14 best sweet ant traps
Sweet ant traps are a type of pest control product designed to attract and eliminate ants that are drawn to sugary substances. These traps are commonly used in homes, gardens, and outdoor spaces to effectively manage ant infestations. Here's what you need to know about sweet ant traps:
Purpose: Sweet ant traps are specifically formulated to target ants that are attracted to sugary foods and liquids. They are an effective way to control and eliminate ant colonies without the use of harmful chemicals.
Design: Sweet ant traps typically consist of a small container filled with a sweet, sugary bait that attracts ants. The bait is usually in the form of a gel or liquid. Some traps come pre-filled with bait, while others allow you to add your bait.
Attractants: The bait used in sweet ant traps is formulated to mimic the scent of natural food sources that ants are drawn to, such as sugar, honey, or syrup. This attracts the ants to the trap.
Active Ingredients: Sweet ant traps may contain active ingredients that are toxic to ants, such as borax or boric acid. These substances are slow-acting, allowing the ants to carry the bait back to their nest before it takes effect.
Placement: Sweet ant traps should be strategically placed in areas where ants are commonly seen. This might include kitchen countertops, pantry shelves, or outdoor areas where ants are foraging.
Use in Gardens: Sweet ant traps can also be used in gardens to manage ant infestations that may harm plants or interfere with outdoor activities. Placing traps near garden beds or ant trails can help control their population.
Safety: Sweet ant traps are generally considered safe to use around humans and pets when used according to the manufacturer's instructions. However, it's essential to place them out of reach of children and pets.
Effectiveness: Sweet ant traps are effective in controlling ant infestations, but it may take some time for the bait to work its way through the ant colony. Patience is necessary as the ants take the bait back to the nest.
Maintenance: Check sweet ant traps regularly to see if they need to be replaced or refilled with bait. Ant activity may vary with the seasons, so adjust your use accordingly.
Environmentally Friendly: Sweet ant traps are often considered a more environmentally friendly pest control option compared to chemical sprays, as they target only the specific pest without affecting other wildlife.
In summary, sweet ant traps are a useful tool for managing ant infestations, especially those caused by sugar-loving ants. They work by attracting ants to a bait that contains slow-acting toxins, which are then carried back to the nest to eliminate the colony. When used correctly and consistently, sweet ant traps can help maintain a pest-free environment both indoors and outdoors.

To kill common household ants, simply place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits stations near indoor areas where ants are spotted. Ants enter the trap, consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass on the bait to the rest of the colony. TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are specifically formulated to allow worker ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony . The liquid ant bait stations prevent the bait from drying out and provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Monitor the baits regularly for activity, but do not interfere with the ants or baits. Replace with additional baits when the first set is depleted. User questions & answers
Question: | Why is the pricing so weird? It's actually 2x more in bulk! Did someone make a mistake? Sorry for the rhetorical question, silly vendor person |
Answer: | It has to do with who the actual "seller" is. If you select a quantity of "1", in this case, it is "sold and fulfilled" by Amazon. If you select a quantity of "2" it is "sold" by another company while still being "fulfilled" by Amazon. Yes, both quantities are, as of this writing, "fulfilled" by Amazon but that just tells you that Amazon stores, packages, and ships both items(1 and 2 packs) even though there are, in reality, two different "sellers". If you click back and forth on the quantity selector you'll see the "sold by" name change. Look just under the price after you switch. The seller of the 2 pack sets the price whereas the seller of the 1 pack(Amazon) sets its own price. I'm sure Amazon buys the 1 pack in very large quantities and, therefore, can get a bigger discount, per piece, than the other "seller" can get, per piece, for the 2-pack. |
Question: | How safe is this product in the kitchen? We have a few ants crawling around our kitchen sink and would like to place one of these bait stations on our kitchen counter. Bad idea? Thanks |
Answer: | This is a generally safe product according to my research. Make sure to read the packaging and follow direction. (FOR INDOOR USE READ THE FOLLOWING) One lesson I learned the hard way: the sugary syrup is irresistible to ants, even though it is laced with poison. This means when you use Tarro, you're actually providing access to free food! The poison will work on the ants and it takes about 18-24 hours to kill them... but as you wait after 24 hours, Tarro syrup will attract other thriving colonies into your home. They'll follow the same rich trails laid behind by the previous colony and even scavenge on the carcases of the previously fallen colony. This cycle will continue, attracting ants from far away reaches and allowing them to setup massive colonies within your home. This is especially true with Argentine ants (available throughout the world), which form massive colonies with multiple queens - a trait unique to this type of ant, whereas others will battle for territory. So the lesson learned is simple... once the initial 1 or 2 swarms die down, remove all baits and all forms of food from open spaces in your home; patch up all openings in walls, baseboards, cracks around windows, etc; apply perimeter pesticide around your home; and look for signs of wandering ants in the next week. If you see more ants then you missed an opening and already have an established colony in your wall.... repeat!! Just don't leave out Tarro and keep replenishing, especially in the case of Argentine ants. |
Question: | Is this safe to have around pets? I have a curious cat |
Answer: | I'd say no. My cat knocked one of these over once and licked the syrup. She was fine but it wasn't a fun afternoon (trip to the vet, etc.). Terro sells a version of this that encloses the bait in plastic and has sticky squares to attach them to the floor, counter, or other surfaces. I use those instead now. |
Question: | I have a baby in the house and I would like to use this product to kill ants in my house. Any precautions you suggest before I use this product |
Answer: | The ant trails at my house sometimes go from the floor to the ceiling. I turn the bait so that the liquid will not run out and use Scotch tape to tape it to the wall next to the ant trail. I tape the bait high enough that babies and grand children cannot get to it. It usually takes two days for the ants to disappear. Then three days after they disappear, they return to the trap. Another two days and they disappear again. The second time they disappear is usually the last time I see them at that location. |

TERRO Liquid Ant Baits
Ants can be a problem anywhere – in the home, at work and everywhere in between. To kill common household ants, place TERRO Liquid Ant Baits in areas where they attract foraging ants that take the bait back to the nest. As the bait circulates through the colony, it kills the ants you see and the ones you don’t. The new and improved snap-off tab makes the stations easy to use. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the tab. This opens up the station and allows ants to access the bait. Place the entire station on a flat surface, keeping the ant bait inside the station. Plus, the closed bait stations prevent the bait from drying out to provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night. Note: complete control may take up to two weeks.
How Liquid Ant Bait Works
Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. Why? As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet, sugary liquid inside the bait stations. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants in the beginning.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, Borax, is slowly interfering with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that foraging ants can make several trips to the bait. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.
How to Use Liquid Ant Baits
TERRO Liquid Ant Baits are very easy to use. Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere. Do not place bait where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the bait stations.
- Hold the bait station firmly with bait pack tab facing up. Break off the tab being careful not to spill the bait.
- Place the bait station label side up on a flat surface near signs of ants. Place additional bait stations anywhere they may enter your home. For best results, use all bait stations to ensure a sufficient supply for the ants.
- Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait stations. Replace when bait is depleted. Complete control may take up to two weeks.
- Once ants are controlled, replace the baits every 3 months to keep them from returning.

User questions & answers
Question: | How do I tell If they are empty? Unlike the indoor traps they are not clear |
Answer: | The trap should be replaced every 3 months. |
Question: | We haver grease eating ants. Is this the right product |
Answer: | Terro says product is for "Attracting and killing all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants." Terro is a sweet bait; grease eating ants are attracted to protein. They might go for Terro; however if protein sources are still to be found in your house they will probably ignore the bait. I haven't had a problem with grease eating ants, but I understand that from folks who have that the Combat formula is better for attracting grease eating ants. You can also make your own baits for grease eaters by mixing boric acid (a white powder you can find in drugs stores or hardware stores) with peanut butter. Just make sure that the bait is out of reach of kids and animals (I have used boric acid/watermelon bait successfully with sweet-eating ants. However, it can only be used indoors, as sun dries it up and rain washes it away.) Good Luck! |
Question: | Will this work on fire ants |
Answer: | Yes absolutely I had the worst ant problem I have ever seen when I moved into my new home. They moved in because of a drought in Texas. The first two days I did not see much of a difference and was about to write a bad review, but I had to go out of town, I left and when I came back the next week there were no more ants, not a single one, in fact it has been almost a year and I still haven't seen one inside or outside since. This stuff is amazing. Also my dog ate 2 of the yard baits we were worried he would get sick but he was perfectly fine that's a plus also. |
Question: | Will these work for carpenter ants |
Answer: | Carpenter ants infest every tree on my property and I found them foraging inside the garage (very bad news). Mostly for the garage, but also because I have one very nice pin oak, I placed 2 of these just inside the garage door and at the base of the tree and within 1 month no more ants. So, I guess it works on carpenter ants. However, if you use the trap per the package instructions the carpenter ants are too large to enter. What you do instead is push down and rotate as instructed to puncture the internal pouch then very carefully lift the cup back up to its original position and snap it into place. This opens the trap all the way around an the carpenter ants can enter. I intend to buy more as it works on almost every ant on my property. And that's a lot of different types of ants. You might also try Bayer Advance 375A. Its a protein based poison and if the ants don't have a sweet tooth that day they go for it. The terro traps make excellent bait stations for the 375A once the liquid is gone. |

Our TERRO Liquid Ant Bait works with all common household ants including: Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants, crazy ants, big headed ants and other sweet eating ants.
How it Works
When it comes to ants, always try to start with baiting. Unlike contact killers, which only target visible worker ants on your property, these baits include slow-acting ingredients that have a delayed effect on the ant's digestive system. This allows ants to feed and return to the colony where they can spread the bait to the young and queen. During this time, the number of ants may increase as they swarm to feed on the sweetened liquid before they begin disappearing altogether.

User questions & answers
Question: | consumers. Don't spend this outrageous price. $7.98 for an 8 pack at Home Depot. Why have the prices gone so high |
Answer: | No one wants to go to the store now, home delivery in 1-2 days is worth the price. But also I have looked and have been unable to find these near me. I was forced to go online to get them. |
Question: | Are these ant stakes waterproof? Will they keep working after it rains |
Answer: | This liquid ant bait is contained in a rugged, weatherproof stake casing, which protects against the elements. The product will keep working after a rain. It is important that the bait be placed in an area that is not prone to flooding. |
Question: | are they refillable |
Answer: | Bought this product in June 2019. Here's the definitive and unequivocal answer: YES, they are indeed refillable. And I will tell you how . . . As of my purchase, the green "housing" can be snapped open to remove or replace the cartridge. Even if the manufacturer eventually seals the green housing, or doesn't offer replacement cartridge inserts, one can still re-use both the green unit AND the interior transparent cartridge- - - thereby saving money and avoiding getting poked in the eye one day by the plastic spike, while you're attempting to enjoy what was once a plastic-free surf at the beach. Step 1: Either snap open the door of the housing to remove the spent cartridge or, alternatively - if you'd rather not chance weakening the latch of the housing and structural integrity of the product leave the cartridge in the housing. Step 2: Use a pipette or syringe or squirt gun or slender turkey baster or even just a thin stream of water from your faucet to fill the cartridge through the little "ant-hole" or entryway. Step 3: Shake the unit to better loosen and dissolve spent contents. Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until you can either see the cartridge is clear and clean, or than nothing is being ejected from the tiny ant-hole anymore as you shake/fling the rinse-water out. Step 5: Shake dry. Don't fret about the interior needing to be "bone-dry" before refilling with Terro's killer liquid. For starters, Terro's killer liquid contains water they don't call it the 'universal solvent' for nothing. Secondly, the cartridge has only one aperture/hole - so there isn't a lot of air flow and waiting for water to air dry in the stuffy/highly humid cartridge risks mold contamination {which ants will detect and steer clear of}. Yes - - - boric acid is also a mold inhibitor - - - but you're spending money to kill ants. Step 6: TIME for the REFILL yay!!: Go buy the Terro T200 2 oz. product. Or larger if you can find it. These bottles contain the same "syrup of death" that came with these Green-spiked traps. Also, the refill bottles have a tiny hole - smaller than the "ant-hole" on the actual cartridge - - - so refilling can be done directly from the T200 bottle. Simply squirt or drip-fill that cartridge. And don't worry if you overfill and some runs down the side: ants will still eat and die, and follow that syrupy trail of death to the mother load awaiting them in your newly-refilled cartridge. You just saved some money. And kept at least one piece of plastic out of the ocean. Win-win. |
Question: | Is there a guide for how many stakes would be needed? We have a 30'x12' stone patio that they are creating havoc with |
Answer: | I put them approx 8 to 10 feet apart around the perimeter of my entire house. After 1 to 2 days never saw another ant. There could posibly be instructions as to placement but I apparently did not bother to even look. Good Question. I will look on package next time if or when I need them again. |

Long-term control of pesky sweet-eating ants is a piece of cake with TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes. To use, simply place the pre-filled ant bait stakes into the ground near areas where ants have been observed. Then sit back and relax. Your work is complete.
How Liquid Ant Bait Works
When the stakes are first placed in the ground, initially you will see more ants because this is a bait product. But don't worry - this is a good thing! Why? The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread to hundreds, if not thousands, of individual ants.
How to Use
TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stakes come pre-filled and ready-to-use. Simply place the stakes in outdoor areas where you see traces of ants. Apply the stakes near the perimeter of your home, especially near entrances where you think they may be getting inside. To use, break off the activation tab and place in the ground. No tools are needed to push the stake in, just your hand.
In addition, the see-through window enables you to monitor the bait level so you know when it’s time to be replaced. When bait is empty, dispose stakes in the garbage. For your convenience, the stakes are weatherproof, offering protection in any condition. The more bait placements, the better.

With TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits, you have the flexibility to place bait stations almost anywhere around your property. The answer lies in the convenient multi-surface application, which allows you to lay the bait stations flat or adhere them to other surfaces. Just use the included adhesive strips to attach the pre-filled, ready-to-use bait stations on walls, under cabinets and a variety of other locations. Not only will this allow you to get the baits as close to the ant activity as possible, but it will also help to keep the stations out of reach of children and pets. In addition, TERRO Multi-Surface Liquid Ant Baits feature a discreet, two-color design, which seamlessly blends in with the rest of your decor so you won’t even notice it’s there. Simply choose the color that matches the location best – either white or beige – then apply the adhesive strip to the opposite side. Liquid ant baits are specifically designed to kill all common household ants. However, since it’s a bait, they work slowly to allow worker ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the colony. The active ingredient slowly interferes with the ant’s digestive system, and eventually kills it. This ensures that you get rid of the ants you see as well as the ants you don’t see.
- Attracts and kills the household ants you see and the ants you don’t
- 4 Discreet Bait Stations, two color design blends in with your decor
- Adhesive strips attach ant baits to walls or under cabinets
- Worker ants carry and deliver a lethal dose to the rest of the colony
- Stay fresh twist tab keeps liquid bait fresh until opened
User questions & answers
Question: | I've been using it for a few weeks now, and it's full of ants (not sure if dead), but the steady stream of ants marching by continues. How long |
Answer: | Each ant that consumes the bait will die within 24-48 hours, however, it can take a few days or weeks to control the entire colony, depending on its size. If Ants are continuing to come to the bait, we recommend to keep the stations down. You may also want to consider using a contact killer such as our spray, granules, or dust around the perimeter of the home. |
Question: | Do this product kill carpenter ants |
Answer: | We cannot recommend this product for carpenter ants. |
Question: | Does the adhesive back remove easily? My cabinets and baseboards are new and don't want to damage |
Answer: | i know from experience that placing on painted surfaces are fine (no damage) i never tried it on cabinets. |
Question: | Should you use all four baits at once or is one okay if that seems to be all that's needed |
Answer: | The most effective use of the bait containers is to place them where ant activity is the heaviest. If it’s confined to one area, one container...maybe two...should suffice. |

Product description
TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits are ideal for large ant infestations. It attracts and kills all common household ants including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants. To attract and kill ants, simply place the pre-filled, ready-to-use liquid bait stations outdoors in areas where ants are observed and, if desired, secure baits with the stakes provided. The bait stations can also be placed on decks, or in garages or basements without using the stakes. Ants typically follow defined trails from the nest to food or water. Placing the outdoor ant baits close to these trails will improve control. The patented outdoor ant baits prevent the liquid bait from drying out, providing the ants with a continuous supply of food, day and night.
- Kills the ants you see and the ants you don’t
- Pre filled bait stations are ready to use
- Contains borax
- Flexible placement: in the ground using the stakes or on decks, or in garages or basements without using the stakes
- Patented station protects the bait from the elements, prevents it from drying out
User questions & answers

TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Baits
When it comes to ants, baiting should be your first choice. Try TERRO Outdoor Liquid Ant Bait Stations. These large bait cups can actually be used inside or outside and work to eras the entire ant colony. Sweet eating, common household ants will run to the baits and carry the bait back to the Queen of the colony. Once the Queen has received the bait, the rest of the colony dies off.
Simple to Use
These pre-filled ready-to-use bait stations convenient and easy to install around your home or yard where ants have been observed. Stakes are included to secure the stations on various surfaces, including grass or gravel. Use without the stakes indoors in the home, basement, or garage as well!
What Type of Ants?
Luckily, most ants are sweet eating and love out bait.
- 9 Bait Trays Per Pack - Spread bait trays over a large area for maximum effectiveness. Ants will seek out the sweet liquid bait and bring it back to the colony
- Kills All Common Household Ants - Harris ant bait is intended for sweet eating ants, or sugar ants. These include Acrobat ants, Argentine ants, Little black ants, Pavement ants, and many others
- Contains Borax - Borax, a naturally occurring mineral powder ant poison, is the active ingredient and a trusted ant killer
- EPA Registered - Registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA No. 64405-23-3) for indoor use
- Kills the Queen and the Colony - Because borax works slowly to kill, it allows the worker ant time to get back to the colony to share the bait with other ants
User questions & answers
Question: | Ants are swarming the tray and behaving very erratically (like on speed) is this normal |
Answer: | No one wants to go to the store now, home delivery in 1-2 days is worth the price. But also I have looked and have been unable to find these near me. I was forced to go online to get them. |
Question: | Do you rinse out the trays to reuse them |
Answer: | This liquid ant bait is contained in a rugged, weatherproof stake casing, which protects against the elements. The product will keep working after a rain. It is important that the bait be placed in an area that is not prone to flooding. |
Question: | Does this work on red fire ants? The tiny ones |
Win-win. |
Question: | how long before ants stop coming |
Answer: | I put them approx 8 to 10 feet apart around the perimeter of my entire house. After 1 to 2 days never saw another ant. There could posibly be instructions as to placement but I apparently did not bother to even look. Good Question. I will look on package next time if or when I need them again. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How often do we have to replace the traps outside |
Answer: | Honestly, this was a waste of time and money. I set the traps and they did absolutely nothing for my ant problem. Either buy a different trap or a bug spray. |
Question: | How long does it take to kill the ants |
Answer: | In my experience it doesn’t kill ants at all. |
Question: | I literally got an empty container. Did anyone else have this |
Answer: | I have ordered twice. No empty container, but the grandules are small on the bottom. You just punch the 4 holes in the sides and put and watch the ants die. |
Question: | Once opened, how long do they last/are they effective for |
Answer: | i received them in the afternoon and spread them around my kitchen as soon as I got them. By the next morning (when they were usually the most active) they were almost all gone. Maybe 2 or 3 instead of an army. By the following day they were gone. I decided to leave them in place for awhile since they are out of sight. It did the job in a day, after that, what does it matter? |

Hot Shot(R) MaxAttrax(R) Ant Bait2
Product description
Attract and kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see with TERRO Liquid Ant Killer. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them. Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks. The 2 oz bottle offers plenty of ant-killing power to eliminate your infestation. For your convenience, TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is easy to use. Simply apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the cardboard tiles included on the packaging. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant killer undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.

TERRO ant killer
TERRO Liquid Ant Killer uses borax to kill the ants you see, as well as the ants you don’t see. It works by allowing the forager ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the sweet liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony. Over time, the bait kills the original ant and any ants that also consume it. Complete control may take two weeks.
To use this ant killing liquid, simply apply the product directly from the bottle onto the provided cardboard squares and place near indoor areas where ants are passing. Place TERRO Liquid Ant Killer near ant trails and other locations where they are numerous. Apply the baited cardboard tiles on the edges of sinks, tubs, windowsills, under food cabinets, along floors and baseboards and in corners.
How to Use TERRO Liquid Ant Killer
TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is very easy to use. Before placing the ant killer, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting them elsewhere. Do not place where you’ve already sprayed insecticides, as the pests may avoid the ant killer.
1. Tear the "Place TERRO Here" cardboard tiles from the packaging along the perforated lines. Then, apply drops of the liquid ant killer directly from the bottle onto the smooth side of the tile until they form a small puddle. You may also substitute with small pieces of paper, cardboard or foil.
2. Place the ant killer tiles on a flat surface near signs of target pests. Place additional tiles anywhere they may enter your home. The more bait placements, the better.
3. Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait while they are actively feeding on it. Add more liquid if it goes dry or add more tiles to ensure there's always a fresh supply for the ants.
How Ant Bait Works
TERRO ant bait works by attracting a large number of ants right away – but don’t worry, this is a good thing. As ants forage for food, they are easily attracted to the sweet liquid. After finding the bait, worker ants consume it and leave behind a pheromone trail leading back to the colony. This trail lets other worker ants know where the newly discovered food supply is. This is why you will see more ants at first, followed by a sharp drop off as the bait takes effect.
Meanwhile, the active ingredient, borax, is slowly interfering with each ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing them, but leaving enough time for the ants to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony. This slow kill is necessary so that ants can make several trips to the bait, allowing you to get rid of the ants you see and the ants you don’t. Allow up to two weeks for the bait to take full effect.
- 9 Bait Stations Per Pack – Spread bait stations over a large area for maximum effectiveness. Ants will seek out the sweet liquid bait and bring it back to the colony
- Kills All Common Household Ants – Harris bait is intended for sweet eating ants, or sugar ants. These include Acrobat ants, Argentine ants, Little black ants, Pavement ants, and many others
- Contains Borax – Borax, a naturally occurring mineral powder, is the active ingredient
- EPA Registered – Registered with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA No. 64405-23-3) for indoor and outdoor use
- Kills the Queen and the Colony – Because borax works slowly to kill, it allows the worker ant time to get back to the colony to share the bait with other ants
User questions & answers
Question: | What is the % of Borax |
Answer: | 5.4% is listed as....Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate (Borax) The stuff works really good. First bait an area( I use about 1 sq. ft. tinfoil) then when a good trail is established take away the bait....something sweet, or small piece luncheon meat etc) and put down some drops of Ant Killer. The ants rush to it....keep feeding it to them....putting down more drops....as long as they're coming. They'll take it "home to mama" and that will be the end of that colony. I wiped out three colonies in the past week. I should be good for a year now. I use this indoors and have pest control company spray around the house and yard. |
Question: | Does this kill fire ants |
Answer: | Hello, Thank you for your question. This product is not effective for fire ants. It works well with common ants that invade homes that are attracted to sweets. Best, John |
Question: | This won't kill spiders, will it |
Answer: | It’s not targeted towards spiders. It works great for ants. I did have 1 spider dead on the tinfoil I had the product on. But it doesn’t attract them. It will kill them if they are unfortunate enough to get in it. |
Question: | This product has worked well for me (on day 2), but question: has anyone had their bait traps disappear? 2 out of the 3 trays are gone! mouse? ants |
Answer: | I never had that happen |
