User questions & answers

Question: How does this fare on a regular 6 string guitar
Answer: As others have responded, it works great with both 6 and 12-string guitars. In fact, I see no reason to buy the 6-string version because this works perfectly with 6 and 12-string guitars. I use it on both. I disagree with the person who said the 6- string version works better on 6-string guitars.
Question: What's the difference between the schuub original 12 string capo and the deluxe shuub 12 string capo
Answer: Originally, the Shubb Original 12 string capo came with the black plastic-tipped adjusting screw as shown. The Deluxe model had a rolling wheel instead of the black plastic screw. Then I think Shubb changed the Original so that it also has the wheel, and I believe the Original is made overseas while the Deluxe has always been made in the USA.

User questions & answers

Question: Do y’all think that the tension on this capo would be enough to work with a 12-string? Thank you in advance
Answer: Because a 12 string guitar has a slightly radiused fingerboard, you'll want to use a Shubb specifically designed for a 12-string. Try this one..C3K Shubb Capo Noir Series 12 String Guitar Capo - Black Chrome
Question: Are there any problems using this capo with an acoustic or electric guitar
Answer: Jack: No problems. Adjust it to your guitar's neck size, snap it on, and play. My guitar instructor likes the Shubb better than his capo. I recommend the C2 highly. Very easy to use and very well made.
Question: Will this work on a wide neck true Classical guitar
Answer: The C2 was designed specifically for Classical Guitars with Nylon strings and wide necks. (2"+ width) Therefore is should work perfectly.
Question: Work on half size classical guitar
Answer: Thanks for the question. Yes, the C2 Shubb Capo will work fine on a 1/2 size Classical guitar. The key is that it is for Nylon string guitars with FLAT fingerboards. (As opposed to Radius fingerboards found on most steel string or Western Guitars.)

User questions & answers

Question: What's the difference between the C1 & the S1? (The S1 page has a little bit of info, but this C1 page doesn't seem to have any
Answer: I think the less expensive C1 is made of nickel, while the more expensive S1 is made of stainless steel. Structurally, I think they're the same. I have the C1 and am very happy with it.
Question: Does this work on a Taylor gs mini , or 3/4 guitar
Answer: Yes, it works on my daughter’s Taylor GS mini.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this capo able to fit on a 12 string guitar? Also is it able to fit on an ukulele? I lost my shubb capo and i'm looking to buy the same one
Answer: It should work fine on your ukulele, though it may be a little large. As for the 12 string I recommend that you make sure that the rubber is as long as your previous capo. I ordered one of these and it was a tad short for my six-string Martin D 28, which has a fairly wide neck. I use it mostly with my D 16, which has a narrower neck. So you should make should that the rubber is long enough for your guitar.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work on a mandolin
Answer: Very likely, since both necks are narrow.
Question: Will this work on a banjo
Answer: Yes. Of course you'll need spikes or some other style of fifth string capo as well. If you're playing a five string, that is. I use it more on the banjo than the uke now.
Question: Will this work for a guitarlele? i have a kanile'a guitarlele
Answer: I have a baritone uke that I use it on all the time. I really like it because it screws shut and never slips. Plus it's reasonably small and does not get in the way of your fingers when you're playing. It's also not plastic and is pretty sturdy.
Question: Will this work on a baritone uke
Answer: Yes, this item will work on the baritone ukulele! thanks for the question!
Question: How do I specify 1/2 version
Answer: This did not work on my Goldtone Resophonic. Your situation is different, It all has to do with string distance from the neck. Call Shubb!
Question: Does this capo fit a boxcar neck on a dobro
Answer: In my experience, dobros come in two (2) neck configurations: 1. Square neck (boxcar neck?) limiting the instrument to being fretted with a steel slide or bar (I use a Stevens Steel) and; 2. Round neck which may be fretted with a steel bar or by changing the nut and thus lowering the strings, allows the instrument to be tuned as a conventional guitar and the smaller neck allows the instrument to fretted with one's fingers. The round neck is a bit more versatile but, depending on high tension tuning (A) is more subject to warping. Square necks almost never warp. I own a Shubb C6B capo and it will work on my square neck instrument. However, I rarely use it. It's a bit cumbersome and requires both hands to install. I suggest exploring Charlie's Capo on line. Charlie's capo, stainless steel,is more expensive than the Shubb but is easily and quickly installed, or uninstalled, with only one hand. I put mine on and take it off using only my left hand.
Question: Does this work for lap steels or Weissenborn guitars
Answer: It does but not very well. I would suggest you look at the Beard wave capo or ones like it. They are much better and also easier to use one handed.
Question: Ive got a reso i raised the nut on to go dobro style. Been looking for a capo thst would work on this . Will the shubn work
Answer: It your Resonator guitar is a Squareneck design. The shubb Capo is the perfect choice. If it is a round neck with just a raised nut, it will not be effective.
