They may not handle the next strike very well and damage the important equipment you plug into this. It is best to purchase a new one so that it will work properly for the next lighting strike. If this is a common occurrence at your home, you should look into lighting arrestors and better ground for your electrical connection to the power grid. I would not trust the protection light (Green) if you are smelling any sort of burnt wire smell. The likelihood of a fire hazard is increased - if wire insulation has melted due to heat from the lighting strike. If I remember correctly, MOVs usually fail to an open state but I would not bet on it without testing. It is cheap insurance to throw this out and replace it with new.

To be safe, you always have to use whatever cable modem/router that is supported by your cable provider like Xfinity so you can have Internet, TV, phone services. If the cable modem/router also supports WiFi, the WiFi device that comes with it is usually not too good in terms of performance, features, and coverage so it would be best to have an additional WiFi device like this Belkin N750 DB WiFi because this supports both 5GHz (up to 450 Mbps) and 2.4 GHz (up to 300 Mbps). It also has added features like Gigabit ports, Wireless printing, support for Media server, and QoS. It is very easy adding this WiFi device to your existing cable modem/router.

Answer:	If you're getting those speeds from what you're using, leave things alone. Your bandwidth provider is more essential for speed than any specific modem. Check user groups and see if there are any favorite modem-router combinations. Software can also make a difference, depending how much you change settings or link up with content that prefers one particular bit of equipment over another.
Question:	is it backwards comp. will it work with 802.11g/b laptop wireless cards
Answer:	I would like to answer if it were in my knowledge, from what i understand it has 2 fequencies available one marked 40c, another marked 40c.5mgz, the system selects from between those 2 automaticly (maybe you can also select) the guest one is for you to let someone use the network but not allow them to remain on unless you allow them to sign on again. I just leave mine on 40c and all works well, for more accurate info maybe you could e mail belkin, hope this helps somewhat.

Question:	Would this work if I plugged it into a console? I play fortnite on mouse and keyboard on my Xbox
Answer:	My PS4 read it as a keyboard. Unfortunately for me, the console only reads one keyboard at a time, so it doesn't work as extra input over and above the keyboard I had already attached.
Question:	Is there a version that has the joystick on the left side? As a digital artist who is left handed this product as it's shown would do little to help
Answer:	There is not. At least, not a Razer one. If they ever came out with a right handed keypad, then the thumb hat would be on the left side.

Answer:	Yes. But they end up dying in two to three months of use.
