Answer:	It's interesting how different people have differing perceptions of dimensions. The smallest under-door opening that you'll be able to practically use these door stops is right about 3/8". The short end ramps up sharply and then settles into the slope of the body at about this height. I purchased a number of these and have found them to be ideal. Most doors clear the floor by 3/8" - 1/2" and that gap is seldom much over an inch unless someone cut a door too short, and these stops work very well across that range.

Answer:	there is a rubber-like bottom. it holds our door slightly open on a tile floor just fine, but probably would not stand up to pressure from an automatic door closer or a strong bit of wind.

Answer:	We use it in the office. Since the wedge is made by metal arounded it should be strong enough to stop the big dog push the door wider, however, you also have to consider what kind material of your floor is. The wedge might be moved if the floor could not hold it.
Question:	will it hold on tile? Can I slide it with my foot to move it under the door? Will it hold a spring loaded door
Answer:	Yes it's surely hold on tile thanks to the rubbery bottom. You can always force it by slide it with your foot. I don't know what you mean the spring loaded door but this one is quite heavy duty. It can hold up to very heavy wooden door. Hope this helps. My only problem with it is the height of my door. Otherwise, it's perfect.

Answer:	About an inch. The door where I use it is higher so it sits on a piece of foam. That works fine for me.

Answer:	I think it is too tightly woven to insert anything but you could attach it to a rock. It is very solid. It would loose some of the cuteness. This is to keep a door open on Lake Michigan and it does the trick. I like it cause it is so authentic as it is real rope. Use this for a cool artifact and glue some felt onto the bottom of a cool brick and use the brick. This is a cool heavy nautical decoration. I hope this helps. From Lake Michigan!
