Answer:	I think there was some hardware to permanently mount on the arm of the wheelchair. I did not use the hardware and threw away because we prefer to slip on the wheel chair tray when we want to use it and then remove it when we are done with. It's slides on and off very easily but it stays in place when it is in use.

Answer:	I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not sure if it can technically be used in the shower, but I would guess it would rust or be damaged being used that way. Amazon has some awesome shower chair options, I'd recommend buying one of those and transferring to that for your shower. I got one for like $20, but they have lots of options depending on what kind of shower chair that you need.
