User questions & answers
Question: | Is this an original fender product |
Answer: | I believe it is manufactured in China to Fender specifications. I think it sounds good. |
Question: | Can it be restrung with nylon strings |
Answer: | I'm a new guitar player and do not know the answer to this question, however saying that, I believe the sounds with nylon strings would not be sharp and clean as with metal strings......good luck.... |
Question: | some guitars are more difficult due to the amount of pressure needed on strings by fingers. How does this guitar relate to that |
Answer: | Not much pressure at all. Great guitar from beginners!! |
Question: | Is the Yamaha worth a $100 more than this one |
Answer: | It's an instrument that emits sound. Paying an additional $100 bucks may or may not be worth it. I guess if you played both instruments side by side you could make a better decision. I do not know what your playing level easy, but if you are a beginner the Fender would be the best choice. Once you progress, and improve on your playing ability, then you would be in a better position see if you are going to stick with it and purchase the more expensive guitar. Always purchase based on your budget. If you are purchasing using a credit card and it puts you further in debt would it really be worth it? |

User questions & answers
Question: | The pick guard for my guitar came in a separate envelope. How should the pick guard be attached |
Answer: | If you get a pick guard that is not already attached, yes it is self adhesive. However, watch a video on the internet first on how to do it. You don't want to get it stuck in the wrong place, and you don't want air bubbles. Do a search for Replacing a Pick Guard, watch the video, and then you can do it yourself. |
Question: | I have this model. It's a great guitar, but the tuners are getting little bit old. Could you advise me which tuners must be the best for Seagull |
Answer: | Before you change tuners, check if they are simply getting sticky - sometimes a bit of white grease in the right spot sorts everything out. Also, they make replacements from the factrory. If upgrading, I'd probably go for a little better gear ratio in a quality tuner, makes it less quick and hair trigger to move up or down a bit. Always seemed a bit sensitive to me. 18/1 comes to mind... |
Question: | i have short fingers, will i be able to play this guitar |
Answer: | The nut width (width at the 1st fret) I believe is 1.8 inches. I also have somewhat short and chubby fingers. This guitar will be easier to play with the wider width. |
Question: | Would this be a good beginner choice for my 13 year old daughter? She is an accomplished piano player and begging for a guitar |
Answer: | The Seagull S-6 is a fabulous guitar, especially at this price. I've owned mine for almost nine years and I fall in love with it every time I take it out of the case and play it. But it's probably NOT the guitar your daughter needs if she's not a large 13 year old. I would highly recommend you consider a couple others (one of which I also own and love). I own a Taylor GS mini and my room mate owns a Baby Taylor. Either one will cost under $500. Both are reduced scale (3/4 size) guitars. My GS Mini is all Mahogany, while his Baby Taylor is Spruce top with Sapele back & sides (Sapele is an African wood much like Mahogany). I would try both of these great guitars an choose either one based upon fit and sound preference. |

User questions & answers
Question: | does it have an endpin |
Answer: | It does have an endpin for a strap but no electronics. |
Question: | How is the action |
Answer: | I found it to be high. I had it professionally set up and the action lowered. Now it plays much nicer. |
Question: | Is this nylon or steel string |
Answer: | This is a steel string, it comes with an .010 set on it. |
Question: | Does this come with a case |
Answer: | It comes with a lightweight, non-padded gigbag. Luna Guitars sells a Safari line heavy-padded gigbag if you wish a better one. Gear Buddy's AHC5 hardshell case will work if you cover the guitar with the gigbag first. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do you attach the guitar strap? There aren’t instructions for it and I don’t see attachments |
Answer: | There is a place on the bottom of the guitar to attach one end. The other end has a smaller string that can be attached to the strap using the little metal clip. I just used the smaller loop to make a loop around the end of the neck of the guitar (under the strings) and attached it that way. Most guitars have another button on the other side of the main body behind the neck, but this one does not. |
Question: | Do you have to put the strings on |
Answer: | No. The strings are already on. |
Question: | Please share the Return policy on this item |
Answer: | I don’t know. It came in perfect condition. |
Question: | Can this guitar be hooked up to an amp |
Answer: | Sorry, no this one can not. It's a beautiful sounding guitar, but no amp connection. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are there pegs to attach a strap to |
Answer: | I lost my regular black one that my dad gave me. I didn't even consider a different capo. I love the gold color and shimmer, it looks so pretty with my acoustic orange Ibanez! |
Question: | Can it be used together |
Answer: | The properties of the pad on the capo are such that this capo is likely to work well with either a six-string acoustic or a six-string electric guitar. The fact is: the difference in radius between most guitar fretboards is very small. There are a few exceptions to this, but if you own one of those guitars you probably already know that using a special capo is preferred. In addition, keep in mind that that capo works by pressing the strings down, not actually making perfect contact with the fretboard. This minimizes the differences even further. |
Question: | What is the width of the fingerboard at the nut |
Answer: | I know that this is slightly curved to match the necks of steel string electrics and acoustics, but because of its rubber surgace i think it will do fine. It is more universal than other capos ive used, and i think that for at least most of the neck of a classical it would do what it needs to. |
Question: | is the back solid or in two pieces |
Answer: | I bought both the "6 Rosewood Acoustic" and "E Electric Quick Change Capo". The rubber pad is 1/32 (.031") inch longer on the acoustic capo. The spring on the acoustic capo is stronger. The photos look like there is a rubber pad to protect the edge of the fretboard, but there IS NO PAD to protect the eedge of the fretboard. It is a piece of tape. It may provide some protection. The clamp leg could be longer. If you accidentally release before completely on, the end of the clamp leg may press against the neck. |
- Guitar Size:30 inch acoustic guitar 1/2 guitar small size acoustic guitar is very suitable for child and adults who like small guitar.
- Easy Tuning Heads: It is easy to adjust with the chrome geared tuning head to keep the guitar in tune. Smooth tuning pegs help a lot for people who are in hopes of training and learning acoustic guitar on their own.
- Guitar Material: Features a full-size dreadnought body with smooth curves, promoting comfort during playing. The solid basswood top, back and side produce a smooth, rich, full and vibrant sound ideal.
- Steel String Acoustic Guitar: 30 inch 1/2 Size acoustic guitar is set with 6 steel strings. Guitar sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other.
- About Tuning: For any guitar, it'll take time for the strings as well as the wood to adapt the pulling force. You may need to tune the guitar several times until the force is balanced and tune is settled. This is why you still need to tune the guitar before playing each time.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the FG840 have a strap button on bottom |
Answer: | There is a strap button on the body, but there is no strap button on the neck. You will need to have one put on yourself |
Question: | what is the difference between the fg830 and the fg |
Answer: | Hello, thanks for writing in! The FG830 features laminated rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. The FG840 features that same spruce top, but laminated flamed maple back and sides. This guitar is a bit brighter tonally than the FG830. If you have any other questions, let us know! Thanks again, and have a great day. -The Music Zoo |
Question: | What type of music is FG 840 best for |
Answer: | Folk music, bluegrass, contemporary, country music, etc. I play a bunch if different music styles, as I play some classic rock. The guitar is great for strumming, flat picking and finger picking. It's a very versatile guitar and I absolutely love it. It's bright sounding, but since I've had it for almost 2 years the guitar has opened up more and sounds warmer. Great guitar |
Question: | Is this good guitar for a begginer |
Answer: | These are really excellent guitars! I originally ordered the FS800 for a gift, but it turned out to be a bit small and exchanged it for the 840. Really nice sound and came setup ready to go! |
