Answer:	I have never experienced a focus problem with the scanner. It scans either slides one at a time from the front or film strips from the side. Either the negative is out of focus or the scanner does not focus properly. I would say check back with the manufacture for help.

Answer:	I use this fine product in my job. The answer to your question is in the software. Open the program. Go to the upper left, hit "scan", go to "multi-scan". In the lower part of the box, type in the "range". For Example 1-50 for the entire tray.

Answer:	a7R3 with MC-11 adapter for Canon lenses "hunts" a LOT and for me was not acceptable except to use on manual for macro work. Thus, I expect the adapters will not work for the R4 either. You would not want to buy this great camera and then use Canon lenses. Besides the functionality questions, from a business perspective, Canon and Nikon are getting so far behind Sony and are way undercapitalized compared to Sony, I see their problem getting worse and Sony continuing to rapidly gain market share. The value of my Canon lenses dropped dramatically in the time it took me to bite the bullet and sell all my Canon equipment.

Question:	What is the tv jack for? the manual said it is a phone jack, but none of tv has a phone plug
Answer:	While it's true that camera "film" can't be exposed to light, DEVELOPED film becomes a "negative", which CAN be exposed to light. So far, I've converted about 200 35 mm slides to digital photos without any problems. I haven't tried using negatives yet, but I'm sure the result will be the same. It's a fantastic little machine.
Question:	Can this scan 120 film
Answer:	With a Mac, you have to save images to an SD card or the device's built-in memory (only 128 MB). Then you choose USB Upload and you can transfer the images to your computer.
Question:	Are the Reels for 8mm film scanning included or are they an extra cost? None are shown in the advertisement
Answer:	I'm not sure about that as I have only produced a digital image from a negative.
Question:	Does this connect to the computer to save the photos onto hard drive or do you need the SD card
Answer:	Not being an expert on the computer, I am not sure what "ntsc" means, but I do NOT use an sd card with my Kodak Scanner. I have the scanner plugged directly into my laptop, and the digital images go straight to the E drive, from where I easily put them into folders under My Pictures. So far I have done about 1,100 slides, and I am so very happy with the quality of the digital images. I also have had fun editing for brightness and color. Many of my digital images are better than the original slides! I am extremely happy with this product.

Question:	Will it scan half-frame 35 mm slides
Answer:	If the half-frame slides are mounted in standard 2"×2" mounts you can easily load them in the slide carrier. You can crop the image in the scanning software or subsequently in other image editing software.
Question:	How many mp (megapixels) is the max. capability of this scanner? maybe i don't understand the math, but 10k x 10k seems like 100mp... is that correct
Answer:	Your math is basically correct. A full frame 35mm negative at 10K resolution is about 9000 by 13000 pixels, which, as you noted is 117 Mpixels (and just over a GB if you save the IR layer along with all the colors). I also believe (but can't locate the source) that the actual scan limits are 5K along the CCD and 10K for the stepper, implying that interpolated values are used for every other horizontal pixel.

Answer:	No. Scans 35mm film only.

Answer:	It scans full frame.

Answer:	Yes, it can scan a few types of panoramas including Horizon 24x58, Widelux 24x59, and XPan 24x65. For Panramas, it scan scan a maximum of 3 frames per strip, which is about the same as 6 frames for normal 135.
Question:	Will this scan an entire roll of uncut 35mm film at one time
Answer:	No it won’t. The machine does it by 6 negatives per “slide”. Once the slide is done it’ll eject the film it scanned and on to the next one. You will have to cut the roll into strips of 6 for it to work the best, but strips of 4 will work well too. However the company advertises only being able to scan a batch of 10 strips, and I was able to reliably scan about 15 with no issues.

Question:	It used to be that after photos are taken and still in the camera when roll is removed it cannot be exposed to light. How does this work
Answer:	U can look up YouTube how to pull out w the screw, inside is 35mm and it does work w this scanner

Answer:	Yes. The scanner records the images (JPG) on removable media like a camera or directly to the computer via USB cable (included). You can transfer via USB or by removing the media and transferring it that way
Question:	Does the type of media inserted determine the number of megapixels an image is converted to
Answer:	There is no tray, you push the 1st slide in. It is not in the center for the picture to show completely so you use the 2nd slide to push the 1st slide in position and after digitizing the 1st slide you continue to push the 2nd slide all the way in. The 1st slide is not yet all the way out so you push the 3rd slide in a little way so you can get the 1st slide out. Continue with all your slides. Once you do about 10-15 slides it become very routine and works well.
Question:	The ntsc out is really useless, only way to get digital images is to write to the sd card, correct
Answer:	I don’t know about the dpi but it is 14.0 megapixels (4320 X 3252). Much better than the old slides we have scanned in!

Question:	My old Minolta 'spy' type camera took 8mm slides mounted on standard 35mm (2x2) mounts. Any problems I should anticipate other than smaller images
Answer:	Right -- In addition, I had to have my computer tech make a house call because I couldn't make it happen though I was connected to the internet. Turned out, since I had been working with Windows 7 I had to upgrade to 10. This printer also turns out poor color quality compared to my old Canon.
Question:	What is the internal memory of the magnasonic fs71 35mm film scanner? some product descriptions say 128mb, but a customer service rep said 64mb
Answer:	Go to the actual Canon site and look or type in downloads/drivers you can then pick your model and it is a breeze from there, the info that actually came with the printer to go to a special download site was not working. At least not for me.
Question:	Does it scan black and white film
Answer:	No, the TR8620 does not have that feature. Other Canon printers do such as the PIXMA TS9020 which supports printing on multiple media types such as CD/DVD/Blu-ray Discs.
Question:	Does this model cover the full area of 35mm film/slide? Earlier scanners (by Kodak or Magnasonic) crop only about 90% or less on 35mm
Answer:	I never owned a TS9520, however, I did a TS8520 and I find that my new TR8620 shoots out the copies at a more rapid rate than the slower rate of the TS8520. Know that different ink cartridges are used for the TR8620 which are not the same as those used in the TS8520.

Question:	How "One Touch" is one touch? I want to scan thousands of slides into tiffs and later spend time with only a few to "fix" with software editor
Answer:	The scanner does not have an automatic advance for slides or film, rather you put the content into the carriage, then insert it to the scanner and each advance is manual. Once you get your settings for scanning set, save them and reload the settings each session. You can simply advance the carriage to each image then click the 'scan' button. It's pretty quick. Your sessions can be for whatever film or negative you have. For thousands of slides, you're going to want to be patient. Scanning takes 30 seconds or so per frame, depending on the dpi you choose, but this is nowhere close to a 'thousand slides in an evening' proposition...

Infrared light has a very wide wave-length, which allows it to pass through film emulsion of negatives and slides without resistance, as opposed to scratches and dust particles that reflect it. SilverFast iSRD utilizes this behavior as follows.

The image is scanned two times - the first is the regular scan and the second is the additional infrared scan that captures defects like dust and scratches only. Then the calculative dust and scratch removal takes effect, only where the infrared channel has detected any defects without losing any important details.

In conclusion, OpticFilm 8200i Series can automatically remove the dust and scratches from the scanned image.

Dust and scratches are removed during the scanning process eliminating the need for post-process removal of dust and scratches.

Answer:	Not sure what a negative tray set is, but this can do negatives, 1 at a time. There is a setting you make before scanning that changes the mode to negatives. Unlike some more expensive models that allow you to do several frames or photos at a time, this is made for just one at a time.

Question:	Has anyone printed 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 prints of the scans made from this machine
Answer:	No, I haven't, only scanning so far. I'm old school, if I were going to enlarge it, I would use the original slide for optimum quality.
Question:	This sounds like a pretty nifty device, but what about the picture quality? One of the responders volunteered that the pictures were "fuzzy
Answer:	It does work very well and easy to use. How I did it was to scan the slides on to an SD card then loaded on to a computer to save. The quality of the copy is the quality of the slide, there isn't an edit on it. In my case the slides that were fuzzy were that way because of fuzz on the slide or lens that just needed to be cleaned off. This did what I wanted to do, preserve the picture. It's not perfect or edited, it's what it always had been for 60-70 years, now it's in a more permanent form. It was well worth it.
Question:	Are there suggestions somewhere for how to take the red out of slides? Not pleased with how red the slides look
Answer:	Any good photo editing program can color correct your pictures and remove red fading. Most people use Photoshop these days but it's really expensive. I bought Corel Paints Shop Pro which is less expensive. I'm sure there are others, maybe some free open source programs.
Question:	I just bought this and tried using it with slides - the color is so far off that the image is barely recognizable - is there a trick to use this
Answer:	Yes this is. It will give you satisfactory results. The instructions are useless. I was so discussed I just shelved the unit for a couple months. Finally with more time and a new determination I kept working with the control buttons till I understood their logic. If the color seems completely off your may have the scanner set for working with negatives. That is the default setting. You have to use the crude menu to find the slide setting. Question:	Is this compatible with the epson perfection v
Answer:	The V330 does have a built in transparency unit. My V330 came with a slide deck but I lost it. I scanned a lot of negatives and slides with it.
Question:	Will this holder work with the epson V300 scanner
Answer:	Might
Question:	Are these compatible with the Canon Canoscan 8800f
Answer:	I do not know the Canon product, so can't directly answer your question, however there is a cutout and dot pattern on it than is specific to the Epson scanner in transmission mode and the Epson scanner software. There are detents in the Epson platform that use the tab on the side as an alignment guide.
Question:	Is this compatible with the Epson Perfection 3490 Photo
Answer:	After viewing the photos online I would say that all photo/slide/negative adapters that are included with the Perfection V600 should work on the 3490 also. There are also other adapters available from Amazon that allow 110 and 127 negatives to be scanned. I have those and they work great.
