Answer:	Hi, Brad. We recommend using a deep-cycle marine battery because they are designed to be drained and recharged a large number of times. The size of your energizer and the weed load on your fence will determine how long your battery lasts. Yes, this energizer is great for farm animals.

Answer:	That is what I am doing, although there is also a charge controller between the fence charger and the battery. Am using a 10 watt panel. Suggest you consider a charge contoller to protect the battery from excessive discharge.

Answer:	For small ducks: 147-149 F – 2,5-3min For big ducks: 153-158 F – 2,5-3min For geese: 151 F – 3.5 min Feather retention force depends on poultry’s age, feed, climate and other factors. Therefore, every time before massive slaughter, scalding temperature and duration should be chosen on a case-by-case basis. Scalding container should be big enough to keep the water temperature on the same level after you put a bird inside of it (at least 30l to scald one chicken). Stir the birds in the water for uniform scalding from all sides. If while plucking not all the feather removes, it is necessary to rise the temperature or increase the duration of scalding. If the skin damaged, it is necessary to decrease the temperature or reduce the time of scalding.
Question:	Does this product contain natural latex rubber
Answer:	The 21 fingers plucker is longer so if you are looking for a plucking machine to defeather big duck, goose or turkey – this one fits you more.

Answer:	Hello - the plucker attaches to a corded or cordless power drill, just like a bit or any other drill attachment. Then, while running the drill (medium speed works best) allow the spinning rubber fingers to make contact with the feathers. It quickly and easily removes the feathers without tearing the skin

Answer:	The product description calls the business parts of the plucker "rubber fingers" and from its appearance I would guess that they are made out of natural rubber, in other words latex. As an additional comment, I have found that this plucker doesn't save any time if you scald the bird properly and pluck by hand. It does create a fairly impressive scene that looks like a chicken bomb exploded, so your choice.

Answer:	I actually bought it to process some Thanksgiving turkeys. The cone is too small, the knife is good, it will pluck turkey feathers. You will have to pull the tail feathers and the primary wing feathers by hand (it won't do those). I dipped the birds, pulled the tail feathers, pull the primary wing feathers; then hung the bird upside down and used the plucker to do the rest. WARNING: There is a learning curve to use it, it took me about 6+ chickens and turkeys to get used to how to hold it, how close or far away it should be, and with turkeys, ensuring long wet turkey feathers don't wrap around it, etc.
