Answer:	If one lock doesn't hold, try 2 or even 3 locks. I'm huge and must use 3 locks on my sweat shorts 'cuz each time I sit down they loosen up a bit, so each time I stand up, I must retighten them. There must be a better way, but this is all I got at the moment.

Answer:	My husband used this to secure the leather cord on his hat and told me that the opening is about 1/4", so it's tight, but works really well. That's the best I can offer.
