13 best delay pedal stereos

Delay pedal stereos are audio effects devices commonly used in the realm of electric guitars and musical instrument effects processing. These pedals fall under the category of single effects, specifically within the domain of guitar effects and amplifiers effects. Here's what you should know about delay pedal stereos:

  1. Purpose: Delay pedal stereos are designed to create echo and delay effects for musical instruments, primarily electric guitars. They are used to produce a delayed version of the original audio signal, creating a sense of spaciousness and depth in the sound.

  2. Stereo Sound: What sets delay pedal stereos apart from standard delay pedals is their ability to produce a stereo output. This means that the delayed signal can be heard through two separate channels or speakers, enhancing the spatial and immersive qualities of the effect.

  3. Delay Types: These pedals often offer various delay types, such as analog, digital, tape emulation, and more. Each type imparts a distinct character to the delayed sound, allowing musicians to achieve different sonic textures.

  4. Controls: Delay pedal stereos typically feature a range of controls that allow musicians to adjust parameters like delay time, feedback (number of repeats), and mix (the balance between the dry and delayed signals). Some models may also include additional controls for modulation and filtering.

  5. Tap Tempo: Many delay pedal stereos come equipped with a tap tempo function. This feature enables musicians to synchronize the delay time with the tempo of the music by tapping a footswitch, ensuring rhythmic precision.

  6. Presets: Some advanced delay pedal stereos offer preset storage capabilities, allowing users to save and recall their favorite delay settings for different songs or performances.

  7. Looping: Some delay pedal stereos incorporate looping functionality, enabling musicians to layer multiple loops of audio and create complex soundscapes.

  8. Usage: Musicians often use delay pedal stereos to add depth and texture to their guitar solos, create ambient soundscapes, or simulate the sound of playing in a large space, such as a concert hall.

  9. Integration: These pedals can be integrated into a guitarist's pedalboard setup, allowing for easy switching between different effects and fine-tuning the delay effect to complement the music being played.

  10. Compatibility: Delay pedal stereos are compatible with a wide range of musical instruments, including electric guitars, bass guitars, synthesizers, and more. They are a versatile tool for enhancing the overall sound of a performance.

Overall, delay pedal stereos are essential tools for guitarists and musicians looking to add depth, dimension, and creative sonic possibilities to their music. Their ability to produce stereo delay effects makes them particularly useful for creating immersive soundscapes and enhancing the overall musical experience.

User questions & answers

Question: Most of the demos I have seen have this running in stereo. If I just plan to place this in front of a single amp, is it still convincing
Answer: Unfortunately no. The cradle measures 1 1/2 inch wide. The CC04K should work great for you though.
Question: I got and old unit with only 40 effects... return and will order again ! Does the new one has blue color
Answer: It will hold Soprano thru Tenor for sure. Have not tried anything larger than than.Works well for Mandolin also.Width at most narrow part is 1-1/2"
Question: I love this pedal, but the tap tempo for delay doesn't work. I've set it to tap tempo in the settings but it doesn't work. Any help
Answer: If you are asking if it will fit a 1” (one inch) diameter stand the answer is yes. Probably better than it does on my 3/8” diameter stand.
Question: How does it differ from the MS-G
Answer: Call us on the String Swing Customer Service line 1(888) 455- 6628 and we will be able to help you with that. For ukuleles over the 1 & 1/2 inch neck width limit for these cradles we recommend the guitar cradle.

User questions & answers

Question: What length of time will the looper record
Answer: This attaches to a music stand. The music stand must be ordered separately.
Question: Is there anything need to be attention when using the adaptor or battery
Answer: I'm not sure, but I'm guessing not. The prongs that stick out that you put the bridge between are only about 1.25-1.5" apart. If that works for your instrument, you might also need to make sure that the stand it is attached to is sturdy enough. We have ours on a cheap collapsible stand for a small violin, but not sure it would handle much more weight than that without tipping the stand over.
Question: can I purchase the cable from your store
Answer: I've only tried it with my daughter's and mine. It seems to work with anything from a 1/8 size violin to a 15" viola. I haven't tried larger than that. Make sure that your stand itself can handle the heavier weight of a larger viola without sliding downward or changing tilt though.
Question: Do you have more videos about the prodict
Answer: Your stand needs to be heavy enough to counteract the the weight of the instrument hanging in the hanger once it is clamped on to the stand so it depends on the weight and size of your instrument. Folding stands are not typically very stable for this sort of thing but maybe you have a heavy duty folding stand?

User questions & answers

Question: Can this be used with a electric violin
Answer: Depends on your guitar and settings but the box itself doesn’t add any noise. If you use batteries instead of plugging in you can get rid is some noise from dirty AC power.
Question: Just to confirm, is this a multi effects pedal
Answer: Press the Play/Stop button to turn the drum machine on and off. Turning the Value/Drums knob scrolls thru the different beats. Adjust the tempo with the tap tempo button. Hope this helps.
Question: Does it have spring reverb
Answer: No you don’t. This pedal acts as many pedals in one. You can even hang it on yourself lol... Just plug your cord from the guitar into the item and another cord from the item into the amplifier if you’re using one. If you don’t want to be heard, you can plug headphones into it and hear yourself play! It's super great for late night practice!

Product features

Walrus Audio MAKO Series D1

The first in the Mako series, the D1 is a powerful multi-function delay with five, studio-grade, high-fidelity, custom tuned programs. The programs are Digital, Mod, Vintage, Dual and Reverse. Each can be tuned and tweaked with modulation, tone, age, and subdivisions. The attack knob adds another dynamic to each program, opening up a new world for creating soundscapes. The D1 boasts stereo in and out, MIDI control and on-board presets. A workhorse of a delay that is just as ready for the road as it is the studio.

MIDI Capabilities

The D1 is able to be controlled via standard MIDI messages. Simply connect your MIDI controller to the D1 MIDI “IN”. Downstream MIDI devices can be connected to the MIDI “OUT” which serves as a MIDI passthrough. The D1 is not able to control other devices via MIDI. The D1 ships with the MIDI channel set to 1 by default.

Time

The Time knob allows adjustment of the delay time from approximately 60ms at minimum to 2000ms at maximum and overrides any tap or MIDI tempo for manual time control.

Repeats

The Repeats knob controls the amount of feedback within each delay program. At minimum, only one repeat is allowed. At maximum, there will be a near infinite number of repeats – on the verge of self-oscillation.

Mix

The Mix knob sets the ratio of dry to repeated signal. At minimum, no repeats are heard. Unity gain can be found between 12 and 2 o’clock. And at maximum, only repeats will be heard. As you dial in different sounds using the Tweak and Attack controls, you will find the Mix knob helpful for maintaining a healthy delay level. Simply turn the knob to dial in the desired level of the repeated signal.

Tweak

The Tweak knob offers creative control over three different parameters that allow you to shape each delay program to taste. Simply move the toggle to select the effect you want to control, then use the Tweak knob to dial in the right amount of modulation, filtering, or “age” for the delay.

Attack

The Attack knob offers dedicated control over a volume envelope applied to the audio being fed into the delay line. This will soften the attack of the echoes if desired. The higher the Attack setting, the longer it takes the signal feeding the delay line to fade up in volume. It can allow for higher mix levels while keeping the attack of the delay out of the way of the dry signal. With high Repeats and Attack settings, you can achieve dreamy soundscapes and ethereal sounds. For more traditional delay sounds, set the attack to lower settings.

Tweak Switch

Mod: Set the switch to the Mod position and use the Tweak knob to adjust the desired amount of modulation applied to the repeats.

Tone: Set the switch to the Tone position and use the Tweak knob to adjust the tonal characteristic of the delay.

Age: Set the switch to the Age position and use the Tweak knob to adjust the desired amount of grit through the delay. The idea for the “age” effect is to simulate the signal passing through bucket brigade ICs or other analog circuits and in turn, losing fidelity. This is a desired sound that has charmed guitar players for decades.

A | B | C Bank Switch

The D1 offers three banks for storing presets. Each bank holds three presets for a total of nine that the user can access without using MIDI. The Bank switch selects which bank of presets the pedal will access. Bank A is presets 0-2, Bank B is 3-5, and Bank C is 6-8. The presets in each bank correspond to the Red, Green, and Blue LED, so the first preset in each bank is Red, the second is Green and the third is Blue.

Division Switch

The Division switch lets you select quarter (1/4), eighth (1/8), or dotted eighth (.1/8) delay multiplier when tapping a tempo or when the tempo is set via MIDI clock.

Bypass and Tap Switches

Bypass Switch - Used to turn the pedal on and off. Click to turn the pedal on and click again to turn the pedal off.

Bypass LED - Indicates if the pedal is on or off by illuminating solid when on, and off when the pedal is off.

Tap Switch - Used to tap the desired 1/4 note delay time. The Mako D1 offers highly accurate tap tempo as it uses a custom rolling average tap program. Tap the switch with the tempo of the song to lock in the delay time.

Rate LED - The Rate LED flashes the color of the selected preset and indicates delay time in quarter notes. The Rate LED will flash purple when a preset has been modified.

Feedback Ramp - Press and hold the bypass switch to ramp up the repeats of the delay. Release to set the feedback back to the knob location.

Program Knob

Digital - Offers a clean and crystal-clear delay that is perfect for rhythmic guitar parts where ultra-defined echoes are desired.

Mod - Has unique modulation LFOs applied to the repeats that are random and run at multiple rates to create unpredictable pitch modulation. This results in very unique sounding repeats perfect for warping minds and scattering trains of thought.

Vintage – Allows for analog delay inspired tones to be achieved with complex filtering applied to the repeats. Use the tone knob at low settings for darker filtering and at higher settings to roll off low end.

Dual - Employs two delays in parallel, each with different time divisions. When connected in mono, the two delays are added together. When connected in stereo, one set of repeats is sent to the left output and one set is sent to the right.

Reverse - Reads the delay memory backwards creating a unique delay repeat character known as reverse delay.

User questions & answers

Question: Odd question. are you located in the us? i’ve been ordering stuff and finding out it’s coming from out of the country. hence the “delay” in shipping
Answer: If you tap a tempo in, then switch it off without saving the patch, it will likely forget the tempo. Try saving your setting.
Question: Will this fit a dod tech 8 guitar peddel
Answer: The tap tempo cannot be stored for recall after powering down. But it will default to start at whatever length of delay is set by the knob when you power on.
Question: Will this work on a mosky looper
Answer: My pedal does not do that when I turn it on. The guitar sound is constant when I turn it on or off. If this is happening with your pedal, you should return it.
Question: Is each channel really 300mA? My 300mA digital pedals freeze after a few minutes of use
Answer: I use it on my pedal board with an octave pedal sometimes and it seems to do fine, but that’s obviously different than a true bass signal. I suggest spending a little extra money on a bass delay. Unless you just got that gear itch, then I’d just pull the trigger on this bad boy!

User questions & answers

Question: Will this automatically convert mono in to stereo out
Answer: Absolutely! This is one of the best single-pedal solutions available!
Question: What USB cable does it use
Answer: no, upgrade the firmware and have access to all the effects. choices limited by space but can be changed anytime via usb
Question: Does this pedal have midi via USB
Answer: To engage the tap tempo, you have to do two things. One, make sure you hold down the pedal (just like you did to engage the tuner). Two (and this is something I only know from having owned like eight Zoom products with the ZFX chip and isn't really explained in the manual), you have to set the delay time to the maximum setting, and then keep turning it past that. That gives you the tap tempo options (eighth note, dotted quarter, etc.)
Question: Does this come with power cable and USB cable
Answer: The main difference is the stereo input. Keyboard players prefer the 70 because it's a true stereo effect, and guitar players prefer the 50 because it has more overdrive, distortion, and fuzz effects. The firmware is the same, and there's actually a way to load all the effects from the 50 onto the 70, and vice versa. Some of the 70CDR effects are true stereo, and some mix the input to mono and then output a stereo blend. There *might* be slightly more processing power in the 70cdr, because it tends to behave better with multiple modulation effects in the same chain. There are a lot of pedalboards out there with both, because the drive effects of a 60 are really great at the start of a signal path, and the modulation effects of a 70cdr are really great in a post-gain/effects loop position. Zoom Multistomp is kind of a cult and I'm definitely in it :-)

User questions & answers

Question: Does this come with the wall plug
Answer: II have not been able to do but its either one or the other. I use a bike pedal to turn off an on my mind playing the guitar. When I am doing a gig and I know the upcoming songs I will switch if I want to use it on my voice it's a quick plug switch back and forth.I believe it would take two of these units to do both at the same time but I could be wrong there might be something out there to be able to switch back and forth. Either way its real nice effects for both ways guitar and looping is awesome.

We are using a high powered proprietary DSP platform to recreate all the characteristics of all our favorite delay and reverb machines while still retaining a simple, yet flexible workspace.

Time and Repeats

Time: This controls the delay time and goes from 0ms to just under 2000ms.

Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delay, from zero repeats to near infinite.

Tone and Mix

Tone: Controls the tone for the delay line only. Roll off highs to the left, roll off lows to the right and get a flat response in the middle.

Mix: The is the volume control for the delay line. This blends in the wet with dry until 1 o’clock, 1 o’clock to 3 o’clock boosts the wet signal over the dry and 3 o’clock up brings down dry until it is fully wet when all the way up.

Expression Jack Assign Switch and Decay

Expression Jack Assign Switch: Use this switch to map the expression jack to one of the assigned controls.

Decay: Controls the decay length of the reverb, short decay counterclockwise, long cavernous decay clockwise.

Ratio Selector Switch and Mix

Mix: This is the volume control for the reverb. Blends in the wet with dry until 1 O’clock, 1 O’clock to 3 O’clock boosts the wet signal over the dry and 3 O’clock up brings down dry until it is fully wet when all the way up.

Ratio Selector Switch: Selects delay subdivisions when time is set by the 'Tap' switch.

About Earthquaker Devices

Do you like effects pedals? We do! Here at EarthQuaker Devices, we like pedals so much that we make them one-at-a-time, by hand, the hard way, in the idyllic post-apocalyptic wasteland metropolis of Akron, Ohio, USA - where the soldering smoke blocks out the sun, and the fiery Cuyahoga River pumps white-hot liquid magma into the steam engine that powers our great riff factory in the sky.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this pedal have a kill dry function? Can it go 100% wet
Answer: They warp, it’s a true analog delay.
Question: Will the F22 work with a synth
Answer: Yes you can. It will do subdivisions. There is also a dual echo mode where you can do two delays with different subdivisions.
Question: Is the power supply included
Answer: DC 9V is ok for the pedal.
Question: Where is this made
Answer: yes and no. you can use the looper with the delays but you have to put the little button. My issue with this pedal was the button interface for loops. It was really difficult to erase a loop. Three steps to do it. and if you messed up a loop there is no way to cancel your loop. you have to stop it. then erase it and it just starts immediately after you make it.

Source Audio Collider Stereo Delay Effects Pedal with 7 Reverb Types, 5 Delay Types, Tap Tempo, and Universal Bypass Switching with Gravity Magnet Phone Holder Bundle

Based on 1 reviews Check latest price

Product description

What do you get when you combine a dense delay and radioactive reverb? To find out, the mad scientists at Source Audio took the Nemesis Delay and Ventris Reverb and smashed them together at high speed. When they had finished their experiments, the One Series Collider Delay + Reverb emerged from the rubble carrying the best features from each pedal. This pedal has seven reverb types and five delay engines crammed into one housing with intuitive controls. It’s loaded with dual 56-bit DSP processors that give you enough experimental potential to run both effects simultaneously. The Collider Stereo Delay + Reverb from Source Audio will unleash unique tones that are perfect for the guitarist that’s always experimenting. Do you like having options? So do the pedal fanatics at ADW. The Collider is equipped with the five most popular delay engines from the Source Audio Nemesis delay pedal. It offers effects in two categories: Classic and Modern. In the Classic category, you can experiment with tape, analog, and oil can delays. For the Modern side of things, you have access to reverse and digital delay options. The control knobs allow you to tweak the tone, tape age, and modulation depth and rate. Flip the selector switch to reverb, and you’ll immediately have access to seven reverbs taken from the Source Audio Ventris dual reverb pedal. Like delay engines, these are organized into Classic and Unnatural categories. On the Classic side, you can select from spring and plate reverbs, natural room, and an ’80s hall reverb. If you’re ready to get weird, the Unnatural category includes a massive E-dome, pitch-shifting shimmer, and momentous swell function. Both the delay and reverb engines have dedicated ON/OFF footswitches while the delay switch provides tap tempo functionality.

  • Dual 56-bit DSP processors deliver two studio-grade effects at once
  • Complete MIDI functionality allows the Collider to be controlled with external MIDI messages
  • Store up to 8 user presets onboard and 120 presets via MIDI program change
  • Stereo In/Out can be used for Mono, Stereo, and Dual Mono
  • Universal bypass allows for buffered or relay-based true bypass options
