Answer:	The cleaning instructions tell the user to wipe it, not immerse it in water. I don't believe this was designed to be waterproof. My opinion is that it would not be a good choice for a shower chair because of the stitching. The water would probably leak through.

Answer:	This product can be used for 'most' toilets either standard or elongated. The locking mechanism in the front will secure it to the front of the bowl.

Answer:	Yes, at least mine does just fine on my American Standard 2 piece (2 piece only that the water tank is connected to the lower bowl and it is attached with two bolts and rubber seals to prevent leaking, which is pretty standard). It just pins the back of the plastic seat riser under the back lip of porcelain by twisting the knob on a plastic shaft with rubber on it, to wedge it solidly. It is IDENTICAL but much cheaper than the Vive.

Answer:	Less - width is 13 3/4" from side to side as it sits on top of toilet bowl. Including arms width is 21 1/4" wide. Hope this helps.
Question:	My elongated toilet has a 16" hole; can someone assure me that this will fit without rocking
Answer:	If my memory is correct it has no latch on the lip. What it has is long bolts that go through the back and your seat sits on top. I sent mine back. Not because of that because it was too high for my mother

Answer:	Have you searched Amazon? That's where I purchased mine. I haven't looked for the standard type because the toilets in 3 my bathrooms are all elongated.

Answer:	While the paper work and the website say that you can use your existing seat and cover assembly, that is only "kind of" true. The long bolts for the seat riser are designed to pass through the seat hinge, and if you have a new "click to connect" or "flip to lock" seat hinge, it will not work. You must use a old style seat hinge set up that has bolt holes in it. I end up using a seat assembly with a plastic hinge to make it easier to drill out the bolt hole to accommodate the large lag bolts that are supplied with the Vive seat riser assembly. If you have an older seat set up, it will probably work just fine, but if you have a modern seat with the quick disconnect feature, it will not work. All that said, even with having to get a new cheap $19.95 toilet seat to go with this , it only took about 15 minutes to install, and once installed, it is quite sturdy.

Answer:	I don't know, but it is sufficient. The more important question is how the seat will fit on the the rim of the toilet. I had to add "buffers" so that the fit was snug. I used pieces of PVC pipe that I screwed to the seat until it did not slip side to side or front to back. The seat has built in connections so it can be attached to the toilet, but I preferred doing it with the "buffers". In general I was satisfied with this item. Again, I do not know the dimensions of the opening. STChar

Question:	how to attach to existing toilet
Answer:	My son installed it but he says it was easy. The hardware comes with it.
Question:	I want a seat like this for my mom who visits only occasionally. Can we easily put it on and take it off or is it a fairly permanent installation
Answer:	Seat was for my mother which weights approx. 120lbs.I have also sat on it when I installed the seat I would say it should support 250lbs with no problem.
