Answer:	The manual for this transfer bench says a weight capacity of 400 pounds.

Answer:	The legs and frame are metal (aluminum?). The tips on the legs are rubber and the seat and back made of hard plastic.It is very sturdy. I bought it for my 90 year old mother and she really likes it.
Question:	How long are the legs? My tub is 23.5" tall
Answer:	The important measurement is the clearance, not the leg length. There are cross tubes under the seat so the highest clearance after all the legs are extended to their full length is 19 1/2 inch. Unfortunately my tub wall height is 22 1/4 inch. The transfer bench is too large & bulky to send back in light of the fact that I'll only need it for 2 - 4 weeks after my back surgery. I'm just going to put a 2x6 under the exterior legs (2x4s are too narrow for safety).

Answer:	It would be best to remove the lift to wash the tub. You wouldn't be able to wash underneath the lift where the base suctions to the tub.

Answer:	Not entirely. I take an epsom salt soak for my legs with the jacuzzi running so arms are also in the water. But this is not a "bath experience."

Answer:	Unfortunately the bath lift cannot be raised while in the reclined position. The only way to recline the bath lift is when it is at it’s maxed lowered position.

Answer:	My husband is over 6 feet tall and it worked perfectly for him after hip replacement surgery. Answer:	Not knowing the dimensions of your shower it's hard to answer. I am using this in my combo tub/shower for my mother recovery from hip surgery. It's working well. I believe we have a standard size tub/shower combo.
Question:	What is maximum seat height
Answer:	About 23 1/2 inches maximum height. All 4 legs adjust, allowing for uneven surfaces; also you can adjust height to facilitate water runoff into the tub versus onto the floor. The rail can be moved to either end of the bench. We have been very pleased with this item as an inexpensive way to adapt a standard bath to the needs of our elderly parent.

Question:	does it come assembled
Answer:	Yes, the product is fully assembled. All that needs to be done is to extend the legs and lock them into position as needed. Very sturdy frame, but needs a back board to give something for the patient to lean against.
Question:	how does one get into bathtub from seated position
Answer:	The part that has the seat and back is the part that hangs over the bathtub. You sit on the seat and slide over into the tub. You have to swing your legs into the tub or lift the patient's legs into the tub. When the seat slides to the other side it has a clip that holds it in that position until the clip is released to slide back out of the tub (the seat slides side to side).
Question:	What is the clearance measurement under bench? I have a tall tub and I want to be sure this is tall enough
Answer:	I measured as best I could with legs in highest position. The clearance below the lowest point (the sliders on the seat that connect it to the frame sit lowest) is about 19 1/2. I'd say you probably want the tub height to be below 19"...maybe 19 1/4. Hope that helps!

Question:	What is the distance in inches between the legs side to side,and if to wide for my tub can it be set to have 2 legs outsde and 2 inside
Answer:	The legs are slightly tapered. That makes the bench stronger and more stable. For the width, the legs are about 11 inches apart at the top and 16 inches at the bottom. For the length, the legs are about 27 inches apart at the top and 30 1/2 inches at the bottom. We have our bench height set to about 16 inches from the floor to the bottom of the rails. I estimate that the maximum clearance floor to bottom of rail could be about 19 inches. If set higher, then the length and width measurements at the bottom would be slightly greater. The height of each leg can be set separately, so that it can be level if the outside is on the floor and the inside is a little higher in the tub or shower. Very adaptable in other words. Ours is set with the length going from outside to inside the shower. One could also do a tub, if the height of the wall of the tub is not greater than about 18 inches. This transfer bench is a delight. I hope that helps.

Answer:	Gacky - this is the 3rd transfer shower seat I have purchased for my mom and we both love it. It's very stable and she feels safe and secure when using it.it does not teeter/wobble. The padding is excellent and she loves how she doesn't feel like she is going to slide off the seat. I would recommend this transfer seat and an on keeping it for myself one day.
Question:	how does it work for a tub
Answer:	Will this work with a combo jetted tub and shower combination. The tub is 36 inches wide, 19 inches high and 72 inches long. The narrowest width of the entrance side is 5 inches. Also, I'm wondering if the feet are suction cups. We bought a different transfer bench that had suction cups and when my husband sat down on the end of it, it tipped forward. Question:	can this extend enough beyond the bathtub so one can sit on it paralle and outside of the tub before lifting legs to slide into tub
Answer:	Probably no. The slide distance is less than 2 feet. So If you position the seat so you are outside and parallel to the tub, then you slide into the tub, half your body will be in the tub and half over the edge of the tub.

Answer:	The height range is 12" to 20", we use it at 18". The person who uses it is 6'2". It is a great bench, very easily adjusted, up or down. I hope this information helps.

Question:	How wide is it
Answer:	The seat height adjusts from 16 to 21 inches. The width and depth of the legs are both 16.75 inches, the width of the seat is 20.75 inches, the depth of the seat is 18 inches, the height of the seat is adjustable from 16 to 21 inches (add another 12.5 inches for the height of the backrest.) You should not have a problem with this seat as long as the inside bottom of your bathtub is at least 17 inches wide (so that the legs of the seat will fit in it.) Although the seat is wider than the legs, the seat will sit above the height of most bathtubs, unless you have a really deep bathtub (21 inches or more.)
Question:	Is the back removable
Answer:	Yes, it is removable. The optional back clicks right into the cut-out at the back of the bench. The chair back has two grooved slots that fit over two corresponding plastic slats at the back of the bench. Align the grooves and slats, and press gently to securely attach the back. The very end of the chair back has two sturdy, rectangular plastic tabs that fit into the central opening at the back of the bench. The tabs have built-in, horizontal 2-inch plastic lips that lock the chair back into place.If you attach the back, and then change your mind, you can easily remove it. Turn the chair over. To release the horizontal plastic lips that secure the back, press the ends of both plastic, rectangular tabs toward each other until they touch. I used both hands to do this, but someone with larger hands may be able to use only one. Simply pull the chair back away from the bench.
Question:	how does it keep from slipping if the rubber feet are rounded--doesn't look like there is surface area at bottom of feet for suction to the tub
Answer:	This is a terrific chair. I just ordered another one yesterday. Going to have knee replacement surgery and needed a dependable chair. Doesn't slide at all. I have to pick it up to move it. Purchased my first one for $29.95. The second one had increased to $34.95. Check around for the best price.

Answer:	I would estimate 24-30 inches. We have the seat height at 18" w/ very few turns of the legs (maybe 4") so there is alot of height to go.

However, I was also looking for replacement tips just in case that the black rubber tips might be leaking dye onto my off-white fiberglass shower floor.
Question:	do you have any problem with rusting from any parts
Answer:	no, NO RUST at all, this is the ONLY tub chair i could find that did NOT have metal legs or metal parts. It seems to be entirely plastic, yet very sturdy, kind of heavy to be honest. I also use this to stand on to put in lightbulbs, etc. VERY GOOD chair. Just TRY to find a tub chair that does NOT have metal legs. This is the only one.
Question:	What are the dimensions of the foot print? That is what width tub will it fit in. I need the measurement of the feet left to right and front to back
Answer:	I measured my bath tub before I got this seat and it measured 17 inches wide (side to side) This bath seat fit perfect inside my bathtub.
