Question:	Is it normal for the device to measure 47 dBA in a quite room out of the box
Answer:	47 seems a bit high, but listen to what is around you. There may be things that you've grown accustom to and therefore 'tune them out'. If you have a large closet with a fair amount of hanging clothes (they absorb a lot of noise), try it in there. In my case I get 38-40. Also, holding it can make a difference. What do you get if you put it on a tripod? I had an opportunity to compare mine to a pro-quality unit (> $2,500) in a sound room, but didn't think about it at the time given the rush to get things done.

Answer:	Unfortunately I am not able. The product information is very vague but then again it was very in-expensive. I'm using it for general measurements. If you're looking to meet ANSI then I suggest you spend the money and buy an appropriate product from a more scientific company. No slam on Meterk but they appear to sell a wide variety of products. You may wish to consider Amprobe SM-10 at $172 as it seems to meet ANSI, IEC, JISC (Japan) and N10140 (Australian) standards

Answer:	I have never been able to get the software to work under Windows 10 Pro. It never recognizes the device. I spent many hours trying to get it to work. I tried to get it working on my 8 core desktop, a Microsoft Surface Book, and a Surface Book 2 when I upgraded. I also emailed back and forth with support several times. They tried their best to help, but none of their suggestions worked, so I finally gave up on using the Windows software with this device. It's a shame because the PC connection is one of the reasons I chose this device over other brands. Of course, by the time I gave up, it was well past the return period. Fortunately, as a stand-alone device, this meter works very well. So, even without the PC software, it's a great value. In fact, despite the software issues, I'm still pretty happy with this meter. I hope this was helpful.

Answer:	According to directions it is well calibrated before shipment and recommends recalibration cycle of one year. Directions tell you how to recalibrate. Seems to be working for me/

The first mode simply reads the noise level at a constant rate, continually flucuating as the noise level changes. The other mode as she mentioned is the "MAX" mode. When you set it to this mode it will hold the highest reach noise level since placing the meter on MAX mode. Answer:	Hi there - I am with BAFX Products Support.It can certainly reach 30dBa however to find a location where the sound level is that low you will need to work very hard. Even most "VERY quiet rooms" are going to have a readings of anywhere from 35-45dba.Using it in a room of a house away from any busy streets, with all windows and doors closed, all ventilation off and all air ducts closed and no humans or animals in the room, MAY allow you to get down to 35dBa or so. Question:	How well will this work to measure the sound level in a car cabin
Answer:	IT can work fine. When turned “on” it displays an internal reading that appears high. Ignore this reading because the car read is probably higher.
Question:	Can you program this to beep or alarm at a certain noise level
Answer:	no you can not program it at all. it just has the microphone on top to pick the noise up and then shows you on the display what the noise level is.
Question:	Does it lock to the loudest sound? , if I wanted to check the db of a gunshot for example
Answer:	I'm not sure what you mean "lock" but you can check for the loudest db very easily, and the lowest db, too. It doesn't stay on that number forever though. Or at least I haven't gotten it to do that. But I'm usually too busy trying to figure out the average db's. I wish it told me that. It cycles off after so long (maybe 20 - 30 min.) and then you've lost all the data.

Answer:	It will read the ambient sound level, and the compressor will be part of that. It shouldn't matter what the sound is at 300 ft. Get a copy of your town's noise ordinance; work with the cops, if that is not satisfactory, lawyer up.
Question:	How accurate is it? Can one rely on the readings
Answer:	The one I have seems pretty accurate, comparing the readings to a minidsp umik-1 they are very close. Assuming the umik-1 is calibrated correctly I would say decently accurate.

Answer:	"Made In China" ... that is what is molded on the 9v battery door. Not sure why that really matters as it seems that 80% of the world's products come from China. If we were a bit more tyrannical, empirical, communistic methods then maybe we could compete but who wants to make products where we poison the community, the workers and their minds. I remember where things were "Made in the USA" and if it came from another country it was like "wow!" really? Back in the 60's, anything German and Japanese had a great reputation ... so where where we? oh yes ... I have one and it works and its cheap and its made in China. I hope this helps

Answer:	The SDS 1104X-E is a great scope. It is considered an entry level instrument. It is excellent for the individual entering the electronics field.

Answer:	For WiFi you can use an Access Point that can be operated in "Client Mode". I am using a TP-Link N300 (WR802N) and it works very well. The other options really seem to require special firmware/license upgrades.

Answer:	Honestly, you probably could read the output of them in Milligauss or Microtesla but you would have to get pretty uncomfortably close. For reading radiation of those things and not endangering yourself I imagine you would need a pretty powerful EMF Meter. After doing some quick research on this, you would need something along the lines EMF Detector with the detectable range of something like 10 Hz to 10-12 GHz. For radiation coming from Cell towers you will be in the 50-10,000 MHz Radiation from high tension lines you will be looking at under 5 MHz by a great deal
Question:	Can it detect the variables in earth's magnetic field
Answer:	Thinking logically about it you would think yes because weather it be earth's magnetic field or a magnetic field from say inside your house from an appliance they would both be detected. But that is just my thoughts about it so you would need an answer really from the manufacturer.

Question:	What type of probes are you guys using with these? Will 100mhz probes work on this 200mhz machine
Answer:	100mhz probes will physically work with this oscilloscope (I use a 100mhz differential probe with this due to cost limitations), but be well aware of the limitations of the probes, readings will be less accurate at 100mhz and nearly unusable at the 200mhz range of the oscilloscope. The oscilloscope does come with 4 ok probes that are rated at 200mhz. You are always better off using probes that are rated at least as high as the oscilloscope or higher, your results depend on it.
Question:	Can this model be upgraded by the USB
Answer:	I have seen 1 update to the SDS1202X-E since I have had it. The update was done by placing the update file on a USB drive, and then selecting the file. It was quick and easy.
Question:	Is there a way to use this as a spectrum analyzer ? an sa can cost easily as much as this scope. i am impressed
Answer:	You realize this scope only has an input analog bandwidth of 200 Mhz. The typical low end spectrum analyzer about ($1500) has a bandwidth up to 1.5-2.0 Ghz. SA's also generally come with a tracking generator, which outputs a signal at the exact same frequency being measured at that moment, so you can pass it through a device to measure it's spectrum attenuation. For frequency's below 200 Mhz, the FFT function on this scope will give you some of the same data a SA would give under some conditions. A SA has an enormously more sensitive input. If you connect an antenna to a SA input, it gives a very good display. An antenna connected to the input of this/most oscilloscopes will not show much of anything, as there is not enough signal strength. A SA will also generally have a much higher resolution spectrum,. If you show 200 Mhz of spectrum on this scope, with a 1 million sample FFT, that gives 1/2 million FFT buckets, so each must be about 400 Hz wide. In favor of the oscilloscope, if you're only dealing with low frequencies, a typical spectrum analyzer has a lower frequency limit, like often in the 5 khz range, so is useless below that. For audio work, a scope with a good FFT is way more useful than a RF SA. The FFT function on this scope looks a lot better than on the Rigol scopes due to it's much larger sample size limit.
