Answer:	I'm having the same issue. I installed mine via my WIFI network and apparently when you do it that way it doesn't auto select and the directions don't explain it. I was reading in one of the forum on the Brother site and it explained how to install to get the auto select to operate. I just don't remember how to do it considering I need my network capabilities more than the auto select.
Question:	Can the scanning function create a multiple-page pdf file? Or will I end up with a separate pdf file for every page that I scan

Tried it with my Mac and a windows laptop.

Answer:	Yes you can. I just scanned a 5 page document using the document feeder. Worked great!

Answer:	Yes it hinges up. The rear hinges seem to be able to lift up higher than just a page, like on a book, but it definitely lifts up. I normally lift up the top to scan one or two pages vs. using the document feed.

Answer:	The 880 has touch screen fax buttons instead of physical buttons, uses different print cartridge model numbers (newer possibly) and has NFC support for phones that support. I have not used a 870 so I'm not sure if the 880s touchscreen is more responsive but usually they update the processor on refreshes. Answer:	Printers do not come with phone lines. You have to sign up for them with your local phone company, or with Spectrum if they are in your area. Since a phone line often costs more than $10 per month I suggest you try myfax.com, a service which will allow you to send and receive unlimited faxes through your email. It cost $10 per month and is very reliable. A less reliable firm is eFax but I discontinued them years ago and went to myfax.
