Question: is it good

Question: What makes this a "blues" harmonica
Answer: These are Hohner marine band harmonicas but they are definitely not the marine band crossover. The crossover is the high end marine band that has a distinctive bamboo comb and they are priced at about $90-$100 each. Worth while in my opinion. My favourite harmonica.

User questions & answers

Question: what does the name special 20 imply
Answer: The primary difference appears to be cosmetic, in that the cover plate has changed (for the worse, in my opinion). Rather than the fancier script it reads "Special 20" with the word "Progressive" in the middle. The screw heads that hold the reed plate in are smaller than before, and the diameter of the screws is about half of what it was. There are a couple of other little changes too, but not worth mentioning.None of these things are a big deal in terms of playability - pretty much non-issues, really. I'd still go for the earlier model (stores have tons of them around) just on looks, the older model just has a cooler appearance. Also, you could watch for sales on these (just before Christmas Amazon had a set of 5 for $106).Still, it's a good harp.
Question: Is it the made in Germany version or chinese
Answer: I just purchased a C. I don't think it should matter too much unless you have a band you're playing with that has instruments in a certain key. In other words, I think you should know if you need a certain key. If you don't, you're fine.
Question: The answer above says the 560bx-c Special 20 is a newer version of the Special 20. What has changed to make it newer
Answer: the last time I had a Lee Oskar harps it was made in Japan.
Question: I'm a beginner, looking for a decent harmonica to learn on. Can anyone recommend what key I should purchase, or does it matter
Answer: Lee Oskar Harmonicas are made by Tombo in Japan.

Hohner 64 Chromonica Harmonica - Key of C

Hohner Accordions

Based on 148 reviews Check latest price

Product description

When it came on the market in 1938, the 64 Chromonica was the first chromatic to boast a range of over four octaves. Thanks to the additional bottom octave, it took the tonal range of the harmonica into registers where it had never before been heard, as well as brought many pieces from the classical repertoire within the reach of the instrument. It also enabled the eerie, deep-toned growl and full chords of amplified chromatic harp which swiftly became an integral part of the blues tradition, a sound which lives on to this day. It defined the industry standard for professional quality 4 octave chromatics and has gone on to inspire generations of players in blues, soul, jazz and classical music. Whether you play alone or in a band, if you’re looking for a real workhorse 64 chromatic it’s still your best bet.

  • Key of C major
  • Plastic comb
  • 64 classic Chromonica reeds
  • Full 4 octave range
  • Hard shell case

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with a case
Answer: A great musician, band conductor and family friend told my father that the harmonica is the hardest instrument to learn. Anyone can learn a few chords and mess around like Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, etc. I don’t think that is hard. But to really play it well like Jimmy Z, Stevie Wonder or Charlie Mussewhite? Not easy.
Question: I inherited a 64 chromonica 4 chromatic octaves c professional M.Hohner. what is its value
Answer: No they are not. You have the Chromonica 280 sometimes called Chromonica 64 that's the Chromonica series. Then you have the Super 64C that is from the Super 64 series. Lots of times the name listed is not the one used by Hohner and marketplaces label it wrong. Checj our website for more info.
Question: Is it easy to learn how to play it
Answer: Lysol is poisonous, and to play a harmonica you have to put in your mouth. So yes, you CAN, but unless you’re Donald Trump it is not advisable.
Question: are hohner 280C and hohner super 64 chromatica same harmonica
Answer: This is the C major harmonica. It is hard because because Amazon keeps changing the product title and description.

User questions & answers

Question: So you dont have one for adults
Answer: A really great website that has thousands and thousands of harmonica song tabs is harptabs.com , I go there every day, songs are uploaded by people who go there for other people who go there. They have almost every song you can think of. There are songs from around the world. It is just awesome! Plus, it's all FREE! You can use the songs whether you register or not, but to save them to favorites you need to just register, for free of course. It's old school website, no fancy pictures or anything.
Question: Why I’m not getting any sound from hole
Answer: We think 10-hole harmonica is fit beginner more than 20.It's small enough to slip into your pocket that you can play it wherever you go.
Question: Do you need a play chart, songs info
Answer: Did you buy it from Amazon? They clearly mark what key and what tuning the harmonica is in! If you ordered a C and standard tuning and it came as a C in Paddy Richter tuning Amazon will be happy to replace it. Seydel Harmonicas are the best harmonicas in the world! They are still "Hand Made" in Klingenthal, Germany. Most come in all 12 keys some more because of lower keys. They have 8 tunings that you can choose from or if you wish they will tune it any way you want, by using their Configurator. The only reason that Hohner Harmonicas are so popular is because Seydel was on the wrong side of the Berlin Wall. But very few Hohner Harmonicas are Hand Made anymore and very few are still made in Germany...they are made by cheap companies in Japan! With that being said, the second best harmonica company in the world is Suzuki, from japan. These are the only two Harmonicas that I would buy! I hope this helps. VTII
Question: What size is this harmonica? i'm a beginner and don't know what size i need? 10-hole or 20-hole
Answer: Perhaps there is a replacement reed option, but I got a complete harmonica.

User questions & answers

Question: Are these harmonicas diatonic or chromatic
Answer: This question is almost impossible to answer. When one plays with other musicians, one never knows what key will come up next. The really good players can also play in different keys on the same harmonica using bending techniques, and I imagine most pros have a collection of harps in different keys (there are 12 possible). But based on the number of harmonicas sold, the most common, by far, is the key of C. That is no doubt influenced by vast numbers of beginners who buy a harp and discard it after 3 weeks.
Question: do these harmonicas come with cases
Answer: Great harmonica. Nothing sounds like it. They are manufactured where they began. Germany.
Question: which key of harmonica is mostly used by the pro blues players
Answer: I have several and all of them were made in Germany.
Question: where they made.thanks
Answer: Yes it is. Sometimes, I tune my guitar down 1/2 step, and with the F#, you can still play in G. The harmonica is not a Low F# if that is what you meant, but standard, 1/2 step lower than G.
