User questions & answers
Question: | Does anyone have any issues with this pedal "sliding" forward while playing with an E drum kit? Seems to be an issue with E drums |
Answer: | Adam T. is correct. I would imagine even an electronic kit needs some type of carpet under it for the kick and hi-hat pedals. |
Question: | Can i replace the beaters with the dw felt ones |
Answer: | They are felted on one side and plastic on the other. Take a beater and check the size of you want to change them. |
Question: | What's the size of the footboard? They are longboards |
Answer: | Not sure of the actual size but they are not long boards |
Question: | How does this pedal compare to the Iron Cobra 600?Does anyone have any experience with both pedals? Tks |
Answer: | The iron cobra is a great pedal, however, IMO the DW is smoother. I didn't have enough money to buy the 9000 series but if you do the 9000 is so unbelievably amazing. The 3000 is great for my needs currently. |

Question: | What is a electronic bass pedal sensor to get with this kicker? (does not work with the stock alesis dm6 nitro sensor |
Answer: | The Nitro DM6 Kick Tower does not work well with double kick pedals. It only triggers in the center of the pad and base design is too narrow to properly adjust pedal position. I use my Yamaha KP65 for double kick action. Great bounce back, excellent triggering and plugs right in the Nitro Kit. |

Answer: | dyou ever figure this out? trying to determine this myself |

User questions & answers
Question: | are these good for heel toe playing |
Answer: | I don’t play much heel toe, however I really like the pedal and they can be adjusted for any style. My research found keeping the beater at 45 degrees and the springs as tight as they go and they respond really well. Hope this helps |
Question: | including plastic case or nylon bag |
Answer: | It includes a pretty nice nylon bag. |
Question: | is it made in Taiwan |
Answer: | USA |
Question: | How's the reliability of this so far to all? I have a Gibraltar that's over 25-years old I need to replace...its 25-years old |
Answer: | We got the 9000 for my father last year and it feels like a tank. I've been using a 5000 for around 10 and it seems like the day I got it. I'm not a super heavy user though. More of a casual in home drummer. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these sturdy, good quality |
Answer: | Heck yeah they are very good but I would also try the new Yamaha fp9 double bass pedal and similar HH stand.. or even AXIS.. I know a guy who has a high botique drum shop and he lives by the Yamaha stuff as far as bass pedal and hh stand.. I want to get my hands on the Yamaha stuff real bad it’s better and cheaper |
Question: | Is this better than the |
Answer: | It all depends if you prefer direct drive or chain drive. This is sureley the best dorect drive pedal you can find in the market. If you prefer more of a fluid feel I would recomend chained drive so check the 9000 or the MDD Chain drive. |
Question: | is it made in USA |
Answer: | Yes, the DW MDD machined Direct Drive Double Pedal is made in USA in CA were DW manufacture is. We will give you a NEW Pedal w/ Full warranty for $900.00 Andrews Bros. Recording (262) 632-9222 is an authorized DW dealer. ABR-MusicVideo (262) 632-9222 |
Question: | why is this so expensive |
Answer: | I'm not a fan of DW, I am a Pearl guy. I've been playing for 11 years, and I'm slightly older than that. Axis pedals are better than this I'll say. But it all depends on personal preference. Axis A21's are smoother and less expensive. They are direct drive and are extremely capable of all that the Machine Drive Pedal is. Maybe not in the exact same ways (like the adjustable weights, the way you adjust the spring tension) but they are just as good at a more affordable price. They are both good pedals I have tried both and fell in love with the Axis A21 pedals. |

The DW 9002PC "LEFTY" Double Pedal is just what you need for reaction and speed. To create incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action, the 9000's Floating Rotor is not permanently affixed on a conventional drive shaft but is mounted on a free-floating drive shaft using friction-reducing ball-bearings. In addition, the patented Rotor can be infinitely adjusted using the Infinite Torque Adjustment for a variety of positions from center (Turbo-style) to eccentric (Accelerator-style), achieving the desired balance of power and precision in any playing situation. Furthermore, by moving the location of the Floating Spring from the end of the hex shaft to the center of the pedal, the vertical alignment of the moving parts is maintained and the indirect transfer and loss of energy is virtually eliminated - further optimizing the pedal's speed and power and precision.
- Delta ball-bearings at the rocker, hex shaft, and hinge.
- Employs friction-reducing ball-bearings in the rotor and spring connector.
- Dual/side adjusting hoop clamp, 101 2-way beater, built-in spurs, and lightweight aluminum pedal plates and linkages

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit my axis longboards HEX drive |
Answer: | There is a DW specific version as the female end on the universal won't fit the DW pedals. The universal on should fit. Side note: I actually talked to the guys at trick. They are really cool and will gladly answer any questions or concerns that you may have. |
Question: | Will this fit my pdp 400 series pedals |
Answer: | I'm not sure. But, since it fits the DW pedals, PDP may very well use the same shaft configuration. However, the, "Concept" models, either the PDDPCXFD, or the PDDPCXF, both have a driveshaft connecting the two pedals, but they look thinner than the driveshaft that DW supplies. But I really don't know. You won't know unless you buy it and try to see if it fits and be prepared to send it back if it doesn't fit. |
Question: | Will it fit dw |
Answer: | It works great with my DW 9000. I believe it would with a 5000 |
Question: | Anyone know if this will work with the DW direct drive pedal |
Answer: | This is made to fit the DW 9000 double pedals I have upgraded two DW direct drive double bass pedals with a Trick drive shaft great improvement and durable . They make one for Tama. And Pearl too. |

User questions & answers
Question: | dose it swap to left foot and the out rig to the right side |
Answer: | As far as I can tell, no. You cannot switch the main pedal to the left instead of right. |
Question: | does this ship to australia |
Answer: | Thank you for the question. I can ship, if the address of Australia is known. I will inform you the shipping date once I confirm your payment. Please purchase by Amazon.com. |
Question: | I have used the iron c. rolling glide that is $399 in amazon's site, what is the difference? i have heard that the beaters tendo to drop when u play |
Answer: | I have used both for a fairly good amount of playing, although not back-to-back. I have found very little difference between the two. There have, so far, not been any fasteners coming loose, or parts needing re-adjustment after setting them the first time. Tama has always been, for me, very consistent even in their 'budget grade' equipment. This pedal plays extremely well and I recommend it. |
Question: | What is the difference between these and the IC |
Answer: | Other than the different finishes in the posts (600 has black anodized, 200 has polished silver) AND the 600 features a double-link chain for both pedals vs. the 200's single chain... I don't notice very much difference at all. Actions are very similar, both are equally adjustable and versatile. Both are TAMA-tough as well (great quality). |
