumps, along with the tubing and joining connectors, are the heart of the system and probably the most important equipment you will buy.

3 Hydroponic Growing Systems

DIY Hydroponic systems are a great way to create a custom garden catered to your location, crop, and desired aesthetics. Many beginning hydroponic growers decide to build their own systems because of the cost of retail systems, but from personal experience, I have found building DIY systems may not always be the cheapest option, especially if there are mistakes in the system design. I love creating original systems built for specific locations, but creating original systems can often involve a lot of expensive mistakes. I've purchased items that don't fit, or wouldn't hold after I glued them into place, or broke, or didn't provide enough light, or didn't provide enough drainage . . .

4 Starting Seeds And Cuttings

Growing a healthy, robust seedling or root cutting is often one of the biggest challenges for new hydroponic gardeners. The ideal conditions for germination or root establishment are dependent on crop selection. Refer to the crop selection charts in the appendix to find recommended germination temperatures for various crops.

5 Plant Nutrition

Plants cannot tell the difference between natural and synthetic fertilizers. Plants have specialized pathways that only allow them to uptake a very short list of ions and simple molecules. In traditional soil-based gardening, these ions and molecules are often derived from manure or decaying plant matter broken down by a series of biological processes.

6 System Maintenance

At some point, even the most basic hydroponic gardens will require some upkeep. Hydroponic system maintenance includes everything from monitoring and adjusting nutrient concentrations to regularly flushing the system, and even the occasional scrubbing of pots and reservoirs.

7 Common Problems And Troubleshooting

Now that you have learned to be a system builder, an indoor gardener, and a maintenance worker, it is time to learn to be a doctor. Here is a brief primer on how to diagnose and troubleshoot your hydroponic growing system.

Growing System: Bottle Hydroponics

A quick google search of “bottle hydroponics” will reveal the many ways to use bottles in hydroponics. Unfortunately, most of these are either complicated, ugly, or both. These simple hydroponic bottles are easy to build, low cost, low maintenance, require no electricity, and look great.

Kratky Method and Aeration

The Kratky method is the easiest hydroponic growing technique. No pumps, no complex irrigation systems . . . just plants sitting in water. Question:	Should I get a higher wattage for peppers and tomatoes
Answer:	【The difference the Bee-01 and the Bee-05 】Bee-05 is an upgrade of Bee-01, with better quality. Question:	Do these daisy chain together
Answer:	I can plug my 600W LED from another manufacturer into this light? That would save me space on my power strip, if I could plug my other light (mars hydro TS600) into this light it would be handy
Question:	Is it water proof
Answer:	Mine did the same thing. I took all the screws out, took the light apart and there was a plug that was not all the way plugged in. I plugged it in, put the light back together and it has worked fine ever since.
Question:	Is each panel 45w, or are they about 22w, for a total of 45w
Answer:	It means the power draw is 105W, but it can be used to replace a 1000W HPS.

Question:	What type of power supply do lights need
Answer:	The system uses standard 110/120 voltage. Plug into an outlet and you are all set. This is a great package.
Question:	How many full sized plants can it hold
Answer:	Well I am going to start with 3 but it can hold 4. But if you want a bigger yield You need more space and light. Again 3 would be ideal.
Question:	Can you run 2 of these lights in the same tent without burning up the plants
Answer:	I have two 1000W LED lights in my 6x6 tent and my plants seem just fine to me! Keep in mind that, based on my own experience, the light they include is actually 200W....
Question:	Does this need to be vented outside
Answer:	No. I went it right out of the tent and the filter works good. Nothing will eliminate 100%, but this has worked well.

Question:	Can I grow tomatoes over the winter in this tent
Answer:	That's what I'm doing with mine, plus a few other vegetables.
Question:	Is it actually lightproof if used properly or filled with pinholes
Answer:	(new) mine had maybe a pinhole or two but otherwise was near flawless, a great tent really. And after 3 years and moving it 3 times and growing in it for half the time and my wife using it for her tanning bed room the rest of the time.its now got a few more pinholes from wear, but still a great tent that I'm currently still using.
Question:	will a 4 inch ventilation kit work for this
Answer:	(for the 10x10) no not if you have the tent even partially filled, you would want an 8" can and fan to move more air. 4,000w of HİD lighting creates alot of heat even when running sealed cooled hoods. LEDs you (may) be able to get away with a 6", but in an area with that much SQ footage you really need as much fresh air as possible, go with the 8" and you'll be glad you did.
Question:	how many bars across the top
Answer:	Eight, and they are all half the width of the tent do you can maneuver and position them independently on the main dupport bar that runs the length of the tent
