3 best stereo keyboard amplifiers
Stereo keyboard amplifiers are specialized amplification systems designed to enhance the sound produced by electronic keyboards and synthesizers. Here are some key points related to stereo keyboard amplifiers, keyboard accessories, instrument accessories, and musical instruments:
Purpose: The primary purpose of a stereo keyboard amplifier is to amplify and project the sound of electronic keyboards and synthesizers. Unlike guitar amplifiers, keyboard amplifiers are designed to reproduce the full range of frequencies produced by keyboards.
Stereo Configuration: Stereo amplifiers are capable of reproducing sound in two channels (left and right), providing a spatial dimension to the audio. This can be especially important for keyboards that have stereo outputs or for creating a wider soundstage.
Power and Wattage: Keyboard amplifiers come in various power ratings, measured in watts. The wattage determines the volume and projection capability of the amplifier. Higher wattage is generally preferred for larger venues or situations where a louder sound is required.
Inputs and Outputs: Stereo keyboard amplifiers typically feature multiple input channels to accommodate various keyboards and other audio sources. They may also have additional outputs for connecting to external speakers or a sound system.
Equalization and Effects: Many stereo keyboard amplifiers come with built-in equalization controls, allowing musicians to tailor the sound to their preferences. Some models also include onboard effects such as reverb or chorus, providing additional sonic versatility.
Portability: Portability is a consideration, especially for musicians who frequently gig or move their equipment. Some stereo keyboard amplifiers are designed to be lightweight and easy to transport, making them suitable for on-the-go musicians.
Versatility: In addition to keyboards, these amplifiers can often be used with other electronic instruments such as electronic drums, digital pianos, and synthesizers. This versatility makes them a valuable asset for musicians with diverse setups.
Brand Options: Various audio equipment manufacturers offer stereo keyboard amplifiers. Brands like Roland, Yamaha, Behringer, and Korg are well-known for producing quality keyboard amplification solutions.
Monitoring and Stage Use: Stereo keyboard amplifiers are often used as stage monitors in live performances. They provide musicians with a clear and accurate representation of their keyboard's sound on stage, helping them stay in sync with the band.
Price Range: The price of stereo keyboard amplifiers can vary widely depending on factors such as power, features, and brand. Entry-level models may be suitable for beginners, while professional-grade amplifiers with advanced features are available for more seasoned musicians.
When choosing a stereo keyboard amplifier, it's essential to consider your specific needs, the size of the venues you'll be performing in, and the features that matter most to you. Reading user reviews and consulting with fellow musicians can also provide valuable insights into the performance and durability of different amplifier models.

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this amp power external stereo speakers |
Answer: | you can use a monitor with it and a sub woofer, but I have never tried using external passive speakers. |
Question: | How is the sound at low volume? does it have wheels |
Answer: | Hello Rich, No wheels, lies flat on the floor. Quite heavy, so it stays in my basement music room. I think it sounds good at low volume, but that is rather subjective. Also, I was originally playing through a Fender Princeton Chorus guitar amp, which really isn't made for keyboards. By the way, my keyboard is a Roland Juno-88. I hope this helps. |
Question: | Can this handle a bass with a low b string |
Answer: | I am using it with a Hammond SK2 keyboard. When I hit the lower keys it plays loud enough for our bass player to turn around and look so depending on how loud you play, I'm guessing it would do the job |
Question: | Is there an insert hole on the bottom of the amp for a pole mount stand? in particular, is this speaker compatible with roland's st-a95 amp stand |
Answer: | I don't know about Roland's stands but there is no hole in the bottom. This is a heavy amp so I wouldn't do that. It's a great keyboard amp. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the KC-990 include a cover |
Answer: | Non use load drain in next to non existent. There is a small status led but it’s not pulling barley anything. |
Question: | I read that it has capacity to be connected to other roland (same speakers)... but im wndering about a line to stage p.a.??? name ??? of specificati |
Answer: | This isn't a power supply. Meant for charging 3.7 volt li ion batteries, so the output varies with state of charge. The voltage on the "out" pads varies with the battery voltage down to the cut off at about 3 volts..if you need 3.3-3.7 volts, it would work but not constant or regulated. |
Question: | Can an effects pedal be connected to this amplifier |
Answer: | Yes. Out + and - are for the load. B + and - are for the battery. They share a common anode (+) on the board, but the cathodes (-) are separate. |
Question: | What is this amp covered in? Carpet, fabric, tolex |
Answer: | This works with any Micro USB compatible device. |
