User questions & answers

Question: Is this coast gaurd certified
Answer: No such thing as coast guard certified blowers. All Attwood blowers meet coast guard standards. Good air movement but loudest blower I've ever owned.
Question: Does this fit directly with 3" PVC couplers/fittings
Answer: Can't say that it does, but it does fit with the flexible vent hose that was in my boat.
Question: What is the amp draw? I think it's probably a 12 V DC, but is it 2 amps? 2.9 amps? higher
Answer: according to Attwood it 2.6 amps at 12 volts and 3.1 amps at 13.6 volts. If you don't know typically a battery is about 12 .4 volts at rest and is about 13.6 volts when engine is running. The alternator on a engine is normally set to give 13.6 volts max to battery. so to answer your question I would say 2.8 amps
Question: How loud is it
Answer: I have been boating for 40 years and to me it is no louder than any other blower. You can definitely hear it. I have one for a engine blower and one for a head blower and I can hear them running. I certainly would not want to be real close to one but than again they do there job well. The other thing that controls sound is the voltage. at 12 volts they are quieter than at 13.8 volts. so just running on battery with the battery charger off they are less loud. Since they are tunnel blowers you do get the turbo effect noise. to me it is lower than the old squirrel cage design. For engine and head no problem. Sound level to me about the noise of a kitchen exhaust fan.
