Question: | Any suggestions on a hardshell case ? would be greatly appreciated. I'm 2 steps away from purchasing this |
Answer: | Hi, while Dean do make a case, you'll find that the banjo fits pretty much any standard size hardcase. I think I searched for 6 string banjo case. There are plenty online. AP make a super cool two tone one . Expect to pay atound $60 US for a basic case up to $180 for Crossrock. Good luck. |
Question: | does it have a back or is it open |
Answer: | It has a closed back. It is quite easy to install a range of piezo based pickups either as clip ons or through the strap button or you can go more upgrade too. The banjo is quite loud regardless. Hope thathelps. |
Question: | Feasible to set up with only 5 strings (delete bass string) and played like a regular banjo? Problem with 5th string being shorter on banjo |
Answer: | Since the standard tuning for the 5 string banjo is GDGBD, you can tune strings 1 and 5 a whole step down then you can play it like a 5 string banjo. Note however that the 5th string will be one octave lower than a standard tuned banjo with the short string. |
Question: | Does this have an amplifier hookup or acoustic only |
Answer: | it doesn't come with a hookup; one can be added using a bridge peizo mic/system but this instrument is acoustic out of the box |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the tuner work for all string instruments |
Answer: | Unfortunately no, I only have the deck designed for 6 string guitars. |
Question: | How would you tune the smaller size banjo, also size wise would you say concert or tenor ukulele |
Answer: | Hi Jay - There isn't currently a deck designed specifically for bass guitars at the moment. This deck however can still be very useful to a bass player. For example all of the note cards, interval cards, key cards and theory cards will still apply. The only cards that might not apply well are the chord cards and the scale cards because it might be tricky for a bass player to visualize removing the last 2 strings. I hope that helps. |
Question: | Is there a left hand version available |
Answer: | Hey! This deck is intended for both left handed and right handed players, charts are written the same regardless of what your primary hand is. |
Question: | Can someone tell me why they suggest tuning to open c as opposed to open g |
Answer: | Can you please send me an email at [email protected] and I'll send you a copy of the pdf. |
