Answer:	I wanted to know how to be sure that I was getting the "new" version of the BT-C2000. This is where it gets confusing. The firmware and manufactured units were all version 2.0 until sometime this spring (I think), when the firmware was upgraded to version 2.1, AND the manufacturing process changed ever so slightly so that some of the more expensive size AA batteries were difficult to place in and extract from the charger. Some people reported that a fix was to take the C or D adapter pin and press down on the negative terminals which were a tight fit in order to make "more room" for the batteries. At first there was a question about possible damage to the innards of the chargers, but one of the vendors, DL Portable Power, addressed this in an answered question for either this unit, or the 12-volt only unit (which has about three times as many questions as this battery charger) and said there would be no damage from pressing down slightly on the negative terminals in the charger. Looking at different descriptions from different vendors, I asked a question a couple of days ago about making sure I got the new unit. Elsewhere in the questions you can see the reply from DL Portable Power, but I paste it here for your convenience: "Full details: Amazon has taken control of this listing. Question:	What is the best battery for this charger? I need about 6 or 8 AA's and 4 AAA's? Thanks
Answer:	This depends on your application. If you are cycling batteries (charge and discharge) daily or even every few days a high capacity type would be best as it gives you a bit more power between charges. If you aren't using the batteries as frequently or you can handle the lower capacity, low self discharge cells such as Panasonic Eneloop (there are other brands, I prefer Eneloop) are very good as they can hold a usable charge for 10 years (and the lost charge can be regained by recharging). If you need low self discharge AND high capacity the Eneloop pro will work, but they don't hold their charge as long, nor do they have as long of a cycle life which is the number of times the cell can be charged and discharged. (500 times for Eneloop Pro, 2100 times for Eneloop). FYI: I don't work for Panasonic, I am just a fan of their product, I currently have at least 19 cells installed in place of Alkaline cells in various applications for AA size alone, 3 installed in AAA size. I also have 11 AA and 5 AAA on standby (charged ready to go which is the point of Eneloop), and a full 8 pack still unopened.

Question:	Would you recommend this charger over the La Crosse and if so, why? Thanks
Answer:	Full disclosure: I sell La Crosse products as well. The La Crosse BC-700 has been sold in it's present form for well over a decade. The La Crosse BC-1000 has come from other chargers but is the same basic charger with higher current capability and packaged with accessories. They have been tested in the market place and have good customer acceptance. They do have some issues however. Both can miss full charge condition with some cells and continue to overcharge. This is in my opinion due to the lack of resolution in the -dV detection circuits, most probably related to ADC resolution. The BC-1000 can overheat when charging 4 cells at maximum current of 1000 mA each. Those are the two biggest issues that I see with those chargers. From testing I tell tell you that the C2000 charger never misses -dV full charge detection. Now having said that I am sure someone somewhere will be able to find a cell to charge that will cause it to miss full charge detect but I have never seen it in all of the testing done. This charger does not have any heat issues charging 4 cells at maximum current 1000 mA. It does not even come close to thermal limits in that situation. Couple that with an easy to use interface, large back lighted display, and extra capabilities to do C & D cells as well. My choice is the OPUS C2000 between those chargers. Answer:	I found a trick online that RESTORED ALL MY BATTERIES. It looks like magic but it worked for me on 8 batteries. You can google it and find the videos. Basically: find two short wires. Connect a bad battery with a good battery for 3-4 seconds (male to male, female to female). This will resurrect the bad battery but drain the good one. Now charge them both. Again, this trick salvaged 8 batteries I already put for recycling.

Answer:	I have had this charger for a couple of years now and have never put a battery in it that it didn't recognize. My guess is that your D battery is broken inside and doesn't make a complete circuit. This is a very good charger and keeps my 12 (AA), 12 (AAA), 8 (C), and 4 (D) batteries fully charged. Rechargeable batteries are a little expensive, but this charger saves a lot of money in the long run. I live full time in an RV and can't run to the store for batteries all the time from the middle of the Arizona Desert. Rechargeable batteries don't last forever.

Answer:	I have owned this. The universal charger WILL charge batteries individually. There are 4 charging 'points' and you can choose to put one small battery (AA or AAA) in one point. Of course, you can also put two small batteries in each point to get the full 8-at-a-time figure. This also only applies to the small batteries. Cs and Ds are charged individually in each point, so their max is only 4 at a time total.

The user manual clearly indicates that 240V 50Hz power is OK. The only problem you will have is the plug. The two-prong plug is designed for U.S. outlets. Of course, any plug adapter will solve that problem.Basically, the answer is yes.
