Answer:	The side arms are made of metal with plastic arm rest but there is nothing supporting the arms other than where they are attached to the chair back. I don't know how well they would do it you put too much press on them when you get up. Also, we are still waiting on the company to decide what they are going to do. The chair has not worked since we got it 10 days ago. It looks like it is charging but after you disconnect the adapter it will not turn on. They had me send them pictures of the controller and they are trying to decide what it will take to get it to work. I think that once it starts working that it will ideal for my 95 year old mother but just waiting.

Answer:	The size of the seat! This chair is great, we also have a 16 x 18 which is sometimes difficult to navigate between entryways. The 16 x 16 wheelchair was my main one while recovering from ankle surgery. The larger one was used to navigate upstairs.

Answer:	The seat itself measures 24" wide. The space between the front bars for the arm rests is 24 1/2" wide on my chair, but there may have been some wear & tear on it since I bought the chair last spring (it may need to be tightened). The seat back is 24" wide also. Overall width of the entire wheelchair is about 32" and just fits through a standard ADA accessible (Read: wide/doctors office or hotel style) doorway. By the way, the rule of thumb when fitting a wheelchair is you don't want your upper leg pressed against the sides at all firmly, you want room or be just barely touching the side. Overall - I'm very satisfied with this HD wheelchair, it's measurements were accurate, and it was a great price.

Answer:	The model I looked at, EXP19LTRD , on the website says it has a 300 lb capacity. I would imagine that the heavier a person is the more difficult it would be to push the person around. My dad is around 190 and I don't have a problem.

Answer:	you should buy a car power inverter on amazon. it has only 110VAC charger into the box

Answer:	The chair will not roll back unless you changed it to the free wheeling mode.
Question:	is this airline approved and also can the joystick be taken off when being transported by airline as things get damaged
Answer:	The joystick and batteries come out (lithium so they can't go in cargo) We bring the joystick and the two batteries on the plane with us. Carry the batteries separate so they do not discharge. We have flown with the chair. Bring some bungee cords to hold the chair shut while handling by the airline crew (who can be a bit rough) when you gate check it. I also got some Sunbrella canvas and made a bag to go over the chair and ties at the bottom to protect the chair during handling as well. It has a hole in the top so they can grab the holder and leaves the wheels exposed so they can roll it. Since it can be pushed, we unfold it and push it with my husband into the terminal and then put the batteries in so he can drive it through the airport. It is pretty easy, but practice makes perfect and it is a good idea to practice getting the batteries in and out quickly so you make your connections at the airport.
