Answer:	AMI Rowe went with a slightly different stylus ( needle ) beginning with the R 84. It was a dark blue to track at 4 grams. If your machine has the original cartridge in it I would say Yes, the replacement N44 C will work just fine. Optimum performance is the tracking weight to be 4 grams. The needle being shown here is not a Shure product as the name Shure does not appear on it.

But if the 93E's have force variability (1.5 or 3) it would nice if the 91ED and 93E were just listed separately, or different replacement brands/forces could be requested. I do for example see a Durpower needle for the 91ED listed at 3-5 grams that I would not want. I am comfortable with Pfanstiehl, but don't know EVG and/or if other brands might be supplied. Being able to buy a specific brand is a helpful norm.

Answer:	you must place your cartridge needle down on, and in the line on the end. that is the scale your reading without doubling the reading. so you place the needle on the outer line, then when the scale reads up to its maximum scale reading of 1.5, it is then 1.5. now on my cartridge its supposed to be set to 1.8 grams, so i have to place my needle down on and in the inner most line and double the scale reading which then becomes a maximum reading of 3 grams. you must observe the level in the mirror reflection, when the two plastic sides are even. then your needle is set correctly to the desired weight. i hope this helps.

Answer:	I would not buy this N95ED Shure stylus until you identify if it will fit in your present cartridge. When I read the Marantz 6100 Instruction Manual there was no OEM cartridge supplied (according to the manual). So, you will need to know what cartridge you have on the turntable. Or, buy a new cartridge (a stylus will already be included if you purchase new cartridge). For further information about your turntable setup and instructions, suggest downloading the manual from Vinyl Engine website at: https://www.vinylengine.com/library/marantz/6100.shtml. This seems like a decent turntable, so I would suggest being sure of using a decent cartridge/stylus combination such as the Ortofon Red cartridge unless you can identify your present cartridge as similar or better quality than the Ortofon. Good Luck, but don't just buy a stylus without making sure it will work in whichever cartridge you already have.

Answer:	Depending upon how the grooves of each individual record are worn by previous playing, sometimes there is less distortion/noise in one channel than in the other. 78 RPM freaks will take advantage of this during playback, but wiring the cartridge with the two channels parallel in mono configuration is the more practical way to go for all but the pickiest listeners.

Answer:	Mike - I ended up buying an additional AT headshell that holds the Shure M78S cartridge for my 78's. That way I can swap out the headshell/cartridge that came with the turntable (I too have a AT-LP120) for 33's. With both cartridges having their own headshell, its a breeze to switch them out.

Answer:	It comes with a 2.5 mil needle (stylus) suitable for playing 78 RPM records. The original 78 RPM styli were mostly 2.7 to 3 mil so this will set a little deeper in the groove on a lot of records, hopefully where less wear has occurred. An even slightly smaller diameter might be better but largely unavailable. It is not suitable for 33s or 45s.
