Answer: | It can, but like any tester, it will be affected by connected components. ESR test is usually pretty reliable in-circuit as it sends 100kHz (or whatever frequency you pick from the selection) and the impedance of a good cap will be low - 1-2 ohms typically so parallel components should not show up. Capacitance may not be, depends as it will measure all capacitance in-circuit across the node (across the capacitor). Large electrolytics may test close enough, small caps probably not. The other tests, Q, leakage, etc are not in-circuit tests. |

Answer: | it has been used on motorbikes for sure. It just needs to be in amp mode. If you're doing parasitic load, then you're focused on DC Amps. The 117 has up to 6, while the 88 has up to 10. I don't see a big issue as you're just doing parasitic, not actual use. If anything actually pulls more than 6, you'll blow the internal fuse and have to replace it, but that's about it. Shouldn't be a problem(I've just tested mine on my car and it works). |

Answer: | Lowest range on the BM4070 is 200 microhenries, with a resolution of 0.1 uH. However, accuracy degrades substantially at small inductance values. For example, my instrument reads 0.9 uH with zero test inductance (test lead length is 2 x 8 inches). With a 26 inch pair of test leads, this error increases to 2.3 uH. Thus, it's important to determine and subtract out the stray inductance of your test setup before trying to measure anything as small as 2 uH. Also, I have no precisely known inductances at values this small, so cannot say what the instrument calibration accuracy is in this range. If accuracy/precision are important, I'm afraid you're going to have to obtain a (much more expensive) lab-grade instrument, such as an inductance bridge, capable of measuring down to this level. |

Tips for not accurate measurement:
To measure small capacitance, different measurement principles and different measurement frequencies will lead to different measurement results.
The resistance component affects the accuracy, and the measurement results need to be subtracted from the data displayed before the measurement.
When measuring small inductors and capacitors, if the component feet are suitable, it is recommended not to use the test leads. Please just insert component feet directly into two rectangular jacks of LCR Meter to measure.

The DM4070 LCR meter is for measuring the inductance of wire coils, chokes, or transformers. The meter could be used to measure the inductance of the transmitter coil but it is not designed to transmit any signal to be measured by a receiving device.As a side note, I have found the meter to be quite accurate in Inductance and Capacitance measurement. It does exhibit erratic readings if the battery is weak. I have calculated the permeability of transformer cores with the inductance measurements and have been very pleased with the results. |

Answer: | As smd components are so small I don't think you could check them with this tester. |

Answer: | It should show it automatically. Mine shows the 'capacitance', 'ESR' and 'Vloss'. Mine shows all 3 readings on the same screen. You have to plug component into holes (1 & 2) or (2 & 3) or (1 & 3). |

Answer: | No. This meter is for one test only - ESR of a capacitor. It does not perform any other tests. |

Answer: | In the description on my order it is listed as V2. On a scope, with the meter open circuit, the test waveform is a rounded square wave. When connected to a 100 ohm resistor, the waveform is more of a triangle wave. When connected to a capacitor, it is somewhere between a triangle and a sine wave. |

Answer: | A small (pocket size) instruction booklet is included. I was not impressed with the MESR100 V2. My opinion of this product, it is a toy tester, the cables are much too short. I was dragging the tester all over the circuit board trying to get readings because of the (WAY TOO SHORT CABLES.) I 1st used it on a sound bar that was not working which has several electrolytic caps. Some had bulging tops, yet the tester indicated every caps was within specs. I also tested some electrolytic caps in a electronic siren (also not working) and the same results. I also tested other non working products, again the same results. ***I highly suggest you save your money and get a well known brand***.Hope this helps you. |
