Answer:	The bottom drawer is 12 inches wide by a little more than 10 inches deep. If the metal 'hangers' in the hanging files are extended on each side, they fit very normally. The hanging files will sit side-to-side, not from front-to-back. There also are two metal dividers to compartmentalize your hanging files.
