User questions & answers
Question: | is it solid top? does it come with a case |
Answer: | According to the Guitar Center website, this guitar does not come with a case. As for whether it has a solid top, I was wondering the same thing. https://www.guitarcenter.com/Dean/AXS-Dreadnought-Quilt-Acoustic-Guitar-Natural-1361202707222.gc?pfm=search_page.rr1%7CRecentHistoricalItems |
Question: | I'm having a hard time restringing the guitar can anyone give me some pointers |
Answer: | I usually do mine on reverse. I thread the string through and coil it around according to how it's placed, usually from inside to out. So counter clock on the lower three strings and clockwise on the upper three. Run it through enough up to the bridge and secure with the pins. Make the length enough that you will not have a hard time tightening. One string at a time. With this you will have no extra messy string. You will learn your own technique on time. Don't give up. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this bag work for the fender cb-60sce acoustic bass |
Answer: | Sorry, this CAHAYA electric bass guitar measurement 49 x 15.7 x 2.4inch, it's too narrow to hold an acoustic bass guitar . |
Question: | Would i be able to take this case on an airplane with me |
Answer: | Zippers, pockets, finish and size are all good quality. Material is tough. There are a few innovative elements like the non-skid rubber foot and placement of the handle at the midpoint that make it easy to maneuver the guitar once loaded. The shoulder straps are nice if your walking and need to carry something in addition to the guitar. The padding is minimally adequate. That's not a quality issue. It's an economy issue. I only paid $16. My guitar fits perfectly - shallow bowl Adams style model |
Question: | Will this case fit a Taylor AB-3 acoustic bass |
Answer: | I think an electric guitar would not be snug in this case. It is large enough for an acoustic guitar, which is much thicker than an electric. |
Question: | Anyone know if this case fits an ibanez acoustic bass awb50ce |
Answer: | From images I have seen on the web, the archtop jazz guitar looks shallower than a dreadnought acoustic. Measure the overall length. If it's less than 41 inches, you're probably good to go. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it fit a lefty |
Answer: | I believe it's made for a bass with symmetrical bouts rather than with cutouts. The handle in the photo can make it look like it's made for a cutout bass. So it might fit a lefty but I'm not sure. Good luck. |
Question: | Before purchase, can i verify this is the right case for the dean eabc5 cutaway 5 string acoustic bass |
Answer: | Don't know about 5 string .. mine is a 4 string .. fits the case good |
Question: | I have a Dean quilted ash accoustic bass. Will this case fit it |
Answer: | According to the Dean website the Quilted Ash would take the DHS EQAB (I think that translates to: Dean Hard Shell, Exotic Quilted Ash Bass). It's possible it will fit with another case; but for the sake of a few dollars, I wonder if it's not better to go with what they say. Joe |
Question: | Can someone verify the length of this case. The Amazon listing says 44", but my Dean EAB is 51" long |
Answer: | the outside dimension of this case is 53 inches and yes the inside dimension of the case is 51. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it fit will in Yamaha c |
Answer: | The PW soundhole cover part that fits in the guitar sound hole is 4 inch diameter and the cutout for the fret board is 2-3/8 inch. Short answer ... I do not know if this soundhole cover fits a Yamaha c40. |
Question: | is this supposed to mute the sound |
Answer: | It cuts down on the feedback when you are playing through an amp. I would not use it otherwise. To answer your question it does not mute the sound a whole lot. |
Question: | Does it fit a Baby Taylor bt |
Answer: | It fits my Taylor 110 firm. If the sound hole is the same circumference of the 110ce then yes. If not no. |
Question: | Would this make the guitar a lot quieter for practicing? Or is it just for preventing feedback when amplified |
Answer: | I've used this product on many different guitars over the last 25 or so years...yes, it slightly quiets the guitar, but only by maybe 20-25% at most. Just keep in mind, that isn't what this product is initially designed for, but does help some |

The Dean EAB Electric Acoustic Bass is the perfect starter bass guitar for the beginning bass player. Now you can play bass with or without an amp! This is a comfortable bass that's loud enough for jam sessions with acoustic guitar players, and has the on-board electronics to let you take it right up on stage. For home recording, an acoustic bass is absolutely perfect because you get an incredible sound and you don't have to spend time finding the sweet spot miking up a speaker cabinet. Features include a select spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a passive piezo pickup system. Dean is really doin' it right with the Electric Acoustic Bass.
From the Manufacturer
Here's a versatile acoustic-electric bass from Dean. It's perfect for a beginner looking to enjoy some acoustic, living-room jams, but still features a Dean preamp for plugging into your favorite bass amp or recording gear. The EAB features a spruce top, mahogany body, rosewood bridge and fretboard, pearl dot inlays, and legendary Dean construction and playability, at an affordable price.
Mahogany Body With Spruce Top
The Mahogany/Spruce combo is a pretty common choice in acoustic tonewoods, whether for basses or guitars. Mahogany boasts a wide dynamic range, perfect for ampifying your nuance and still sounding good when you lay into it.
The spruce accentuates the bass and treble end of things. It also just looks great, with the deep brown mahogany contrasting the satin-finish spruce.
34-Inch Mahogany Neck
The EAB features a mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, and classic pearl dot inlays. It boasts a rosewood bridge to match, with a contemporary "sliver" shape that's all Dean.
Celluloid Binding and Rosette
Speaking of looks, the EAB has plenty, enhanced by the celluloid rosette and body binding.
Dean Tuners
Dean diecast tuners complete the hardware ensemble, ensuring you stay in tune even when you're plugged in and rocking out.
Dean Passive Preamp
The EAB sounds great on its own, but sometimes you want to turn things up a bit (or plug into an audio interface for recording, perhaps).
The onboard Dean preamp offers basic volume and tone controls to dial in just the sound you need.
- 34-inch mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard and pearl dot inlays
- Dean passive preamp with volume and treble controls
- Celluloid rosette and body binding
- Diecast Dean tuners
- Mahogany body with Spruce top
User questions & answers
Question: | For live application, does it require an active or a passive direct box? (di box |
Answer: | There is no internal power source. It has a volume and a single tone control on the top side of the body.. I've plugged it into a bass amp and into a mic input of a house sound system. Was able to get the deep acoustic sound I was after. |
Question: | acoustically, how loud is this bass |
Answer: | About the same volume as any acoustic guitar. One must remember that the extra thickness of the strings and the "bassness" of them causes them to be less piercing than treble strings. This is an ideal bass for dormitory or apartment dwellers. Amplified it has a richer tone than solid body electric basses. |
Question: | is the top solid spruce or plywood |
Answer: | I believe it to be spruce. It definitely isn't plywood. |
Question: | Is this an adequate bass for a beginner? How close to an upright does it sound when plugged in |
Answer: | I was a pro bassist for 22 years and bought this inexpensive bass for banging around as my other basses are way too nice for that. Being the type of bass this is I recommend taking off the factory strings and throwing them away. If you want an upright type sound use flatwound strings like D'Addario Chrome flats or their black nylon wound strings. You have to play very hard to get more volume but this bass should never have roundwounds on it. For the money, this is an OK bass and the tone is warm and round with the right strings on it. |

Answer: | Paul, The guitar measurements are: lower bout-14 5/16", upper bout-10 1/16", thickness is 3 11/16" at it's widest and it's overall length is 36". Also, the guitar is listed as full scale but it measures just under 23". |
