Answer:	No, it does not handle any other size crayon and it does not do very well with any other brand! Works fairly well with standard Crayola brand/size crayons.

Answer:	No, it only works with the small crayons. Standard size crayons. I use crayola, they fit perfectly; and with the sharpener they last forever.

Answer:	I don't peel the paper and my sharpener works fine. You do need to hold the crayon tightly, maybe with two hands.

Answer:	It works on any brand of standard sized crayons. However, Crayola crayons tend to be less waxy and less crumbly than off brands. Lower quality crayons may not sharpen as well.It can jamb up easily. I find that not forcing the crayon into the sharpener helps. Also making sure that the bin that catches the shavings isn't too full. I run a daycare and sharpen hundreds of crayons at a time. There is a certain finesse to getting the crayons to sharpen without breaking off in the sharpener.

Answer:	Not all of them - higher quality colored pencils are OK, but the knock-off brands gets chewed up guickly. It has more to do with the quality of the wood in the pencils than the sharpener.

Answer:	No. The hole sizes are fine, but the helical blades are too deep inside the machine. You can't sharpen anything shorter than about 2.5 inches in this unit. Sharpening golf pencils for church is the reason we bought this unit, so we're returning it (sadly, because it's otherwise a brilliant machine).

Answer:	I had the same problem with a different model of the X-ACTO electric pencil sharpener. I used the method in the video, except that I used a rubber washer. It now works. I recommend buying this pencil sharpener if you enjoy fixing things.

Answer:	The X-Acto Electric Pencil Sharpener does not sharpen certain pencils evenly. Usually, I found the standard #2 pencil sharpens best. Other pencils of lesser diameter sometimes do not sharpen enough to be usable.

Answer:	The pilot v pen appears to be exactly the same as the varsity pen. The v pen appears to be marketed in Japan, whereas the varsity is marketed in USA. The v pen is available in a fine nib or medium nib, whereas the varsity pen seems to be available only in medium. The varsity pen comes in colors, whereas I've never seen the v pen in colors. So to answer your question, if you pop off the business end of the pen and use an eyedropper, you can refill it.

Question:	This is for the company: After 3 yrs, my sharpener now squeals when sharpening a pencil. Still under warranty; what can I do to get it quiet again
Answer:	I would contact the company...that is what I did when mine stopped working. Just google X-acto and go to "ask questions" on their website for ways to contact them. I had a great response with the customer service. I believe I called them first and talked to a person right away. Then I emailed my receipt to them to verify when I bought the sharpener. They were probably the easiest company that I have dealt with in a long time!
Question:	What does "This is an aftermarket of generic part" mean for this product
Answer:	Hello, I am unsure, as this looks to be directly, from the manufacturer. There is a warranty that is included with it.
Question:	i use "soft lead black pencils(2b/3b. will the leads break
Answer:	I know this is an old post, but still useful for shoppers. The leads won't break from my experience. I use this sharpener for soft and extra soft charcoal pencils, med, hard, graphite 2B - 8B, soft pastel pencils, carbon pencils, colored pencils, just everything. I even use it to point the tip on the unraveling charcoal pencils, after I unravel, of course. So far no broken leads, all perfect. They only need a couple spins, and you can easily be sure not to shorten the pencil. Even if you wait for the LED for a nice sharp point, it only shortens it by 1/8 inch. But I just put them in for a couple revolutions, and they're sharp enough without being shorter. Question:	How long does it last in a classroom
Answer:	I bought mine a year ago for my then 6 year old first grader for home use. I had also bought him 6 boxes of 36 count Ticonderoga Beginners - Primary Size pencils (extra fat). He loves his sharpner so much that he decided to sharpen all 216 pencils. When doing homework at night he would purposely press hard to break the lead, just so that he could run back and sharpen his pencil with it. We had to start keeping 5 or 6 pencils at a time at the table while doing homework just to avoid that. If this sharpner can put up to his daily abuse, it should do fine in a classroom setting.
