I ordered one of these and it was a tad short for my six-string Martin D 28, which has a fairly wide neck. I use it mostly with my D 16, which has a narrower neck. So you should make should that the rubber is long enough for your guitar. |

| Answer: | In my experience, dobros come in two (2) neck configurations: 1. Square neck (boxcar neck?) limiting the instrument to being fretted with a steel slide or bar (I use a Stevens Steel) and; 2. Round neck which may be fretted with a steel bar or by changing the nut and thus lowering the strings, allows the instrument to be tuned as a conventional guitar and the smaller neck allows the instrument to fretted with one's fingers. The round neck is a bit more versatile but, depending on high tension tuning (A) is more subject to warping. Square necks almost never warp. I own a Shubb C6B capo and it will work on my square neck instrument. However, I rarely use it. It's a bit cumbersome and requires both hands to install. I suggest exploring Charlie's Capo on line. Charlie's capo, stainless steel,is more expensive than the Shubb but is easily and quickly installed, or uninstalled, with only one hand. I put mine on and take it off using only my left hand. |
